RM ITALY BLA600 Solid State Amplifiers

RM ITALY BLA600 Solid State Amplifiers are wideband, compact, automatic linear amplifiers for 160 through 6 meters; 1.8 to 54 MHz. Low input drive requirements (20 to 25W on 80-10 meters, 30-40W for 500W on 160m and 6m) make these amplifiers THE perfect transceiver companion! RM ITALY BLA600 amplifiers are fully automatic 500W solid-state linear amplifiers suitable for seamless integration with all modern transceivers. They utilize the rugged NXP / Freescale MRF6VP5600H 50V power MOSFET for high power and high reliability. These amplifiers are capable of all modern modulation modes. BLA600 amplifiers are fully automatic, featuring instant RF frequency-reading for band changes and fast, reliable and silent PIN diode TX-RX switching, making them ideal for CW QSK operation (separately purchased transceiver to amplifier PTT keying cable is required.) BLA600 amps have three (3) antenna outputs that are easily configurable on a per-band basis as per the user's requirements. Their RF deck is supplied by a heavy-duty linear power supply, with 240 volt AC input* (115-120 or 230 VAC capable) and utilizes an efficient active bridge rectifier with very high-grade filter capacitors to provide the PA devices with a very low noise and robust 50V DC. The amplifier's RF deck has a large heat spreader and copper heat sink which provides a very efficient cooling system. There are separate fans for the RF deck and LPF board / power supply for high duty cycle operation. Internally, all modules are mounted in a very robust and well-screened enclosure. BLA600 amplifiers feature Dual MCU control and an extensive array of protection circuits that look after the amplifier with rapid reaction time. VSWR, I/P Power, I/P Frequency, Three Temperature sensors; Transistor / Heat sink and PSU, Drain voltage / Drain current and HV PIN supply are all continuously monitored. Some thumbnail details: * Employs Freescale MRFE6VP5600 Power FETs * Drive requirements: 20-25W for 500W on 80-10m; 30-40W for 500W on 160m and 6m * Input drive from 1W to maximum of 40W (1 to 25W w/reduced output) * Power Gain: Typical 14dB +/- 1dB (80-10m) * Solid 500W Output on all modes * Dual MCU Control * Fast PIN Diode RX-TX TX-RX switching enables full QSK operation * 2x16 LCD screen for Amplifier Status * Two Separate LED displays; one for power and one for antenna VSWR * Three antenna output connectors, user-configurable * Dual large-diameter MCU controlled multispeed fans for efficient cooling * 1,200W Linear Power Supply- Highly filtered and regulated * Weight: 21.5kg (47.4 lbs.) * Quiet, 240 VAC operation **Requires a user supplied NEMA 6-15P to IEC 320-C13 Cord. (Internally resettable for 230 or 120 VAC input on jumper board under rear access panel secured with T10 torx screws) * AC Input Fuse: 5 x 20mm F LBC 250V; Fast Blow, 240 VAC 5A (included); or 230 VAC 6A (optional) or 115-120 VAC 10A (optional, with NEMA 5-15P to IEC 320-C13 15A Cord.) WARNING: Amplifier is set from the factory for 240VAC operation. Do not use a low amperage PC power supply AC cord. An IEC C-13 14AWG 15A cord is required with NEMA 6-15P for 240VAC or NEMA 5-15P for 120VAC after internal jumpers and fuse have been changed. If your HF transceiver can be set for 20 to 40 watts output, then you will be sending 500 watts to the antenna on ALL bands 160 through 6 meters using this amplifier. The real beauty is that it all happens fully automatically! There is no tuning and no band switching! Give your signal a nice boost. They are the perfect choice for medium power operations with today's very capable, low power (QRP) radios, including many brands of portable and SDR transceivers. The MLA100 features PIN diodes for very fast receive-transmit-receive switching am seamless QSK CW fast break-in operation. Band selections are automatically detected and switched or may be set manually. Front panel LEDs display power output and SWR simultaneously on dual bar graphs. MLA100 amplifiers have built in protection from excessive input power, high temperature and high SWR. The MLA100 is a clean and capable standard solid state linear amplifier using two robust Mitsubishi RD1000HHF1 MOSFETs built into a massive, chassis-sized heatsink. The MLA100V is the same amplifier unit with the addition of an externally mounted fan. Both MLA100 and MLA100V HF Amplifiers require 13.8 Vdc at 20 A maximum, and feature a rear panel 20A ATC fuse and DC power quick connector. Also on the rear panel are Input and Output SO-239/UHF female RF connectors and a female RCA phono "PTT" for amplifier keying. Their chassis measure 190 x 182 x 78mm x (7.48 x 7.17 x 3.07 in.) and weigh 1.4kg (3.1 lbs.). *** Note: Amplifier Color may vary. PLEASE NOTE: This amplifier is intended to be used with a low power (QRP) transceiver that is capable of an RF output of approximately 5 watts maximum. DO NOT USE this amplifier with radios that are capable of 100 watts output. Even when output power is turned down, many 100 watt transceivers send out an instantaneous high power RF pulse that will blow out the Solid State final transistors of this amplifier. Damage to final transistors due to RF pulse and overdrive is NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. It is the owner's responsibility to use this amplifier properly, with a low power radio that cannot accidently damage the amplifier. Cost of repair of amplifiers with blown finals will be charged to the customer or will be deducted from the refund of returned amplifiers with blown finals. Available exclusively in North America from DX Engineering, order your RM ITALY MLA100 HF Amplifier to bring new operational capability - and more fun - to your QRP transceiver.

RM ITALY LA435 Wideband UHF Amplifiers

RM ITALY LA435 Wideband UHF Amplifiers are very compact linear units that cover from 405 to 480 MHz. They are ideally suited to low power handheld transceivers, requiring input drive from 1 watt to a maximum of 5 watts, delivering a nominal 60 watts of full output power, 70 watts PEP maximum. The LA435 amplifier features automatic "RF Sense" switching between RX and TX and it bypasses when it is switched off for low power operation. The SSB mode adds a small transmit-receive delay for smoother voice operation. The rear panel European-style removable DC power connector cable facilitates easy installation with a user supplied DC power cable fused for 15A at 13.8 VDC. The DC power cable to the mobile battery or power supply should be as short as possible. Use of a minimal length of low-loss 50 ohm coaxial cable to the appropriate UHF antenna is recommended. The LA-435 features Type-N input and output RF connectors to minimize losses. Actual output power depends on coaxial cable and antenna SWR as well as frequency of use. A graph in the manual illustrates the relationship between input and output power at 435 MHz. NOT compatible with DMR and P25 modes.
