The Radio Source Lowdown FlexPlane Groundplane Radial Wires provide a ready-to-deploy groundplane system for the 630PD and other vertical antennas. Constructed from insulated, bonded copper radial wires, the FlexPlane creates a symmetrical radial field that extends outward from the antenna in all directions. This efficient groundplane configuration helps maximize signal performance and system efficiency while minimizing ground losses. Designed for both permanent and portable installations, the FlexPlane functions as a groundplane or counterpoise for vertical antennas. Simply connect the FlexPlane lead to the station ground connection and position the radial system horizontally beneath the antenna. The system may be suspended above ground, installed on the surface, or buried for long-term operation. For fixed installations, the use of a properly installed ground rod is recommended to provide an effective earth ground and additional lightning protection pathway for connected equipment.
