West Mountain Radio TARGETuner Screwdriver Antenna Controllers

West Mountain Radio TARGETuner Screwdriver Antenna Controllers are designed as screwdriver antenna management systems that include motor control for the antenna and frequency sensing for band matching. They are ideal for mobile antennas with a remote control head. TARGETuners sense the RF Signal going to the antenna and will work with any transmitter or transceiver. They do not depend on a radio data link for band selection and do not need to control the radio for activation. TARGETuners provide a digital display of basic transmitter frequency and SWR, as well as manual tuning control options that allow the user to monitor antenna performance and manually adjust the antenna if necessary. These TARGETuner systems continuously monitor transmitter frequency and antenna performance and can adjust the antenna accordingly with vehicle movement, antenna icing, or any other proximity or environmental related antenna detuning effects. They even have an SWR alarm! TARGETuner's RF Sensing Module is remote from the radio controls. This limits RF exposure to other radio and antenna-control components. An industry standard shielded CAT-5 cable serves as interconnect between the TARGETuner RF Sensor Module and TARGETuner Controller. Power is supplied through industry standard PowerPole Connectors for ease of power connection and fusing. West Mountain Radio Super PWRgate Battery Backup Systems

West Mountain Radio Super PWRgate Battery Backup Systems are built to handle the job, with two 80 ampere Schottky diodes configured as an OR-Gate, they isolate and switch your equipment between power supply and battery operation. Capable of safely handling a continuous 40 amperes on almost any 12 Vdc power supply and battery combination, they make a true solid-state UPS (uninterruptible power supply). With a built-in four-stage, high-power, current limit selectable smart battery charger, Super PWRgate Battery Backup Systems are ideal for the ham shack, emergency communications systems (EmComm), or anywhere DC power is crucial. Connected equipment instantly and automatically switches to battery power during an AC power blackout or power supply failure. Super PWRgate units eliminate the danger of connecting a power supply directly across a battery, which can damage many power supplies. Using your power supply and a PWRgate also avoids introducing hum and RF interference that is caused by most lead-acid battery chargers. Furthermore, most lead-acid battery chargers are designed for flooded lead-acid marine or automotive batteries, and are inappropriate for charging sealed lead-acid gel cells and AGM type batteries. Featuring selectable current rates of 1, 4, 7 or 10 amperes to match your battery's rating, these units can extend the life span of these types of batteries compared to using a standard car battery charger. Super PWRgate units are very useful in the ham shack, and even more useful in a repeater installation. Communication equipment will remain operative during AC power blackouts and power supply failures. Power supplies and batteries can be swapped out while equipment continues to be powered and without glitches. Additionally, with a power supply a PWRgate may be used solely as a permanently installed battery charger or configured to run a radio station directly from the battery. Note: For additional product information, please look at the files under the "Documentation" tab. West Mountain Radio Super PWRgate Battery Backup Systems are always ready for your DC powered equipment. Get yours here…at DX Engineering!

West Mountain Radio CBA Battery Charger Interfaces

West Mountain Radio CBA Battery Charger Interfaces are software-controlled and used with a West Mountain Radio CBA IV Battery Analyzer to automate life cycle tests, automatically alternating between periods of charging and discharging the battery. By automatically switching between the charge and discharge cycles of the battery, a hands-free lifetime test of the battery may be performed. CBA Battery Charger Interfaces require a user-supplied battery charger that is compatible with the test battery. When the interface units are idle, the two pairs of Powerpole connections on the interface are in an open-circuit state. When the units switch to charging, the Powerpoles are connected together, thereby connecting the battery charger to the battery under test. The interfaces measure the current going from the charger into the battery, and this current is then logged by the computer software. Adding battery chargers and CBA Battery Charger Interfaces to your battery testing setup not only allows for the full automation of battery life-cycle testing, but it also provides for the convenient recharging of batteries after testing for other parameters, such as capacity tests.
