DX Engineering Transmit Receive Interrupter Plug-In Module

DX Engineering Transmit Receive Interrupter Plug-In Module, DXE-TRI-PM, provides essential protection from the station's transmitted energy picked up by a receive antenna that is connected to the DXE-NCC-2 Channel B Receive Antenna Input active front end. This optional custom PCB relay switch device is typically installed in the top Option Slot of the Channel B rear panel board in the NCC-2. When the transceiver keys the RADIO PTT port of the NCC-2, the DXE-TRI-PM can open or ground the receive antenna input and the board output, as selected by jumpers. It functions independently and does not affect or depend on the settings of the NCC-2 Bias-Tee Enable circuit that places DC on the receive antenna feedline for Active antennas. The DXE-TRI-PM is only in the path of the receive antenna input. It also features a Gas Discharge Tube to protect the front end of the NCC-2 while in the receive mode. Adding a second DXE-TRI-PM Transmit Receive Interrupter Plug-In Module to the the top slot of the NCC-2 Channel A rear panel board is recommended. The gas tube provides pulse energy protection during receive and disconnect or grounding protection when the CH A RX ANT IN port is used for a receive antenna that is physically too close to the transmit antenna. Adding a DXE-TRI-PM can provide input protection for the RTR-2 RX ANT IN during receive and by grounding the receive antenna input during transmissions. Alternatively, the DXE-TRI-PM installed in the DXE-DMC-2 Dual Module Chassis can interrupt or ground any receive antenna feedline or a receiver input. Jumper settings select opening or grounding of the receive antenna input and receiver output. This receive feedline RF switch is operated by toggling 13.8 VDC, on for Receive and off when Transmitting. The DMC-2 PCB jumper HD5 selects operating DC from either the 2.1mm power connector or the "Receiver Output" coaxial cable with a user supplied DC Bias-Tee device, such as the DXE-FVI-1 Feedline Voltage Injector. Remote outdoor installation requires a weather resistant cover.

SOTAbeams HF Antenna Trap Kits

SOTABEAM HF Antenna Trap Kits are a clever design with flexible mounting arrangements to make them easy to build and use. They are available in two power levels, 100 watt traps are listed here as SBM-HFAT-101 and 20 watt traps are SBM-HFAT-102. Each kit includes parts to build two (2) traps. Make your portable single band antenna into a multi-bander with our lightweight antenna traps. You decide on the frequency when you build them; recommended range 7 - 25 MHz. Alignment of each trap is accomplished easily with an antenna analyzer. For QRP super lightweight traps, see SOTAbeams PICO TRAPS for 10 Watts (DX Engineering part SBM-PITK-100). Included in each SOTABEAMS HF Antenna Trap kit: -2 x high quality trap PCBs with plated through holes -4 x 100pF 1kv capacitors (used in series or parallel to give 50pF, 100pF and 200pF options) -2 x mounting hardware for toroids -2 x toroids (T94-6 for 100W and a lighter T68-6 toroid for 20W) -Enameled copper wire to suit the power level Traps can be used in one of two ways. These SOTAbeams traps can be used either way, it's your choice: 1) By using a trap resonant on the higher frequency that you want your antenna to work on, traps work as an effective isolator. In this application, the trap needs to be resonated in the band. This configuration makes the antenna easy to adjust as the sections do not interact much. In this configuration, our traps show a loss of typically < 0.7 dB. 2) By using a trap resonant between the two bands that you want to use (typically 1 to 2 % percent below the band edge of the higher band), losses are reduced but adjusting the antenna is much more difficult as the two sections interact. In this configuration our traps show a loss of typically < 0.3dB. We recommend that you resonate your traps at the lowest edge of the band that the trap is to work at. So for a 20m-40m dipole, resonant your trap at 14.0 MHz. This tends to be a reasonable compromise between trap loss and ease of antenna adjustment. Instructions are linked in the Documents tab on the "More Detail" page. SOTAbeams HF Antenna Trap Kits Specifications: PCB Dimensions: 2.599 x 1.181 in. (66 x 30 mm) Insertion Loss: 0.3 – 0.75 dB depending upon resonant frequency Impedance at resonance: 20,000 Ohms, typical Weights: 20 W traps 0.4 oz. (10.6 g), 100 W traps 0.6 oz. (16 g)

DX Engineering Low Power Balun Center Insulators

DX Engineering LPB-B Low Power Balun Center Insulators feature an amazing Hi-CMI 50-ohm 1:1 Balun built onto a Center Insulator board, and a BNC female right-angle connector pre-installed. Designed for portable operations on HF bands, these baluns let you join the fun of making a high-performance Single Band or Multi-Band Linked Dipole! This coax wound toroid achieves an amazing common mode impedance (CMI) curve, with an RF choking capability that far exceeds 'a-few-beads-on-coax' products that are offered by other suppliers, and they can handle up to 250 watts on SSB voice, or 100 watts or less on CW or Digital modes on frequencies below a 2:1 SWR. They are designed for building a center supported Inverted Vee Dipole (not end supported) and are great for use with DX Engineering Nomad Portable Telescopic Masts (sold separately). Great for POTA, SOTA and JOTA, low-cost DIY Low Power Balun Center Insulators are ready for use on a monoband resonant or link-clip multi-band resonant wire antenna for portable or long-term temporary operations. These Low Power Balun Center Insulators are the heart of the DX Engineering Low Power Portable Dipole and Winder Kits.
