DX Engineering Portable Receive Preamplifier-Attenuator DXE-NL-PRE-ATT-1 – A very handy device to use with your receiver; handheld, portable or base. This attractive, light-weight unit comes completely assembled and tested, and provides a nominal 30 dB gain across the frequency range from 100 kHz through 30 MHz. Powered by an internal 9 volt battery (not included), it features BNC connectors for RF Input and Output, easy to use slide switches and a 'power on' LED when the preamp is on. Attenuation is selected with switches for -10 dB or -20 dB and -30 dB with both. Plus, an AM Broadcast Band Rejection Filter can be switched in or out, as needed. This unit measures 3.25 x 7.00 x 1.00 in. (WHD) and weighs approx. 8.5 oz. with the user supplied 9V battery installed. This preamplifier has a Noise Figure (NF) of 4.5 dB. This Portable Preamplifier-Attenuator is a perfect companion device for use with the DXE-NOISELOOP WD8DSB Portable Receive Flag Antenna Kit, for RFI noise finding and for MW through SW receiving. NOTE: The DXE-NL-PRE-ATT-1 Portable Receive Preamplifier-Attenuator is a Receive Only device. Attempting to transmit RF into this unit will cause damage that is not covered by warranty.

I0JXX LNA Receive Preamplifiers offer high gain amplification with very low internal noise for VHF and UHF amateur band optimized devices used world-wide by experimenters and contest enthusiasts. Excellent receive-only performance at low current is achieved by these compact 12VDC units, available in two connector configurations: SMA female input and output, or Type N male input and female output. LNA (low noise amplifiers) offer preamplification using ultra-low noise components as good or better than most receiver front ends, to preserve the capabilities of a low-noise antenna system. Typically, they do not have relays in the signal path that might introduce noise or loss. These devices can be used directly in most receive applications and may be used to build a sequencer-controlled Receive-Transmit relay system for two-way VHF or UHF communications.
