MFJ Lightweight Telescoping Fiberglass Masts

MFJ Lightweight Telescoping Fiberglass Masts are useful in many applications. Use them to raise dipoles and other wire antennas, use them on Field Day, and use them with wire to make resonant or non-resonant verticals. All you need to do is imagine your own application. Keep in mind that these fiberglass support poles are lightweight and need to be guyed when erected. Only light weight guy rope and ground anchors are required. Pre-drilled sections allow user-supplied bolts to be installed, making these poles remain extended indefinitely. When you don't have trees or other supports available, these MFJ Lightweight Telescoping Fiberglass Masts, available from DX Engineering, will help you raise your wire antennas.

MFJ Vertical Antennas

MFJ Vertical Antennas cover a wide variety of needs and frequencies. Vertical antennas were literally invented by Guglielmo Marconi, the great Italian physicist and radio pioneer, in about 1905. In fact, the word "antenna" is derived from the Italian word for a pole. Vertical antennas have been under constant development ever since their invention. Vertical antennas may be found everywhere. Most commonly, a steel element used as an external car-radio antenna is a form of a vertical antenna. Commercial AM radio broadcasts are originated by towers called mast radiators. These antennas are very large towers that are insulated at the base. This allows the entire length of the tower to become the transmit element for the radio station. MFJ's Amateur Radio vertical antennas may cover a single frequency-band, as in a 10-meter ground plane, or several bands, as in their MFJ-2990 multi-band vertical antenna. The advent of automatic antenna tuners has led to the development of non-resonant multi-band verticals, like their MFJ-2990, which are very frequency-agile and efficient. Many people have concerns about limited space or other antenna restrictions. For these folks, MFJ's long-wire antennas, dipoles, Yagis, and other large-footprint antennas may be impractical. In these applications, an MFJ vertical antenna, with their typically tiny footprint, is probably the best solution. Whether you need a single-band vertical antenna or an antenna to cover many bands with great frequency-agility, you'll find MFJ Vertical Antennas from DX Engineering to suit any need!

MFJ 58B PVC Cross Loop Antenna Kits

MFJ 58B PVC Cross Loop Antenna Kits include a PVC cross mount that plugs into the top of a required Loop Tuner. Use either model MFJ-933, 935B, or 936B loop tuners. Each Cross Loop Kit provides for individually mounting four separate 10-gauge wires at 4, 7, 12, and 28 ft. in length. The four wire loops included in the MFJ 58B antenna kits provide coverage from 60-10 meters. The 28 ft. wire operates on 60 and 40 meters. This loop is most efficient on 40 meters, but can be tuned lower in frequency to 60 meters with some efficiency loss. This wire can be clipped to a bookshelf, curtain, or any other support that will allow for the most convenient placement. The 13 ft. wire is most efficient on 20 meters, but can be tuned to 30 meters with some efficiency loss. The 7 ft. wire provides coverage on 20, 17, and 15 meters. It's most efficient on 15 meters, but can be tuned down to 20 meters with some efficiency loss. The 4 ft. wire provides coverage on 17, 12, and 10 meters. This wire is most efficient on 10 meters, but can be tuned down to 17 meters with some efficiency loss. In all cases, the wire becomes an insulated 10-gauge flexible loop with low-resistance lugs. As always, efficiency of the loop is dependent on the loop shape, support, and your operating environment. The PVC cross mount consists of 5 sections of 3/4 in. PVC tubing that connects together in seconds using a PVC cross connector (two different base tubes are provided, which optimizes the PVC cross mount size for the wires used). Three loops can be attached to the PVC cross mount using the loop support bands provided on the PVC sections. When assembled, the cross measures approximately 4 1/2 ft. across and has a maximum height of 4 1/2 ft. When disassembled and bundled together, the PVC sections only take up 2 in. x 2 in. x 26 in. of space.

MFJ Folded Dipole Antennas

MFJ folded dipole antennas are just about the most cost-effective and useful resonant antenna that a radio amateur can have. Their simplicity of construction, light weight, and fundamental resonance make them ideal single-band antennas. Folded dipoles have some decided advantages over standard half-wave dipoles. These typically include broader bandwidth, lower noise, and lower SWR. They are available for several bands, so you can use one of these compact antennas for traveling, camping, Field Day, DX-peditions, or as a fixed antenna at home. When you're looking for a very cost-effective, low-band antenna solution, think about these folded dipoles. Then think DX Engineering, because we are the best place to order your MFJ folded dipole antennas!
