WiMo X-Quad Antennas
WiMo X-Quad Antennas, with separate monoband models for 144-146 MHz or 430-440 MHz, represent a refinement of VHF and UHF cross-polarized Yagis. They are well-known in Europe as "multi-element quads"—an antenna with aluminum elements, not a wire and fiberglass antenna—which offer excellent gain with a relatively short boom length. X-Quads are a great solution due to their short length and lightweight construction, especially for VHF/UHF satellite systems which require rotation in all compass directions and elevations. Two X-Quad Antennas, one for 144-146 MHz and one for 430-440 MHz, may be mounted at opposite ends of an azimuth-elevation rotator cross-boom for high-performance full duplex Satellite operations. For either or both bands, X-Quad Antennas may instead be used in a stationary mount, as pictured, for all-mode terrestrial operations. In either application, multiple X-Quad Antennas may be stacked vertically and horizontally for additional gain and tighter patterns. The WiMo X-Quad special features, developed specifically for Satellite Amateur Radio include: * Switchable Polarization Plane; horizontal/vertical/right hand circular/left hand circular (remote switching requires optional equipment) * High gain compared to other antenna forms due to the "stacking effect" * Short boom length and compact design * Back-end boom or mid-boom centered mounting to the mast is possible The radiator element is a "stacked quad" multi-element beam, for which linear polarization can be compared to a crossed slotted radiator. However, the advantage of the X-Quad is that it can be optimally used for the desired polarization by simply changing the feed. Compared to a typical cross-polarized Yagi, all directors and reflectors are active in the X-Quad, which enables the compact design. As with cross-polarized Yagis, switching is accomplished on the mono-band X-Quad either by a coaxial relay or with a band specific WiMo Remote Polarization Switch (sold separately). If the remote switch is mounted at the antenna, then only one coax cable and a 4-conductor control cable are required, sold separately. If the Switch is used at the station, then two coaxial cables from the antenna to the station are needed. The WiMo X-Quad Antenna can also be permanently set for circular operation by using an optional, band-specific Phase Line. The secondary elements are arranged diagonally in relation to the square-shaped driven element, which corresponds to the voltage distribution on the radiating element, for the most favorable results. In comparison to Yagi antennas, the X-Quad pattern and tuning are affected less by the influence of external fields, making them ideal for installation under a roof, in an attic space. All elements are electrically conductively connected with boom and cable outer sheath, thus eliminating interference from atmospheric noise. Two Type-N female coaxial connectors, one for each polarization, are mounted in a housing that is waterproof. Boom and elements are made of aluminum, all hardware is stainless steel. Construction and design of the antennas are protected by law (DBGM). The antennas are designed for boom-end mounting; however, alternatively the mast clamp can be mounted in the middle of a non-metallic boom. These antennas have a split boom, so their transport length is only 29.53 in. (75cm) for the 2m antenna and 25.59 in. (65cm) for the 70cm X-Quad. For portable operations they can be stowed away comfortably in the trunk of car and their shipping costs are comparatively low.

Hustler G-3754 37-54 MHz Monoband Vertical Antennas
Hustler G-3754 37-54 MHz Monoband Vertical Antennas are full size 5/8 wave, 6 meter vertical antennas from Hustler. They were developed in the early 1970s and have been available ever since. Designed for commercial VHF and government VHF-Low Band use, they are extremely durable. They also provide gain of 6.4 dBi! A full size radiator with a lower radiation angle concentrates power closer to the horizon, where you want it. The elements are easily adjusted to any frequency from 37 through 54 MHz, so these antennas vary in height depending on the frequency to which they are tuned. For 6 meters, they are about 8.3 ft. tall. Tuned radials at the base of the vertical enhance electrical performance and help provide a 6 meter bandwidth of over 4.0 MHz with 2:1 SWR or less. An integral shunt-fed matching system also provides a DC path to ground to drain off static, resulting in extremely low-noise antennas. Hustler G-3754 antennas are a value-packed option for 6 meters and handle 300 watts CW/FM/AM. VHF verticals are usually mobile/repeater FM antennas but, due to their wideband coverage, you may want to use one of these in the SSB portion of the band. Purchase your Hustler G-3754 37-54 MHz Monoband Vertical Antennas from DX Engineering and start having more fun on 6 meters!

M2 Antennas Eggbeater Satellite Antennas
M2 Antennas Eggbeater Satellite Antennas offers exciting new performance characteristics for both fixed and mobile operations and will let you operate using Amateur satellites and communicate with the International Space Station! Eggbeater antennas produce smooth, omnidirectional, horizontal polarity patterns at the horizon. Above the horizon, the pattern transforms to Right Hand Circular polarization, making them a natural for OSCAR satellite use. With their spacing 1/8 wavelength above metal, as with the included Reflector Kits for base installations, the circular lobe increases by 6 dB, producing a hemispherical pattern. No rotation or steering is required. For terrestrial mobile, base, net control, contest or field day operation, increasing their distance above ground or over a metallic surface by installing the Eggbeaters without their reflector radial kit improves the horizontal radiation by up to 6 dB. This produces instantaneous communications in all directions. Hams with little room or budget for larger antennas will experience a new standard of performance with M2 Antennas Eggbeater Satellite Antennas.

M2 Antennas Polarity Switch Kits
M2 Antennas Polarity Switch Kits are specialized replacement driven elements with built-in relays that are designed to work on M2 Antennas circularly polarized antennas for the highest possible antenna performance for your satellite communications system. Circularly polarized beams are typically built with only right-hand circular polarization. However, attenuation of satellite signals can occur when attempting to receive the RF wave fronts of an opposite rotational direction, which is common in satellite communications Polarity Switch Kits modify the original antennas by adding the capability to switch between right-hand and left-hand circular polarization. This additional level of antenna capability allows the reception of both types of circularly polarized wave, for maximum signal capture. Switching is accomplished with the addition of a single DC control wire carrying positive 12 volts to the control terminal on the Polarity Switch Kit's replacement driven element block. Originally designed for NASA for many of their 100 to 500 MHz satellite and spacecraft applications, these Polarity Switches are now used by many Amateur VHF/UHF enthusiasts to enhance performance and flexibility for both terrestrial and satellite applications. The heart of each unit is a small, low loss coaxial switch carefully designed into the driven element block. Only one driven element block Polarity Switch Kit is required to achieve full right hand and left hand selection. They can handle 250W of continuous RF transmission power and present losses that are less than 0.1 dB. Installation is easy and involves only the removal of one of the original Driven Element assemblies and then mounting the Polarity Switch Kit in its place. Many Satellite enthusiasts build their new M2 Circularly Polarized Beams with Polarity Switch Kits, so their antenna systems will be fully functional from the start! Designed for horizontal polarization, they may also be mounted vertically with user-supplied hardware. These antennas are capable of transmitting on all amateur bands from 2-meters through 23-centimeters at 500 watts power! Forward gain from 105 MHz to 1,300 MHz is 11 to 13 dBi, depending on the frequency. They present an SWR of less than 2.0:1 across their entire 1,195 MHz range of operation. They are also suitable for use in scanner listening, VHF/UHF television, aviation band, government communications, and business-band radio. These log-periodics use a specially shaped aluminum boom that allows for movement of the phasing line. Additionally, distortions in the vertical and horizontal planes have been minimized and adjustment of the element-alignment is unnecessary. This results in a more uniform radiation pattern when compared to similar antennas. Create Log-Periodic antennas are very easy to assemble when compared to other log-periodic designs. Quality is seen everywhere… even the boom-to-mast bracket is made of a rugged magnesium alloy. A Type N connector is employed for maximum signal transfer at high UHF frequencies. To fully utilize the bandwidth of these antennas requires a high-quality coax, like DXE-400MAX or LMR-600. If you don't have the space or resources to put up several VHF and UHF antennas, Create CLP-5130-2N VHF/UHF Log-Periodic Antennas are truly your one-antenna solution to VHF/UHF operation up to 23 cm!

M2 Antennas 2M9X 2 Meter Yagi Antennas
M2 Antennas 2M9X 2 Meter Yagi Antennas provide two sets of elements to build either a horizontally polarized SSB-CW-Digital beam or a vertically polarized FM beam, replacing the separate 2M9SSB and 2M9FM. Performance is optimized for a specific mode and frequency range, with no compromises to achieve unneeded bandwidth. The 2M9X SSB covers 144-146 MHz and the 2M9X FM covers 145-148 MHz. Where do you want to make yourself heard? Both models are ideal building blocks for a small turning radius, high-gain stacked array. Two horizontally polarized, vertically stacked 2M9Xs yield the same gain (14.8 dBd) as M2's 33 ft. 2M5WL, but with about 1/2 the turning radius. Great for QTHs that won't permit a long boom Yagi. The 2M9X can be stacked on a cross boom for the same gain increases, and the turning radius is still a very manageable 10 ft. Always designing and building new antennas to fit the needs of amateur radio operators, the "X" Series of antennas were redesigned to keep the packaging under 48 in. long, to minimize oversize surcharges applied by shippers. The "X" Series antennas offer the same performance as its predecessor, but with shorter boom sections. The boom sections also have a thicker wall for added strength. A side benefit of the "X" Series antennas are that they are more portable with the smaller sections. At the heart of M2 Antennas VHF beams is a driven element module originally designed for maritime ATS satellite service. All connectors are O-ring sealed to the CNC-machined block. Internal connections are sealed with a space-age silicone gel with nearly four times the dielectric strength of air. The balun connectors are triple sealed on the coax and nut-sealed at the block connectors. The type N feed connector uses a gold-plated, beryllium copper center pin. Elements are 6061-T6 3/16 in. solid rod with UV stabilized polyethylene Button insulators and stainless steel keepers. Thousands of these type elements are in amateur and commercial service with NO failures! Booms are constructed of 6061-T6 aluminum alloy tubing. EAntenna EA6J 6-Meter Vertical Antennas
EAntenna EA6J 6-Meter Vertical Antennas are classic J-Pole antennas as were designed by the German military for World War II. After the war, J-Pole antennas became very popular worldwide, as VHF and UHF operations became more common. They were even offered as commercial antennas for police and fire department use. These antennas are assembled with tubing sections that are 35, 30 and 25mm in diameter. Diameters this large achieve an impressive 2-MHz bandwidth at 50 MHz and create a very strong vertical radiator. A heavy mounting plate and stainless mast clamps provide robust support. Rated at 6 dBi gain and capable of handling 2 kW of RF, these J-Pole antennas deliver exceptional omni-directional performance at value pricing. Get on 6-meters the easy, low-cost way with EAntenna EA6J 6-Meter Vertical Antennas from DX Engineering.

WiMo Remote Polarization Switches
WiMo Remote Polarization Switches are 4-way mast-mount relays used to change the polarization plane on a WiMo X-Quad or other cross-polarized Yagi. Selectable polarization planes are horizontal, vertical, right-hand circular and left-hand circular. For each band, 2 meters and 70 cm, there are two WiMo Remote Polarization Switches models available, differing by the maximum output power. These remote control polarization switches may be used for WiMo X-Quad Antennas as well as for any third-party cross-polarized Yagi antennas. WiMo Remote Polarization Switches are mast-mountable weather-proof relay boxes equipped with Type-N connectors. Two inputs are for the antenna and one coax output goes to the transceiver. Remote operations require an additional 4-conductor DC control cable, sold separately. Switches are supplied with a mast clamp and the required 4-pin plug for the control cable. The switchbox that would be located at the station is not included. The user may use a simple chassis box or panel and a 4-position rotary switch, or automation control, with an external 12 VDC power supply to switch the relays, which draw 100 mA max. A diagram appears in the instructions (see Documentation). WiMo Remote Polarization Switches were developed in the RF lab of SSB-Electronics and are available only as a WiMo product, exclusively through DX Engineering in North America.
