Yaesu G-800DXA Medium Heavy-Duty Rotator Systems
Yaesu G-800DXA Medium Heavy-Duty Rotator Systems are azimuth positioners designed to rotate large tower-mounted amateur and professional antenna arrays under remote control from the station's operating position. These systems feature attractive compass-dial position indication controllers, with a connector port for optional computer interface for automated directional antenna positioning control. Yaesu's G-800DXA rotator design utilizes 98 heavy 3/8 in. dual-stacked circumferential ball bearings to distribute load over the full diameter of the housing. This design minimizes stress and wear and practically eliminates the possibility of destructive water entry: There is no shaft hole in the top of the housing. Instead of the usual AC motor drive used in older rotator designs, the G-800DXA use a variable-voltage DC motor, removing the need for a large starting capacitor with its potential for failure exposed to outside temperature variations. The factory-lubricated rotator unit is housed in melamine resin-coated die-cast aluminum, intended to provide maintenance-free operation under all climatic conditions. A mast alignment gauge on the rotator housing simplifies accurate mechanical alignment during installation. Tower mounted, this model handles over 20 sq. ft. of antenna wind load and over 400 lbs. of vertical mast load. Installation is required for included plug connectors on to the installer supplied 6-conductor control cable; 20 AWG for lengths less than 125 ft. and 18 AWG over 125 ft. Console power is 117 volts AC for units sold in the USA. The handsome desktop controller provides 360 degrees radial indication of actual antenna azimuth bearing. You can select rotation time over 360 degrees from 40 to 100 seconds on the G-800DXA, and preset a desired heading for the rotator, to which it then turns automatically. The operator may select the stop heading, the compass bearing through which the rotator cannot be turned, which is most convenient for their station location and operation, allowing full rotation through north, south or both, if desired. In any case, 90 degrees overlapping rotation allows rotation through the selected stop heading for 450 degrees of total rotation. These rotators are intended for mounting to an accessory shelf inside a support tower (not supplied), at least 1-meter (40 in.) below the top of the tower. Yaesu rotators have a fine reputation within the Amateur Radio community. Yaesu AAA67X021 Replacement Rotator Controllers
Yaesu AAA67X021 Replacement Rotator Controllers keep your antenna turning after controller failure. These controllers are direct replacements for the G-2800DXA, G-1000DXA or G-800DXA rotator systems. These replacement desktop controllers feature a 360 degree radial indication of the actual antenna bearing azimuth. These modern DC controllers support the selection of rotating speeds from 40 to 100 seconds per rotation (360 degrees) for either the G-800DXA or G-1000DXA, or 50 to 120 seconds per rotation (360 degrees) for the G-2800DXA, and can preset a desired heading for the rotator, to which it then turns automatically. With the G-2800DXA, when a fast rotating speed is selected, special "auto slow-start" and "auto slow-stop" features avoid sharp jolts to the antenna array and tower. Activating the rotator causes it to begin turning at slow, but increasing, speed. As the antenna approaches the desired heading, the rotation automatically slows down, before bringing the antenna to a gentle stop. The operator may select the end-of-rotation heading (the compass bearing through which the rotator cannot be turned) most convenient for his location and operation, allowing full rotation through north, south, or both, if desired. AALogic DTC-100 Version 6 Rotator Controllers
AALogic DTC-100 Version 6 Rotator Controllers are compatible with digital pulsed feedback rotators such as the Orion 2800, the Alfa SPID, The HyGain DCU-3 compatible rotators, and the DX Engineering RT4500HD. Not only will the DTC-100-V6 work with rotators that have digital pulsed feedback, it will also work with rotators that utilize resistive sensors to determine the orientation of the rotator, Rotators that utilize resistive sensors include Yaesu's G450/G800/G1000/G2800 Series rotators as well as all HyGain Rotators. The DTC-100-V6 also allows the user to set soft rotational limits for both Yaesu and HyGain rotators that incorporate mechanical limits to help keep the rotator from travelling to the mechanical stop. A full color 5-inch touch screen display fills the front panel of the DTC-100-V6. The DTC-100-V6 supports extensive calibration options when it comes to rotators that don't have 'hard limit' switches and even those that do, the user can set soft limits for stopping the rotator before the hard limit switches are set. Once the rotator type has been selected in the calibration screen, the user can set rotation limits for both clockwise and counterclockwise rotation. The configuration of the DTC-100-V6 allows the user to adjust the backlight, the start and stop brake function (needed on HyGain rotators), coast settings, and ramp up and down speeds. These settings allow for control of the rotator as it gets close to the end of its safe rotation, allowing for the rotator to coast to a stop and not jerk to a halt where you want the antenna pointing. Six memories allow the user to set frequently accessed headings to expedite a starting point of the turning the antenna. Memories can also be programmed on an ad hoc basis and not saved to work DX or for some operating event that is outside of the users' normal scope of operation. This allows for flexibility in how the controller is used. The Main operating screen of the DTC-100-V6 provides a graphical representation of where the antenna is facing, saved memories, quick access to the system configuration screen, and controls to manually turn the antenna clockwise and counterclockwise as well as stopping the rotation. The display also shows if the rotator has spun into the overlap zone, and if there is remote control of the DTC-100. The rear panel of the DTC-100-V6 includes an 8-pin terminal block, a 3.5mm TRS jack for an optional RS232TTL adapter, standard IEC-320 connector block, with fuse and power switch. A 6 foot long, 110VAC power cord is included. Also included is the mating connector for the terminal block. If you already have the line to your rotator terminated for the controller that came with your rotator, there are optional cables available for both Yaesu and HyGain rotators that allow the use of cables that are already terminated with the connectors for the vendor supplied rotator controllers and you don't wish to remove the termination to use the DTC-100-V6.
