InnovAntennas DXR Series Multi-Band HF Beams

InnovAntennas DXR Series Multi-Band HF Beams have short booms with full-size elements or capacity-loaded shortened elements, all with excellent performance, making them very popular internationally. The DXR Series interlaced-element antennas, optimized by G0KSC over a long period of time, achieve the best possible balance between compact size and performance. For the DXR Series Multi-band Yagis, equal attention was paid to a very solid construction and sufficiently small component and packaging size, to keep shipping costs within reasonable limits. Click on any model listed for specific details and specifications. InnovAntennas DXR Series Multi-Band HF Beams are available exclusively from DX Engineering in North America. Important features of InnovAntennas DXR Series Multi-Band HF Beams: * No traps, matching links, or hairpins * Only one feed line for all bands * Careful selection of materials without regard to cost * Very robust construction with still manageable package size The DXR Series beams use a 1.97 x 1.97 in. (50 x 50 mm) square boom with 0.078 in. (2 mm) wall thickness. A square boom has the advantage that the elements cannot twist in the plane. On the other hand, it is slightly heavier than a round boom of the same stiffness. The DXR Yagis do not require any bracing of the boom. The longest elements are 1.378 in. (35 mm) diameter in the middle and taper relatively quickly to achieve a good compromise between weight and strength. This construction also helps to avoid constant vibration even in light winds. With these multi-band Yagis, care has been taken to ensure that there are never more than the elements of three bands nested within each other. This is because each additional element for one band can cause interference on another band. This negative effect was avoided by careful manual optimization. The result is the best possible matching over a wider band range than other antenna designs. In most cases, no tuner is necessary; the SWR minimum can be precisely set by adjusting the element lengths. Due to the robust construction and the absence of moving or electrically active components such as coils, traps, hairpins, etc., an InnovAntennas DXR beam is maintenance-free for many years. The insulators are UV-resistant and designed for a wide temperature range. The mounting hardware uses sea-water resistant stainless steel and the aluminum is type T6 6066/6082, which is also used in aviation. It is nice not to have to climb the mast every year to maintain the antenna. The DXR Series Multiband beams are designed to require only one feed line. This makes installation on a mast with a rotor very easy. And the use of modern SDR transceivers, which allow the observation of several bands at the same time, becomes really useful. The one feed line is connected directly to the solid distribution rails of the fed elements. By avoiding baluns, matching elements, traps, or hairpins for tuning, transmit power is only limited by the coaxial cable and connectors. Note: Front-to-back ratio (F/B) and SWR bandwidth data for the DXR Series will be added as it becomes available. Many models of the DXR Series are available as a "super-compact" version, on which the longest elements have been shortened with capacity hats, thus reducing their turning radius considerably. The installation of these impressive antennas is possible even where space is limited.

InnovAntennas 10 Element HF Band Optimized Log Periodic Antenna

InnovAntennas 10 Element HF Band Optimized Log Periodic Antenna is a super wideband, high performance beam that covers the frequency range of 14 to 30 MHz. The advantage of this antenna type is the extreme broadband performance with an even gain curve without dips. This makes this antenna suitable not only for amateur radio, but also for commercial services and for demanding SWLs. Through careful calculations and practical optimization, the spacing and lengths of the elements have been chosen to favor the amateur radio bands 20/17/15/12 and 10 meters, creating the Band Optimized Log Periodic Antenna, hence the name "BOLPA". Hundreds of hours optimizing both SWR and performance within the Amateur bands resulted in exceptional mono-band style performance for InnovAntennas BOLPA-10. This antenna provides a uniform gain of approximately 7 dBi over the entire frequency range and a front-to-back ratio over 20 dB on all but 12 meters with an SWR of mostly better than 1.5:1. The boom length of 25.3 ft. (7.7m) is relatively short for an antenna of this type. Since only one 50 ohm feed line is necessary, this broadband antenna is especially well suited for use with modern SDR transceivers that are able to receive on several HF bands simultaneously. This LPDA's double boom is made of 1.75 in. (44 mm) square aluminum, each supporting the alternately arranged elements and provides the support for the bracing in the middle. Both boom tubes serve as feed lines for high power operations on any band with no tuning adjustments necessary. A common mode choke or balun may be used. High quality aircraft grade aluminum, as well as stainless steel parts, means the BOLPA-10 is also designed for adverse weather and high wind speeds of up to 99 mph (160 kph). Some of InnovAntennas HF Log Periodic Dipole Array mechanical design benefits include: * Marine grade stainless steel hardware (wherever possible) * Integrated feed line/boom for maximum efficiency, minimum wind-load * Mill finished for highest levels of accuracy and performance * First-of-kind "Band Optimized" LPDAs by G0KSC InnovAntennas BOLPA-10 technical performance data: * Gain: 6.9 to 7.5 dBi (4.75 to 5.4 dBd) * Gain at 33 ft. (10m) above ground at 14.150 MHz: 11.56 dBi (including ground gain) * Typical F/B: Over 20 dB * Power rating: 5,000 watts (further limited by feedline and connectors) * Feed impedance: 50 ohm, stud connections * Boom length: 25.3 ft. (7.7 m) * Longest element: 42.6 ft. (13 m)

InnovAntennas LFA-Q 4 Element 50 MHz Loop Quad Beams

InnovAntennas LFA-Q 4 Element 50 MHz Loop Quad Beam from G0KSC represents significant development of LFA Yagis with a substantial difference. The LFA-Q (Loop Fed Array Quad) uses top and bottom booms and through-boom LFA Yagi-style loops arranged vertically for every element. This very rugged design achieves better gain for a given length of boom than standard or LFA Yagi. Also, instead of using symmetrical square or triangular loops, the shape of the loops has been compressed into rectangular form, so the short side sections are exactly 180 degrees out of phase resulting in a cancellation effect, like a balanced line. InnovAntenna LFA-Q achieves great rejection to the sides and the rear of the antenna while retaining excellent gain, f/b and SWR bandwidth across the band. These are amazingly compact, high gain antennas constructed to withstand serious weather conditions! The 50MHz 4 Element LFA-Q is made with tapered elements one-half inch (12.7mm) center sections and 3/8 inch (9.525mm) outer sections. The antenna has fully insulated elements which will ensure continuous, high performance for years to come. The LFA-Q has a twin-boom system, 32mm square with 1.6mm wall thickness. Two boom-to-mast brackets are provided, one on each boom, formed from marine grade stainless steel. Both brackets include 2 square U-bolts for the boom and 2 round U-bolts for the supporting mast. InnovAntennas LFA-Q 4 Element 50 MHz Loop Quad Beam Specs: Gain: 11.26dBi @ 50.150MHz F/B: 29.9dB @ 50.150MHz Peak Gain: 11.3dBi Peak F/B: 30.3dB Power Rating: 5kw+ SWR: Below 1.3:1 from 50.00MHz to 50.400MHz Stacking Distance: 5-8m (7m recommended) 2 Stacked Gain @ 7m spacing: 14.35dBi (free space) 2 Stacked F/B: 27.41dB 2 Stacked Gain @ 5.1m Spacing 15m above ground: 19.25dBi Boom Length: 4m.
