InnovAntennas 10M or 11M LFA-Q Loop-Fed Quad Beams

InnovAntennas 10M or 11M LFA-Q Loop-Fed Quad Beams from G0KSC represents significant development of LFA Yagis with a substantial difference: LFA-Q (Loop Fed Array Quad) Beams use top and bottom booms with through-boom LFA Yagi-style loops arranged vertically for every element. This very rugged design achieves better gain for a given length of boom and much lower noise for better signal quality compared to conventional Yagi antennas. InnovAntenna LFA-Q quad structure provides high directivity, eliminating unwanted spurious radiation. They achieve great side and rear rejection while retaining excellent gain, front-to-back and SWR bandwidth across the band. These are amazingly compact, high gain directional antennas, constructed to withstand serious weather conditions! Antennas of this series can be built and tuned to operate on a 500 kHz section of the 10 meter 28 MHz Amateur Band or on the 11 meter 27 MHz Citizens Band. The desired band is easily selected by changing the length of the outer element sections during construction – exact dimensions are provided in the instructions. The driven loop element feedpoint impedance is 50 ohms which allows a direct feed at high transmitting power. Vertical stacking of two or more antennas can significantly increase directivity, gain and signal quality; an interesting alternative when available space prevents the installation of long boom beam antennas. Just like other HF quads, LFA-Q vertical loop-fed quads are inherently quieter than a Yagi of the same size, making them a perfect choice for use in any location with high ambient noise level, such as a city or densely populated neighborhood. There is a 10M or 11M LFA-Q Loop-Fed Quad Beam version that matches your space, support, and wallet: - The 2-element economy version has loop spacing booms of only 2.3 ft. (70 cm); - The 3-element compact version booms are 10.5 ft. (3.2m) in length: - The 4-element performance model boom lengths are 26.9 ft. (8.2 m). Each LFA-Q is very stable mechanically, with mast clamps on each boom, top and bottom! Thanks to the use of high-quality materials, extensive modeling and testing, the durability and reliable performance of InnovAntennas 10M or 11M Loop-Fed Quad Beams is undeniable.

DX Engineering Receive Four Square Array Electronics Package

DX Engineering Receive Four Square Array Electronics Package, DXE-RFS-SYS-2P, is for the array builder who wants to use their own passive receive verticals for a mono-band receive array. See the DXE-R4S-SYS-V3 for the Complete Receive Four Square V3 Array System with Receive Short Element Active Verticals. DX Engineering Receive Four Square Arrays dramatically improve reception of weak distant signals with excellent rejection of extraneous signals and noise. This four-direction switchable array uses time delay phasing of four physically short receiving vertical elements. The resulting directional receiving pattern is superior to four short Beverage antennas and typical two or three element arrays. The Receive Four Square is less susceptible to high angle signals than EWE, Flag, Pennant, K9AY and SAL antennas. This type of receive array, using physically short vertical elements, limits signal and noise for dramatically superior weak signal reception, as compared to full size transmitting antennas and arrays. With proper spacing of four unobtrusive, physically short vertical elements, the Receive Four Square Array System provides high performance directional receive for HF Amateur, SWL or AM DXing. Click or tap the title of a listed item for an overview - a complete description, Specifications, Required and Suggested Parts. Links to instruction manuals and charts appear in Documentation. DX Engineering Receive Four Square Arrays offer directional performance comparable to four long Beverage wire antennas, using far less land area. This Controller and Switch Console package is designed to be used with four identical, user-supplied, active or passive symmetrically-spaced ground-mounted vertical elements to provide switching for a 4-direction receiving antenna system. Passive elements will generally provide an optimized monoband receiving system. Conversely, with four DX Engineering Receive Short Element Active Vertical antennas, DXE-RSEAV-1, the properly sized array can achieve excellent directional receiving performance over three HF bands. Build an exceptionally effective, electronically rotatable, stationary receive antenna that lets you hear the DX that cannot be heard on a transmit antenna. InnovAntennas VertiGO HF Vertical Antennas

InnovAntennas VertiGO HF Vertical Antennas cover multiple bands when fed as a non-resonant radiator using a remote antenna tuner mounted at the base. They can also be fed directly as a monoband vertical and are typically and most easily installed as a ground-mounted vertical, depending on the location and the support. To achieve the matching required by modern transceivers and amplifiers, other shortened vertical radiators use traps or coils but, those components contribute to losses; power lost as heat. InnovAntennas VertiGO Antennas radiate on all bands along their entire length. Radials are required for efficient operation of any HF vertical; 16 or more ground radials are better, where their length isn't critical. A remote tuner installed at the base of the antenna provides maximum efficiency and the best performance on the bands indicated. Higher frequencies will tune but higher angle patterns will limit performance. A ferrite bead choke should be used at the remote tuner on the coaxial cable from the station to prevent it from radiating and collecting RF noise. VertiGO Vertical Antennas from InnovAntennas are available in three different height versions, each with rugged aluminum tubing sections, swaged and slit at the top for the element clamps. Brackets and clamps are included for mounting to a user supplied support pipe.

DX Engineering Tinned Copper Radial Wire Kits

DX Engineering Tinned Copper Radial Wire Kits include plentiful quantities of biodegradable staples and tinned crimp ring terminals that are easily soldered. Along with spools of the same wire as used by the most successful contest stations and DX enthusiasts for their ground-mounted vertical antennas, these kits will help your antenna system achieve optimal performance. The 16 AWG tinned solid copper wire in these kits provide an extremely cost effective solution for the high-count, full-size ground radial wire systems that are required for top-performing HF vertical antenna installations. Ground wire radials do not need to be any specific length because the earth detunes them. Fill your ground-mounted vertical space with radials that run out from the antenna feedpoint in all possible directions, as far as they can go, up to about one-quarter wavelength on the lowest frequency. Even radials that are all about one-eighth wavelength long on the lowest frequency band are just fine for multi-band verticals over reasonably conductive soils. Use longer radials on lossy soils with sand and rocks. In most cases, a greater number of short ground radials will provide greater efficiency and stronger signals than is achieved with a few long radials. DX Engineering Tinned Copper Radial Wire Kits are available in four sizes: Shorter spool kits, 500 ft. and 1,000 ft., are perfect for the single HF ground-mounted vertical. Longer spool kits, 2,500 ft. and 5,000 ft., are intended for 2-element Dual Vertical Arrays, 3-element ProStack Arrays, and 4-element Four Square Array Systems. Each kit has the appropriate number of biodegradable staples and tinned crimp ring terminals. Why is this wire the absolute best choice for any ground-mounted vertical antenna? Because, DX Engineering Tinned Copper Radial Wire will last much longer in a variety of soil conditions as compared to bare copper, copper coated steel or aluminum wires. Radials deployed with those other wire types actually corrode and degrade rather quickly. Unfortunately, they do so slowly enough that the operator does not easily perceive that degradation in terms of antenna system performance. With Tinned Copper wire, full radial system integrity is maintained for a greater number of years. Depending upon soil type, installations with DXE-TCRW16 will maintain vertical antenna performance for many, many years… and even decades. NOTE: To prevent accelerated corrosion and the possibility of noise, DO NOT use metal anchor pins (lawn staples) on Tinned Copper Radial Wire. These kits contain only the DXE-STPL-100BD Biodegradable Anchor Pins to hold down bare wire radials. Biodegradable staples allow easy installation of radial wires and will disperse in a couple years, after they are no longer needed, making them site friendly. Biodegradable staples work best in soft ground where they may be pushed or lightly tapped into the ground. Since they are a lacto-resin material they are subject to breaking in rocky or hard soil and are not intended to be hammered. DX Engineering Tinned Copper Radial Wire kits are the right choice for long lasting top-performance radial systems for your ground-mounted vertical antenna system.

The HIZ-PC-8PRO Phasing Controller and system components combine to provide an effective directional receive pattern that is electronically switchable to eight different directions. The Hi-Z Antennas Eight Element V2 Multi-Band 8 Circle Receive Array System provides enhanced signal-to-noise performance with Receive Directivity Factor (RDF) approaching 12dB and up to 35dB array front-to-back! The HIZ-PC-8PRO is the heart of this antenna which provides dramatically improved reception over transmitting antennas. It properly combines signals from eight receive short element active verticals which are each ground-mounted on a ground rod, in a circle. DXE-RSEAV-1 are sold separately, which use DXE-AVA-3 Element Amplifiers. Sharper cardioid patterns with deeper reverse nulls are developed by the 8 Circle than other arrays. This Phasing Controller and other system components provide an effective receive pattern that can be electronically rotated to eight different directions: typically, 45, 90, 135, 180, 225, 270, 315 and 360 degrees. Standard 85 ft. diameter 8 Circle Arrays provide 160-, 80- and 40-meter band coverage with an exceptional cardioid pattern, supported with the updated delay cables HIZ-DL4-60-85 (Long and Short, sold separately). Alternatively, choose HIZ-DL4-80-113 cables (Long and Short, sold separately) for a 113 ft. diameter 8 circle which increases performance on the 160 and 80 meter bands. The HIZ-MDC-8PRO is the required Manual Directional Control Switch Console, sold separately. The HIZ-PC-8PRO also serves as a replacement part for Hi-Z 8 Circle system owners to order Hi-Z PC-8PRO V2 Phasing Controller. See the listing for more information.

EAntenna VHF and UHF Directional Antennas

EAntenna VHF and UHF Directional Antennas include exciting new offerings for the 50, 144 and 430 MHz bands. Weak-signal enthusiasts will enjoy using these high quality beams with superior specs for SSB, CW, digital and satellite. Here are the original low-noise Loop Fed Array mono-band beams or Optimized Wideband Arrays for VHF and UHF. Plus there are super specialized 2 meter or 70 cm Cross Polarized Yagis and the compact EAntenna 6 meter Moxon antenna that has only a 3 ft. boom! NOTE: The dual-band beams for 2 meters and 70 cm designed by DK7ZB cover 144 to 146 MHz and 420 to 440 MHz, which is the entire band in Europe. In the USA they are suitable for use on SSB, CW, digital and satellite as a horizontally polarized antenna. They will NOT function for the American FM Simplex and Repeater band sections of 146 - 148 MHz and 440 -450 MHz. DX Engineering recommends antennas manufactured by EAntenna because their attention to detail is meticulous! These Yagi, log periodic and rotatable dipole antennas are built with only the highest quality stainless steel hardware and aircraft grade aluminum. As you look through their selections, be aware that advanced, cutting-edge computer modeling and optimization techniques were used to produce EAntenna premier HF beams and state-of-the-art VHF and UHF antennas. Their mechanical designs are very robust in every way, as most are rated for at least 100 MPH wind survival. To see additional information about each antenna, click on the "More Details" link on the antenna of interest. Then click the Specifications tab to see all of the physical and electrical characteristics of that antenna. EAntenna products are offered exclusively in North America by DX Engineering. Plus we can ship internationally! When you are making plans for a new antenna at your station, plan to look right here for the outstanding solutions by EAntenna, "The Best Choice for Your Antenna System!" NOTE: Manuals are normally supplied bilingual. If your manual lacks an English section, contact DX Engineering for an English version. IMPORTANT: EAntenna VHF and UHF Loop Fed Antennas are intended to be mounted horizontally for SSB and CW operation which is at the lower frequency end of the bands, NOT on FM. For example, the 2 meter LFA should be mounted horizontally and is tuned for use on 144-146 MHz and is not intended for FM use on 146-148 MHz. Additionally, the DK7ZB design EAntenna dual-band beams for 2 meters and 70 cm cover only 144-146 MHz and 420-440 MHz, the same European frequency range, and so they are not suitable for FM use in North America. EAntenna Cross Polarized LFA beams have both horizontal and vertical elements with only 144.0 - 144.5 MHz coverage designed specifically for EME or satellite enthusiasts.

SSB Electronic Mast-Mount Preamplifiers

SSB Electronic Mast-Mount Preamplifiers are low-noise, band-specific, weatherproof preamplifiers designed for installation near VHF and UHF antennas. Available for the 6 meter, 4 meter (Europe), 2 meter and 70 cm Amateur bands, these preamplifiers are installed in-line, at the antenna. They improve receive performance by amplifying weak signals before feedline loss can reduce them. Powering and Sequencing Most models can be powered remotely through the coaxial cable, and many modern transceivers include a built-in bias-tee for mast-mounted preamplifiers. If the transceiver or transverter system does not provide power, an external bias-tee or remote-feed unit is required. • The DCW-15 and DCW 2004B provide sequencing support. • The DCC-12 does not provide sequencing. • SP series preamplifiers include a built-in RF VOX circuit for safe operations up to 100 watts; for transmit power above 100 watts, PTT control with a sequencer is required. Some models require a direct DC connection (UHF female). • -S series preamplifiers feature lower current signal relays with slightly higher insertion loss. • MHP and MHP-S series preamplifiers versions require sequencer control (see below). Signal Filtering and Switching Built-in helix filters effectively reject out-of-band signals, helping maintain clean receive performance. Real coaxial relays handle transmit/receive switching, resulting in very low insertion loss (except for SP-S series). And each amplifier is carefully calibrated at multiple test stations before packaging. Dual-Band Models Dual-band models include built-in diplexers, so they require only one connection for the multiband antenna and one connection for the station coaxial cable. MHP Series for Demanding Stations The MHP series is designed for demanding operating environments and provides higher gain for weak-signal modes such as Tropo-DX and EME. With maximum transmit power handling of 1500 watts on 6m and 2000 watts on 2m and 70cm, these preamplifiers are well suited for contesting, DX, and EME operation. Important Note for MHP Models Bias-tee power (on the RF coax) is not supported in most MHP Preamplifiers. They must be powered directly using the appropriate cable size for the required distance, and they may only be operated with a correctly wired sequencer, such as the DCW 2004 B Sequence Controller. Transmitting high power without a directly wired sequencer is likely to damage the MHP preamplifier. Housing and Hardware All SSB Electronic Mast-Mount Preamplifiers are supplied in UV-resistant, weatherproof housings with Type N female connectors. Hot-dip galvanized clamps and stainless steel mounting hardware are included. See individual models for band coverage and detailed specifications.
