M2 Antennas HO LOOP Antennas

M2 Antennas HO LOOP Antennas provide easy SSB, CW and Digital communications out to 200 miles or more. These are great VHF and UHF antennas for the new operator just getting started in either mobile or base weak signal operations. HO LOOP Antennas are the right choice for any operator who wants the convenience of omnidirectional coverage, with the correct polarization, without investing in a rotator and support that is required for Yagi antennas. HO LOOPs transmit and receive horizontally polarized signals that are required for weak signal operation, where verticals are not effective. Horizontal polarity permits HO LOOPs to add upwards of 5dB of ground gain that verticals cannot. As with most horizontally polarized antennas, performance improves dramatically with height above ground, especially on VHF and UHF bands. Physically, the HO LOOP Antennas are square, fabricated from two 3/8 in. diameter aluminum tubes to minimize losses. Their sealed feed block provides weather protection with minimum wind drag. The heart of this unique design is the shorted stub matching to a 50 ohm coaxial feedline. They are lightweight and have very low wind area, which makes them ideal for stacking in base or mobile operations. Mounting is via a single 3/8 in. hole that is standard for most mobile hardware, with optional mounting hardware available for base* or mobile installations, as shown. Minimum vehicle mounting height and stacking separation dimensions are displayed in the details for each HO LOOP. Gain figures appear below and in their Instruction Manuals. *NOTE: Mounting of HO-LOOPS on a 1-1/4 to 2 inch mast for base operations requires the optional MSQ-MASTBRKTKIT. Enjoy the thrill of VHF and UHF weak signal operations with M2 Antennas HO LOOP Antennas from DX Engineering! Gain figures for each loop at specific heights above ground for mobile operations. However, loop installations for base operations should be as high above ground as possible, just as though it were a beam (but no rotator required). 50 MHz Gain: Single HO Loop at 11 ft. is 4.2 dBd at 25 deg.; Stack of 2 HO Loops at 40 ft. and 52 ft. is 8.2 dBd at 6 deg. 144 MHz Gain: Single HO Loop at 10 ft. is 4.0 dBd at10 deg.; Stack of 2 HO Loops at 82 in. and 132 in. is 8 dBd at 9 deg. 222 MHz Gain: Single HO Loop at 84 in. is 4.7 dBd at 7 deg.; Stack of 2 HO Loops at 84 in. and 117 in. is 8.2 dBd at 7 deg. 432 MHz Gain: Single HO Loop at 86 in. is 5.0 dBd at 4 deg.; Stack of 2 HO Loops at 84 in. and 100 in. is 8.8 dBd at 4 deg.

M2 Antennas 2M4X 2 Meter Yagi Antennas

M2 Antennas 2M4X 2 Meter Yagi Antennas are exceptional, with a clean mechanical design, full band coverage and computer optimized performance. A totally sealed and grounded driven element design with a unique internal balun provides the heart that will beat for years to come. The 2M4X is perfect for base or portable use. Its boom end-mount mast bracket allows either vertical polarization for FM or horizontal polarization for SSB, CW and Digital, plus easy stacking or tower side mounting. Every station needs at least one 2M4X! M2 Antennas designs and builds new antennas to fit the needs of Amateur Radio enthusiasts. The "X" series of antennas are redesigns that reduce packaging length to under 48 inches, to minimize oversize surcharges applied by shippers. The "X" series antennas offer the same performance as its predecessor, but with shorter and multiple boom sections. Some boom sections have a thicker wall for added strength. A side benefit of the "X" series antenna redesign is that they are now more portable with shorter boom sections. Replacing the popular 2M4, the 2M4X features a 50-ohm Type-N Female connector for the lowest loss. (If you prefer to use a 2 meter beam with an SO-239, see the M2 Antennas 2M3SS.)

M2 Antennas Power Dividers

M2 Antennas Power Dividers are non-isolation type dividers that serve as RF combiners and splitters for 50 ohm antennas and feedlines. They are carefully hand-crafted to achieve their design frequency range. M2 Antennas Power Dividers are made with Type N female connectors so they have extremely low loss and constant impedance characteristics. Power Dividers are used in VHF and UHF arrays to impedance match two or four Loop or Yagi antennas that are fed in phase, separated by the proper stacking spacing, and pointed in the same direction. As compared to a single antenna, this technique can yield 3 dB gain for two antennas and nearly 6 dB gain for four antennas, less only the minor losses of the phasing lines and the power divider. Each pair of stacked antennas nearly doubles the effective radiated power of the station. The 6 meter band Power Dividers are made with low loss coaxial cables and high quality connectors. All other M2 Antennas Power Dividers are constructed with aluminum tubing or aluminum blocks and solid metal center conductors to make coaxial lines with air dielectric, so their losses are nearly immeasurable. These two-port and four-port Power Dividers feature aluminum brazed joints, machined end blocks and 'O' ring sealed coaxial connectors of the highest quality. Each M2 Antennas Power Dividers has less than 0.1 dB loss and handles 3 kW of RF power. Two-port dividers are used for a pair of Horizontal Omni Loops or a pair of Yagi antennas with equal length of 50 ohm low loss coaxial cables with Type N connectors. Two-port power dividers are also used in arrays of eight Yagis or multiples, to combine each pair of four antennas that are served by four-port Power Dividers. Available now at DX Engineering, M2 Antennas Power Dividers offer the best method of splitting and combining RF in your stacked VHF and UHF HO Loop or Yagi arrays.
