Alpha Delta Antenna Hardware Kits

Alpha Delta Antenna Hardware Kits contain one DELTA-C Center Insulator, antenna connection hardware, one model SEP arc-plug static electricity protector that is installed on the back of the DELTA-C, and two model DELTA-CIN End Insulators. These kits are a great way to build wire antennas! The antenna hardware is constructed using Alpha Delta's exclusive Model Delta-C Center Insulators and model CIN End Insulators. They're molded from Deltalloy, an extremely tough and durable plastic specifically blended to withstand sunlight and extreme weather conditions. An SO-239 connector is provided for a direct connection to the PL-259 on your coaxial cable. Or, a ladder-line balanced feedline may be connected directly to the dipole wire ends. If a balanced feedline is used with an antenna tuner in non-resonant applications, the SEP arc-plug must be removed to prevent the "false triggering" of the gas tube. The ALP-SEP arc-plug static electricity protector is a special gas tube component designed to bleed off slow-rising static electricity buildup generated by thunderstorms, high-wind driven snow, sand, or even a harmless looking cloudy day. These static charges have been measured to several thousand volts and can damage or destroy sensitive components in receivers' or transceivers' front-end circuitry. Note: When the "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. DX Engineering EZ-BUILD® UWA Center-T and End Insulator Kits

DX Engineering EZ-BUILD® UWA Center-T and End Insulator Kits are designed for building wire antennas for high-power operations. This model will mount to any DX Engineering Balun for a balanced and isolated wire antenna, or this insulator kit may be used directly with DX Engineering 300 Ohm Ladder Line for a non-resonant multi-band dipole. All EZ-BUILD® kits include our lightweight, high strength, UV-protected center-T and end insulators. They feature an exclusive serpentine wire grip for insulated DX Engineering antenna wire and our high strength, high power 300 ohm ladder (window) line. Threading the wire or window line through the center and end insulator openings in a serpentine manner creates a grip that is so strong, the wire ends do not need to be looped, wrapped, or soldered. EZ-BUILD® kits allow for fast and easy field adjustments! The DX Engineering EZ-BUILD® Center-T includes a centered top 3/8 in. hole for the attachment of an antenna support rope, and the End Insulators accept up to 5/16 in. antenna support rope. Our EZ-BUILD® kits simplify the construction of your wire antenna, with wire crimp terminals and stainless steel hardware. For a wire antenna, built with a DX Engineering Balun at the feed-point, the coax feedline may be secured with the optional DX Engineering Coax Strain Relief which features an aluminum bracket, neoprene-cushioned P-clamps, and stainless steel hardware. This method supports the feedline without subjecting the balun connector to the strain of the coaxial cable's weight or movement. DX Engineering EZ-BUILD® UWA Center-T and End Insulator Kits let you create any type of wire antennas, including single-band, multi-band, multi-frequency, folded dipole, doublet and inverted-V, off-center fed, Windom, Zepp, long wires, rhombic, V-beam, or loop antennas. EZ-BUILD® UWA Center-T may be used as a strain relief for our 300-ohm ladder line at the ground end or house end of the run, or as the strain relief on the feed end of a vertical wire or long wire antenna. Since soldering is not necessary when building an antenna with this kit, it is perfect for Field Day use, portable operations, or even for the weekend experimenter. However, it is certainly the best choice for your permanent wire antenna system. This UWA-KIT is for building a wire antenna with any DX Engineering Balun or 300 Ohm Ladder Line. Use the EZ-BUILD® UWA213-KIT for the construction of an RG-213 or RG-8U coax fed wire antenna without a balun, that will be operated at high power and high duty cycle modes of operation, such as AM, RTTY, or FM. The UWA8X-KIT will handle low and medium power levels and tolerate low SWR levels. DX Engineering EZ-BUILD® UWA Center-T and End Insulator Kits include: -- One center-T insulator featuring an exclusive no-loop, no-solder wire, multiple wire, or 300 ohm ladder line serpentine grip design, which allow for the rapid field adjustment of wire lengths; the center-T includes a centered top hole for attaching support ropes -- Two end insulators featuring the no-loop, no-solder, serpentine grip design -- Two stainless steel wire connection bolts, nuts, and washers. -- Six crimp ring terminals for antenna and ladder line wire connections -- Additional stainless steel hardware for mounting DX Engineering baluns DX Engineering baluns, antenna wire, 300 ohm ladder line, and support rope are sold separately. Only your imagination is the limit to the practical applications for which this useful insulator system may be used. It is made from a very strong UV resistant poly-resin plastic that can handle the weight of huge wire antennas, and a DX Engineering balun as well as the attached coaxial cables. Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. So, keeping an inexpensive EZ-BUILD® DXE-UWA-KIT on hand for your next wire antenna project is a great idea!

Mastrant Antenna Support and Guy Line Ropes

Mastrant Antenna Support and Guy Line Ropes are available in several sizes and strength ratings, perfect for support of wire antennas, vertical antennas and antenna masts, as well as support of Yagi booms and elements. Mastrant ropes are of the highest quality for strength and are UV-protected for extended longevity. MASTRANT-O is a highly reflective rope (bright orange plus braided reflective tape) based on long-term proven Polyester (Dacron) product line. It is designed for maximum visibility in public places such as Field Day and POTA activities. Like all Mastrant ropes, it is UV stable and resistant to all weather conditions. It has low weight, great abrasion resistance, great durability and is nonconductive (no effect whatsoever on your antenna). Moreover, in contrast to ropes made from aramid fibers (Kevlar, Vectran, Technora, Twaron), it has knot strength about 60 %. Mastrant-P and Mastrant-R Ropes are stronger than other synthetic ropes of the same size, made from proven modern polyester. Mastrant-Q is a new rope made from a blend of polyester and polypropylene, designed specifically for guying applications. It offers an excellent performance-to-price ratio and has a knot strength of approximately 60%. It replaces Mastrant-P in diameters of 6 mm (1/4 in.) and larger. Mastrant-S is a similar polyester/polypropylene rope, distinguished by its highly reflective strands for increased visibility. Mastrant-M is their highest strength rope with the Dyneema® DM20 core, a superior synthetic rope offering high performance at an affordable price. Very high strength, negligible elongation, very low weight, and great abrasion resistance are all attributes that make Mastrant-M the best rope for guying. Larger, stronger sizes of Mastrant-M are used in Europe and other parts of the world for tower guying. Durability and safety are of prime concern to ensure that an antenna installation remains fully operational for a long time. Antennas and guy lines are exposed to changing weather conditions, mechanical strain, UV radiation, humidity, and more. These non-conductive synthetic fibers have all the necessary qualities: high strength, negligible stretch but good flexibility, long life, low moisture collection, fast drying, a minimum bending radius adding the ability to tie knots, good UV radiation resistance, weather durability and resistance to acids and alkali. Conversely, steel guying wires are heavy, difficult to work with, and their strength deteriorates with time due to corrosion and general aging. Electrical conductivity of steel guys is an undesirable feature, as they interact with the antennas and adversely modify radiation patterns. Thanks to recent developments in synthetic materials, both amateur and professional users are changing over to non-conductive guys and ropes. Mastrant offers these products for a variety of applications, from thin support lines used for wire antennas and beams, to rope guys for supporting small and portable masts and vertical antennas. When you need quality rope to install, replace, or modify your antenna systems, consider Mastrant Antenna Support and Guy Line Ropes, now available from DX Engineering.

DX Engineering TWIG End Fed Half Wave QRP Antenna Feedpoint Kits

DX Engineering TWIG End Fed Half Wave QRP Antenna Feedpoint Kits are a compact, essential component for building a low-power (QRP) end-fed half-wave antenna system. Perfect for portable operations and outdoor activities such as POTA® or SOTA™, this feedpoint kit simplifies setup while delivering reliable performance. The TWIG is rated for 25W SSB, 10W CW, and 5W Digital modes, delivering an SWR of less than 2:1 without an antenna tuner. At its core, the TWIG features a 49:1 transformer that matches the impedance of the user supplied half-wave element wire to 50-ohms, ensuring compatibility with most QRP transceivers. The BNC female connector pairs easily with recommended coax cables, and when the element wire is properly tuned, no external tuner is required—reducing the amount of gear you need to carry. The kit includes a built-in quick connector designed for 24/26 AWG antenna wire, making element installation fast and secure. Two end insulators and clips are also provided, ensuring reliable strain relief and easy attachment of the antenna wire in the field. Installation is quick and straightforward, allowing you to get on the air fast and start making contacts. No additional counterpoise wire is necessary; the coax cable serves that function when installed correctly. For best results, use optional 24/26 AWG wire such as CEW-VIZ24-YEL100, a high-visibility, PVC-insulated stranded copper wire. A typical setup uses a sloper configuration, with the feedpoint about 6–7 feet above ground and the wire sloping upward to 25–30 feet. Recommended coax length is 25–35 feet with BNC connectors and adding an optional DXE-LPFC-BNC Feedline Choke at the transceiver end is suggested. While the antenna supports multiple configurations, wire length will vary based on installation.

DX Engineering Cable Strain Relief Kits

DX Engineering Cable Strain Relief Kits are designed to be used with DX Engineering and COMTEK Baluns, are included in certain Universal Wire Antenna insulator kits, and are offered with two cable clamp sizes to cover most popular sizes of coaxial cables. They may be used in many other applications with only a single point of suspension necessary. Long runs of coaxial cable are heavy, and if they are not properly restrained, the weight of the cable can cause a failure in your feedline connection. In some cases, the cable can pull completely out of the PL-259 connector. DXE Cable Strain Relief Kits are manufactured with corrosion-resistant aluminum and supplied with stainless steel hardware. These kits are very durable and will ensure that the cable stays connected, to keep you on the air. Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. Don't use the antenna and coax connector to support your cable! Use DX Engineering Cable Strain Relief Kits and relieve that strain!

SOTAbeams HF Antenna Trap Kits

SOTABEAM HF Antenna Trap Kits are a clever design with flexible mounting arrangements to make them easy to build and use. They are available in two power levels, 100 watt traps are listed here as SBM-HFAT-101 and 20 watt traps are SBM-HFAT-102. Each kit includes parts to build two (2) traps. Make your portable single band antenna into a multi-bander with our lightweight antenna traps. You decide on the frequency when you build them; recommended range 7 - 25 MHz. Alignment of each trap is accomplished easily with an antenna analyzer. For QRP super lightweight traps, see SOTAbeams PICO TRAPS for 10 Watts (DX Engineering part SBM-PITK-100). Included in each SOTABEAMS HF Antenna Trap kit: -2 x high quality trap PCBs with plated through holes -4 x 100pF 1kv capacitors (used in series or parallel to give 50pF, 100pF and 200pF options) -2 x mounting hardware for toroids -2 x toroids (T94-6 for 100W and a lighter T68-6 toroid for 20W) -Enameled copper wire to suit the power level Traps can be used in one of two ways. These SOTAbeams traps can be used either way, it's your choice: 1) By using a trap resonant on the higher frequency that you want your antenna to work on, traps work as an effective isolator. In this application, the trap needs to be resonated in the band. This configuration makes the antenna easy to adjust as the sections do not interact much. In this configuration, our traps show a loss of typically < 0.7 dB. 2) By using a trap resonant between the two bands that you want to use (typically 1 to 2 % percent below the band edge of the higher band), losses are reduced but adjusting the antenna is much more difficult as the two sections interact. In this configuration our traps show a loss of typically < 0.3dB. We recommend that you resonate your traps at the lowest edge of the band that the trap is to work at. So for a 20m-40m dipole, resonant your trap at 14.0 MHz. This tends to be a reasonable compromise between trap loss and ease of antenna adjustment. Instructions are linked in the Documents tab on the "More Detail" page. SOTAbeams HF Antenna Trap Kits Specifications: PCB Dimensions: 2.599 x 1.181 in. (66 x 30 mm) Insertion Loss: 0.3 – 0.75 dB depending upon resonant frequency Impedance at resonance: 20,000 Ohms, typical Weights: 20 W traps 0.4 oz. (10.6 g), 100 W traps 0.6 oz. (16 g)

Par EndFedz® Antennas

Par EndFedz® Antennas are End Fed Half Wave (EFHW) antennas with the match box coax connection at the end of the wire, for convenient and quick stealth portable operations. These single-band and multi-band antennas can be mounted horizontally, vertically, or as a sloper. No ground plane or counterpoise is needed so portable operation could not be easier. Simply hang the far end from a tree limb or send the wire out a hotel room window or balcony. You can use a telescoping fiberglass mast to get the antenna really high in the air and the supplied end insulators the installation easy. Stealth operation in CC&R and HOA antenna restricted locations is simplified. Their all-black construction makes them difficult to see. Each Par EndFedz® features a UV-resistant black ABS plastic housing with a support rope attachment hole that encloses a matching network to allow the antenna to be fed with standard 50 ohm coaxial cable with a PL-259 (UHF male). All hardware is stainless steel and the SO-239 (UHF female) connector is silver plated and has a PTFE dielectric. The antenna wires are either 18 or 26 AWG stranded Copperweld® with 200 pound breaking strength and a tough, 100% UV stable black polyethylene jacket. One end of the antenna wire has a #10 solder lug making attachment to the matching network feedpoint simple and easily replaceable, if necessary. Standard single and multi-band versions handle 100 or 200 watts and higher power versions handle 300 watts. Lightweight QRP PolyStealth models handle 25 watts and are ideal for portable operation because they are lightweight; the MKII model weighs only 8 ounces and the Trail Friendly model weighs only 3.5 oz. Par EndFedz® Antennas require no counterpoise or extra conductors. The EF-ALLBAND-KW model, about 133 ft. in length, covers eight bands, 80 through 10 meters. The ALLBANDKWJR is 74 ft. in length and operates on five bands, 80-10 meters. The 64 ft. EF-40-10-KW operates on four bands. All three models handle up to 1000 watts SSB/CW and 250 watts AM/Digital Modes. The need for an external tuner may vary based on the antenna model selected and the desired operating band. The manufacturer refers to these antennas as "End-Fed Dipoles" based upon the assertion that a "half-wave radiator is a dipole." This is a variant of the classic definition of a dipole which is a center-fed antenna with two radiating legs running in opposite directions from the feed point. Additional claims about the EFHW state that end feeding a half-wave "can energize the radiator 'nearly' as well as a center-fed." Recent anecdotal measurements indicate that the EFHW radiates about 70% as well as a traditional center-fed dipole. More information is available at each Par EndFedz® model listed below. In that application, the length of the feeder between the transformer and the tuner must be kept to about 6 ft. These Antenna Centers have a 4:1 matching transformer that is sometimes referred to as a balun. This isn't a choke, so strictly speaking it's not a choke balun, but it's typically referred to as a voltage balun. This transformer is designed with a lip that can be sealed using a silicone sealant if required for use in more permanent installations. We do not supply the Balun sealed as this allows users to gain access to the enclosure and allow any buildup of moisture to drain away.
