Paradan Radio Dual Operator Controllers are exciting devices that enable two operators to use one transceiver to independently make contacts and listen. This audio, microphone, and PTT controller is perfect for two-person portable operations like POTA or SOTA, as well as tandem operating during events such as Field Day or radio contests. This controller is exactly what hams need for one-on-one training of new operators, for any type of operation including casual, DXing and contesting! This is a perfect way for parents, grandparents, siblings and friends to share their love of our great hobby and to get others on the air! The Dual Operator Controller is appropriately designed for each operator to wear their own personal headset and to use their designated footswitch. Both operators hear the transceiver audio until Operator 1 depresses their footswitch. Then their respective LED illuminates, the audio is muted to their headphones, their headset microphone is connected and the radio keys to transmit. As Operator 1 completes the contact (QSO), Operator 2 can hear the QSO via the radio monitor audio and either operator can perform the logging function for the QSO. When Operator 1 releases their footswitch, Operator 2 can depress their footswitch, their LED lights and everything connects in order for them to make a QSO on the same transceiver, while Operator 1 listens. Of course, either operator can perform logging tasks, or each can do their own logging. The dual footswitch PTT of the Dual Operator Controller functions on a "first come, first served" basis. Either operator can key the transceiver and talk, just not both at the same time. No computer or software is required or connects to the Paradan Radio Dual Operator Controller. This device provides a simple and straightforward way to connect mic, headphones and PTT for "2OSR" - Two Operator - Single Radio fun! The Paradan Radio Dual Operator Controller set includes the controller, two footswitches, one brand and connector specific radio interface cable (8-pin Round or 8-pin Modular RJ45; Icom or Yaesu), a 3.5mm male audio patch cable and 6.35mm adapter, and a power cable for 10-15VDC. Order the unit that corresponds to the correct mic cable for your transceiver. Internal jumpers can be set to configure the unit mic input for either dynamic or electret on both microphone elements. This controller works with Amateur headsets that have an attached boom microphone, and consumer headsets referred to as "computer or gaming" headsets. Paradan Radio Brake Delay LED Module
Paradan Radio Brake Delay LED Module – an assembly to be installed in a CDE or Hy-Gain Antenna Rotator control box. The Brake Delay and Meter LED board updates your rotor controller and helps protect your rotor from damage due to braking while the antenna is still in motion. Rotor damage may occur if you release the brake before the antenna comes to a complete stop. Then, to repair a broken rotor, it must be taken off the tower, disassembled, damaged parts replaced, and then put back on the tower…a difficult and costly procedure. Installing this Brake Delay circuit will completely eliminate rotor failure to due to damaged gear teeth and brake components. In addition, this package includes a bright LED panel to replace the failure prone incandescent bulb. The package contains two assembled circuit boards: the relay board, and the LED board. They are easily installed within the rotor control box, requiring unsoldering and soldering in a few wires to accessible terminals. Using the rotator is the same as before, except that when the rotate paddle is released and the brake paddle is released, the rotor is allowed time to come to a stop before braking is applied. The delay time is user adjustable from 1sec to 10 sec. When the rotor is ON the meter is brightly illuminated with white LEDs; when the brake is depressed, the meter lights up with red during the delay period. Comes complete with easy-to-follow instructions.
