REZ Antenna Systems Surveyor Tripod Adapters
REZ Antenna Systems Surveyor Tripod Adapters allow for a 3/8-24 threaded antenna systems to be mounted on a standard 5/8-11 surveyor tripod. As these tripods are designed for stability on rugged terrain, this adapter will provide a solid base for your high wind-load portable verticals. The adapter is machined from Acetal and serves as both a mechanical coupler and an electrical insulator, preventing the tripod from becoming part of your antennas ground system. This helps to avoid unpredictable tuning, hidden efficiency losses and unwanted pattern distortion. The antenna side of the adapter features a stainless steel 3/8-24 insert for long thread life and smooth engagement of your antenna. The tripod side features a 5/8-11 thread that is machined directly into the Acetal base and is intended to remain on the tripod during regular use. The [Z]Pod is used when ground conditions prevent the use of a mounting ground Spike. It features a 3/8-24 thread for antenna coil mounting and a bottom mounted loop and carabiner, which is used to hang a REZ-ZPWH weight or as a tie-down point. This custom machined aluminum stud weight hanger and split stainless steel ring allows a weight to hang directly below the tripod, keeping it centered for increased tripod stability. Or, use a tie down if desired. The [Z]Pod Weight Hanger ring also folds flat for easy storage.
