InnovAntennas 10M or 11M LFA-Q Loop-Fed Quad Beams
InnovAntennas 10M or 11M LFA-Q Loop-Fed Quad Beams from G0KSC represents significant development of LFA Yagis with a substantial difference: LFA-Q (Loop Fed Array Quad) Beams use top and bottom booms with through-boom LFA Yagi-style loops arranged vertically for every element. This very rugged design achieves better gain for a given length of boom and much lower noise for better signal quality compared to conventional Yagi antennas. InnovAntenna LFA-Q quad structure provides high directivity, eliminating unwanted spurious radiation. They achieve great side and rear rejection while retaining excellent gain, front-to-back and SWR bandwidth across the band. These are amazingly compact, high gain directional antennas, constructed to withstand serious weather conditions! Antennas of this series can be built and tuned to operate on a 500 kHz section of the 10 meter 28 MHz Amateur Band or on the 11 meter 27 MHz Citizens Band. The desired band is easily selected by changing the length of the outer element sections during construction – exact dimensions are provided in the instructions. The driven loop element feedpoint impedance is 50 ohms which allows a direct feed at high transmitting power. Vertical stacking of two or more antennas can significantly increase directivity, gain and signal quality; an interesting alternative when available space prevents the installation of long boom beam antennas. Just like other HF quads, LFA-Q vertical loop-fed quads are inherently quieter than a Yagi of the same size, making them a perfect choice for use in any location with high ambient noise level, such as a city or densely populated neighborhood. There is a 10M or 11M LFA-Q Loop-Fed Quad Beam version that matches your space, support, and wallet: - The 2-element economy version has loop spacing booms of only 2.3 ft. (70 cm); - The 3-element compact version booms are 10.5 ft. (3.2m) in length: - The 4-element performance model boom lengths are 26.9 ft. (8.2 m). Each LFA-Q is very stable mechanically, with mast clamps on each boom, top and bottom! Thanks to the use of high-quality materials, extensive modeling and testing, the durability and reliable performance of InnovAntennas 10M or 11M Loop-Fed Quad Beams is undeniable.

DX Engineering XB-5 Hexx Beam HF Antenna
The DX Engineering XB-5 Hexx Beam is a lightweight directional five-band HF antenna for the 20, 17, 15, 12 and 10 Meter bands that is ideal for permanent or temporary installations. What are the benefits of this oddly shaped HF beam antenna? There are many, such as its small turning radius and full legal-limit power handling on all bands. But the most important are that the XB-5 Hexx Beam receives signals very well and transmits RF very efficiently. Its special configuration of full-size wire elements reject noise so more signals are heard. Months of development have culminated in this advanced antenna design for easier assembly, improved SWR and better bandwidth while maintaining excellent front-to-back performance. The DX Engineering XB-5 is our best Hexx Beam to date. DXE-XB-5 is the complete HF antenna package of specialized DX Engineering XB-5 Hexx Beam components; some are new and pre-assembled. These essential components include the patented* Hexx Hub and the Stainless Steel and PTFE Rigid Flat Feeder which is fully balanced with the Maxi-Core® 20 1:1 Current Balun and Mount. Also included are the all-new Heavy-Duty "Ice" Spreader Support Ropes with thimbles and stainless steel carabiners, better fiberglass Center Post and Spreaders, the Heavy-Duty Mast Mount, newly configured Element Wire Kits with the unique DX Engineering Wire Guides and innovative Element Spacer Insulators. The DX Engineering XB-5 Hexx Beam design has a number of important advantages over other Hex Beams or a mini-Yagi: - New, easy and faster assembly - fewer parts to speed completion of the antenna project - Pre-made 4.4 mm heavy duty "ice" support ropes with thimbles and stainless steel carabiners - High CMI Balun (1:1 5kW) and Mounting Bracket included - New Heavy-duty Mast Plate with DXE Saddle Clamps - Strong fiberglass without slits - Pre-sized and pre-drilled element spacer insulators designed for simple antenna assembly and tuning adjustment - Improved SWR band coverage - Small turning radius - the XB-5 Hexx Beam has a turning radius of 11' - Gain - 5 dBi (3 dBd), depending on band - similar to 2 element Yagi, far exceeding the performance of multi-band mini-beams - Front-to-Back – greater than 20 dB, depending on band - Wind balanced - Hexx symmetry reduces torque on the rotator - Light weight – about 25 lbs. fully assembled - Wind load – only 5 square feet wind surface - Can be turned with a light duty rotator - Performs well at low heights - good results at 25 to 35 feet above ground - Handles full legal limit power – no power restriction as on competing antennas - Low Noise results - approaches performance of closed loop antennas - Full length HF antenna elements - no lossy coils or traps - Five-Band Stainless Steel/PTFE Rigid Feeder System – balanced for best pattern - Requires no matching network - direct single 50 ohm coax feed The DX Engineering XB-5 Hexx Beam is one of the best performance values on the market for a directional HF antenna. *(US Patent No. 8,669,911, US Patent No. D 624,060, British Patent No. GB248003 B)
