DX Engineering NCC-2 Receive Antenna Phasing Systems

Imagine adjusting the controls to knock out strong interfering stations or noise—and then being able to copy and log that weak DX station. By successfully combining the right antennas with the advanced phasing capabilities of the NCC-2, this is the operating thrill that every radio enthusiast can enjoy, again and again! DX Engineering NCC-2 Receive Antenna Phasing Systems are variable phasing controllers that combine the 300 kHz- 30MHz received signals from one transmit antenna and one receive antenna, or from two dedicated receive antennas. Combining signals from two stationary antennas physically spaced 1/10 to 1/2 wavelength apart creates an array pattern with signal peaks and dips called nulls. Adjusting the NCC-2 Phase and Balance controls have the effect of electronically rotating or steering that pattern. Steering the null direction to significantly weaken a local or distant interfering signal or noise is known as "Noise Cancelling." This "Noise Cancelling Controller" (NCC-2) can dramatically enhance the reception of weak signals from non-null directions. This "reverse-beam" capability on radio frequencies AM Broadcast through HF can provide amazing benefits for many types of AM DX and SWL receiving and ham radio operating. Work new DX, hear the weak station in casual regional conversations, snag the rare multiplier in contests and hear beyond the noise and interference in dire circumstances. DX Engineering NCC-2 Phasing Systems now feature the built-in RTR Receive-Transmit Interface relay system that expands the exciting benefits of antenna phasing for interference reduction in two ways: * First, the NCC-2 can combine signals from the HF transmit antenna and a separate receive antenna to effectively notch-out strong stations or noise. Almost any Amateur can now enjoy the benefits of antenna phasing and noise-nulling, even those with space limitations for separating the receiving and transmitting antennas. * Second, the user of any standard HF transceiver that lacks a separate receive antenna input can have enhanced reception of noise and signal nulling with the DXE-NCC-2 and two antennas. Rear panel SO-239, F and BNC connectors make the NCC-2 extremely versatile and easy to connect to almost any receiver or HF transceiver up to 200 watts. Redesigned with plug-in modular circuit board sockets, the NCC-2 includes one switched and powered internal slot and two passive internal slots per channel to accommodate these new options: * DXE-RPA-2-PM Receive Preamplifier Plug-In Modules (powered): one per channel for low-signal passive antennas with poor ground conditions * DXE-RG5000HD-PM Receiver Guard 5000HD Plug-In Module (passive): Front-end protection for the NCC-2 and the receiver * DXE-IT-PM 75 to 50 ohm Impedance Transformer Plug-In Module (passive): to match 75 ohm RX ANT feedlines to NCC-2 50 ohm internal impedance * NCC-2 Receive Filter Sets (passive, non-switchable): High Pass, Band Pass and Low Pass Filters for 160, 80, 40 meters typically in stock, with other band filters available individually by special order. DX Engineering NCC-2 Receive Antenna Phasing Systems offer these new additional benefits: * Multi-Color Status Indicating LEDs for Power, RTR Mode and Preamp Power CH A and CH B * New Radio Key Line Input with RX Enable Output-RTR Failsafe to prevent RF damage to NCC-2 and RX equipment * New ACC Key Line Output RCA female 'ground on transmit' pass-through for Amplifier or Accessory * New screw-on 2.1mm DC connector to prevent accidental power cable pull-out * Operates on +13.8VDC @ 2A input to power the NCC-2 and internally jumper set Bias Tee on each RX ANT ports for coax fed Active Verticals and other accessories. Offering new and experienced radio enthusiasts the next level of reception enhancements, DX Engineering model NCC-2 Receive Antenna Phasing Systems in use around the world!

WiMo QRM Eliminator

The WiMo QRM Eliminator is a simple signal phasing device that can effectively reduce or remove noise interference for dramatically improved reception from 3.5 to 60 MHz. The QRM Eliminator is based on a totally innovative concept and cannot be compared to the performance of noise blanker or DSP circuits. Removing the noise before it gets to the receiver is the superior method of interference reduction. With the WiMo QRM Eliminator you can get rid of local interference almost entirely, up to an S9 level, with the likely result of completely clear reception! You don't have to understand the cause or type of interference nor do you need to know the location of its source. It doesn't matter if the interference originates from your own station or from a welding unit hundreds of feet away. The QRM Eliminator simply connects to the antenna port of transceiver and to the antenna (or amplifier input), without any radio modifications required. An additional user supplied auxiliary receiving antenna is required, such as a properly positioned 8 ft. outdoor dipole antenna or a simple 20 ft. wire in the shack, for example. This "noise sense" antenna receives mostly unwanted signal, while the transmitting antenna receives the same interference in a different phase along with the desired signal. The QRM Eliminator allows the adjustment of the amplification and phase to cancel out the unwanted signal before it reaches the receiver front end! Noise or interference nulling can provide over 45 dB of unwanted signal suppression, in many cases resulting in clear reception of the desired signal. The QRM Eliminator is built into a shielded metal enclosure, functions over the frequency range of 3.5 through 60 MHz, and has a status LED to indicate when the unit is turned on for phasing. The unit has a built-in T/R relay with PTT control via a rear panel RCA phono connector for the transceiver amplifier keying line. The QRM Eliminator automatically switches the Main antenna connection to the transceiver during transmit. Also, simply turn the unit off to bypass the phasing unit for normal reception on the Main transmit antenna. Click "More Detail" below to see additional information about this exciting device. You may not believe the power of interference phase nulling until you have experienced it for yourself. Order the WiMo QRM Eliminator exclusively in North America from DX Engineering.

DX Engineering NOISELOOP Portable Receive Flag Antenna Kit

DX Engineering NOISELOOP Portable Receive Flag Antenna Kit is based on the design by Don Kirk, WD8DSB. Don's article on this antenna is published in the March 2021 issue of QST Magazine (used by permission). The DXE-NOISELOOP is a kit of parts to build this receive-only portable directional HF loop antenna, which measures only 48 by 24 inches plus 36 inches of mast-handle. It may be used while walking or stationary with your portable HF receiver. Oriented vertically, this loop antenna features a cardioid pattern at the horizon with a deep null of up to 30 dB rejection. It is an excellent tool for locating noise sources from 1.8 through 30 MHz and for low-noise, general coverage reception from the AM broadcast band through 30 MHz. An optional Preamplifier-Attenuator Unit, DXE-NL-PRE-ATT-1, may be attached to the loop mast handle for enhanced operations. An IC-705, a portable SW or a handheld HF receiver are excellent choices for searching for local noise sources with the NOISELOOP, around the neighborhood and even around your own home. This Portable Flag Antenna Kit includes everything needed to make the antenna: fiberglass tubing for the frame and handle, mounting plate, separate PC boards for the bifilar wound transformer and load resistor, antenna wire, coaxial cable with male BNC and stainless steel hardware. Simple hand tools and a solder iron are required for assembly. Included instructions detail assembly. This kit will typically take between 1 and 2 hours to build. The WD8DSB Portable Flag Antenna design has become a real game changer in direction finding of RFI on MF and HF frequencies, and you will also find it an invaluable tool when hunting RFI due to the following key features. *Unidirectional (unlike a tuned loop) *Broadband (unlike a tuned loop, excellent for AM DXing, SWL and Amateur) *Portable (easy to walk with while directional noise finding or HF Fox Hunting) Traditionally Flag antennas are large and designed for stationary use, but the idea for this antenna was to design a Portable Flag. It was designed to be the largest possible (to maximize gain) that would fit inside a car and it's still small enough to maintain a cardioid pattern up through 30 MHz. The portable Flag has an approximate dimension of 2 feet tall by 4 feet long which you (or a helper) can easily walk with while tracking down a signal. Unlike a tuned loop, the Portable Flag is a broadband antenna with unidirectional properties, and it's designed for direction finding from 1.8 to 30 MHz as long as an appropriate preamp is used. It's even useful for direction finding down in the AM broadcast band. The rear of the antenna produces a sharp null when pointed at the signal of interest and the sharp null is often used for direction finding versus using the broad peak which occurs when the front of the antenna is pointed at the signal of interest. Learn more about how to build this antenna kit by clicking on More Detail and the Documentation link for the Instruction Manual. DX Engineering Receiver Guard Electronic RF Limiters

DX Engineering Receiver Guard RG5000HD Electronic RF Limiters are the best choice of inline devices to protect your receiver antenna inputs. The Receiver Guard is a receive antenna input limiter specifically designed to protect a sensitive receiver front-end against high levels of RF and potential damage. At the heart of each Receiver Guard is a highly effective electronic RF limiter covering 500 kHz to 150 MHz with an insertion loss under 0.15 dB up to 50 MHz and under 0.30 dB up to 150 MHz. The multi-stage design includes a gas discharge tube for maximum pulse energy protection. The DXE-RG5000HD rejects 10 watts of catastrophic receive antenna feedline RF while passing a maximum signal of about 87 dB over S-9, which is only 25 mw, a signal level that is well below the point of front end damage. Receiver Guards are a must for multiple radio contesting stations and they provide low-cost front-end "insurance." Use them in these common high-RF situations: - Receive antennas in very close proximity to transmit antennas - Field-day operations with many transmitters in close range - Multi-transmitter contesting sites - Neighboring Amateur and CB operators - Frequent high-power mobile encounters Extensively tested and proven in real-world stations, the Receiver Guard works for all radios and offers the ultimate performance required by the upper tier of transceivers tested to have the best narrow-spaced third-order dynamic range or published RMDR (Reciprocal Mixing Dynamic Range). These are passive electronic limiters, so competitive contesting stations use separate band filters in addition to the Receiver Guard. When there are high levels of RF on your receive antennas, the DX Engineering Receiver Guard generates far less harmonic noise than other limiters on the market, which allows your station to continue to operate safely and competitively. At normal HF signal levels the RG5000HD operates continuously with no effect on the performance of your station while providing the best possible protection for your radio. Here are key Receiver Guard features: * Keeps stray high levels of RF from damaging your receiver input * Ideal for separate 160 and/or 80 meter receive systems with large pulse and RF energy capture area * Uses state of the art components for maximum protection of receivers * Under 6 ns response time * Multi-Stage protection * Very low insertion loss * Uses BNC type connectors to avoid accidental connection to a transmit feedline * Has been developed and tested in world-recognized multi-multi contest station K3LR Specifications - DX Engineering Receiver Guard model DXE-RG-5000HD - Frequency Range: 0.5 through 150 MHz - Insertion Loss: < 0.15 dB up to 50 MHz, < 0.3 dB 50 MHz up to 150 MHz - VSWR: < 1.2:1 - Maximum Output Level at 10 W input: +14 dBm (0.025 W) - Maximum Power Handling: 10 W CCS (Continuous Commercial Service) - Device Impedance: 50 to 75 ohms, unbalanced - Connectors, Input and Output: BNC female Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. (2.6m) aluminum tubing whip, insulated mounting plate and the completely new DXE-AVA-3 Active Matching Unit. Its state-of-the-art broadband operational amplifier design works as a high-impedance buffer between the short antenna element and RG6U 75-ohm coax. When installed in the appropriate location, RSEAV antennas provide significantly better weak signal reception than other active receive antennas and full-size transmit-capable antennas, with substantially reduced noise and lower spurious signal interference. Receive Short Element Active Vertical Antennas are intended to be mounted on a ground rod at ground level in a clear area away from all metal, towers and other antennas. They are sold individually (DXE-RSEAV-1), or with a bias tee (DXE-RSEAV-1FVI) and DXE-RSEAV-1 Receive Short Element Active Verticals set a new standard for "Active Receive Vertical Antennas" replacing legacy DXE-ARAV-3, ARAV-2, ARAV-1 and AL-24 versions. Use multiple DXE-RSEAV-1 for all 4 and 8 element DX Engineering Receive Arrays – all 3, 4 and 8 element Hi-Z Antennas Arrays – and 2 element receive arrays with DXE-NCC-2 and NCC-1 Variable Phasing Controllers. The DXE-RSEAV-1 is designed to be a very low-gain, low-noise antenna for greatly improved signal-to-noise performance over a very wide range of frequencies. In a proper single or multi-element array installation, this Receive Vertical antenna will attenuate high-angle skywave signals, which is the goal for a low band DXing receive antenna. Low-angle, long-range DX signals are easier to copy with a good radio and DX Engineering Receive Short Element Active Vertical Antennas. Please Note: To achieve the expected reception pattern, multi-element phased arrays depend upon identical gain and phase response from each element. Every individual element amplifier, its grounding, and even its feedline characteristics and length, must be identical to the others in the array. Therefore, when unrepairable failures occur, it is essential to replace or upgrade all the elements in the array with identical, fully compatible DXE-RSEAV-1 antennas or DXE-AVA-3 units.

Unified Microsystems RAS-4 Receive Antenna Switch

Unified Microsystems RAS-4 Receive Antenna Switch is an outdoor capable remote relay unit that allows the operator to select up to four antennas. Receive only antennas are critical for success on the low bands. Due to the wavelengths of the low bands, these antennas cannot be rotated. Several very effective receive only antennas are mono-directional or bi-directional, including Beverage, Reversible Beverage, Beverage on the Ground (BOG), Reversible Beverage on the Ground (RBOG) and many others,. Therefore, a high quality, low noise four port receive antenna switch is required to cover all of the directions with multiple antennas. Common mode noise pick up can ruin the performance of receive antenna systems, so the RAS-4 isolates both the center conductor and shield of unselected ports. An internal bifilar ferrite choke further reduces common mode currents. This unit features female F connectors for RG6U coax with male F connectors, the standard field-serviceable coaxial cable assemblies for receive antenna systems. A very important requirement for dual feedline Reversible Beverage and RBOG antennas is provided by the RAS-4. By default, unselected ports are terminated for 75 ohms. The user can change to 50 ohm, open circuit, or center conductor-shield short by soldering wire jumpers. The RAS-4 is housed in a NEMA rated enclosure with a gasket lid. A cable gland seals the control cable entry. The internal circuit board has a conformal coating for additional protection. The RAS-4 can be mounted outdoors, with the enclosure flanges or with the included L bracket for mounting to a pole or post. The RAS-4 Receive Antenna Switch is a receive-only relay unit that cannot be used for transmitting antennas. The required in-shack control console switch is not included. The RAS-4 will work with a commercial or a simple home brewed, positive 12V One-of-Four switch. Choose from DX Engineering, EA4TX and others for manual or automated switching. Unified Microsystems RAS-4 Receive Antenna Switch Specifications Antenna Selection: 4 receive antennas to 1 main feedline Dimensions: Approx. 4.5 x 3.5 x 3.25 in. DX Engineering Reversible Beverage Systems

DX Engineering Reversible Beverage Systems basically allow two Beverage antennas to be switched to receive in opposite directions while sharing the same physical space. DXE-RBSA-1P Reversible Beverage Systems antennas provide two opposite "end-fire" directional patterns with excellent front-to-rear directivity and superior signal-to-noise ratio as compared to transmitting antennas. Dramatically improved long distance weak signal results may be achieved on MW and the 160, 80 and 40 meter bands, including shortwave bands, with receive-only Beverage antennas using wires that are typically only 350 to 800 feet long, depending upon the band of interest. The two-direction DXE-RBSA-1P Reversible Beverage Systems offer a space and installation advantage because two opposite single-wire Beverage antennas would require twice the length. DX Engineering Reversible Beverage Systems are immune to the strong signal overload and core saturation common in multi-transmitter contesting environments and are used by winning contest stations and low-band DXers around the world. These Reversible Beverage antennas have two "F" connectors; one "Away" port for the default end-fire receiving pattern off the end of the wire, and one "Toward" port for the opposite direction. The standard configuration of these systems has the "Toward" port terminated (75-ohm termination included), so both antennas share a common feedline. Applying a negative 10 to 18V DC to the feedline switches the system between the two antenna ports for reception in opposite directions. For simultaneous reception from opposing directions, each of the two feedlines can be run to separate receivers, with the termination load not used. You can build a 4-direction receive antenna system with two DXE-RBSA-1P Reversible Beverage Systems and one DX Engineering RLS-2 Two-Port Receiving Switch that also requires only one feedline! The optional DX Engineering Feedline Voltage Coupler, model DXE-FVC-1 is highly recommended to provide all of the required feedline voltage injection. Plus, the optional DXE-EC-4 BCD Control Console completes the system for four-direction switching right in the shack. DX Engineering Reversible Beverage Systems are optimized to use our optional 450 ohm ladder line for the antenna element. We strongly recommend using that type of "window line" because the consistent spacing of the antenna wires will produce the best operational results. However, the RBS will work with any 300-600 ohm 2-wire line. For best feed line results, DX Engineering highly recommends using our high quality flooded or quad-shielded 75-ohm coax with F-type compression connectors to ensure a weatherproof installation. Additional features include: * Broad operating range, 0.2 to 30 MHz * Fully isolated grounds prevent common-made noise and unwanted signals * 75 ohm design enables the use of high quality, low cost cable and connectors * RF shielded housing used for isolation and improved life * Directional Switching Voltage: nominal 12V AC or negative 12V DC, feedline injected * Directional Switching Current: less than 80 mA * Antenna impedance: 300-600 ohm (450 ohm recommended) * Feedline impedance: 50-75 ohm (75 ohm recommended) * RBSA-1FP Feed Point unit dimensions: 5.5 in. width x 3.5 in. depth x 1.5 in. height * RBS-1RT Reflection Transformer unit dimensions: 2.125 in. width x 2.125 in. depth x 1.125 in. height Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. United Microsystems BT-75/BOG Beverage-On-Ground Antenna Transformers

The United Microsystems BT-75/BOG Beverage-on-Ground (BOG) Antenna Transformers are specifically designed for Beverage-on-Ground receive antennas and is based on the proven BT-75 transformer used with elevated Beverage antennas. Because BOG antennas are installed directly on or just above the ground, they require no supports and can be significantly shorter than traditional Beverage antennas, making them a practical option where space is limited. BOG antennas typically exhibit lower impedance than elevated Beverage antennas. The BT-75/BOG is optimized to provide proper impedance matching between the antenna and 75-ohm RG-6 coaxial cable, improving performance compared to standard Beverage transformers. For correct operation, the far end of the antenna must be terminated with a 250 to 300-ohm resistive load. The United Microsystems RXT-270 termination resistor is recommended. Properly installed Beverage antennas are low-noise, receive-only antennas that provide excellent rejection of signals and noise from the undesired direction. Due to the lower velocity factor of radio waves near the ground, a BOG antenna can often deliver a radiation pattern similar to an elevated Beverage antenna of roughly twice the length, though with reduced signal strength. A BOG antenna as short as 150 to 200 feet can provide effective receive performance, although a preamplifier may be beneficial in some installations. The BT-75/BOG is designed for use with 75-ohm RG-6 coaxial cable. Originally developed for television applications, RG-6 offers low loss at VHF and UHF frequencies, resulting in extremely low loss on the 160, 80, and 40-meter bands. Its availability and low cost make it a popular choice for low-band receive antenna feed lines. The transformer is housed in a NEMA-rated enclosure with stainless steel hardware for long-term outdoor durability. A built-in gas discharge tube across the antenna terminals helps protect the transformer from nearby lightning-induced surges, although it will not provide protection against direct or very close lightning strikes.

DX Engineering Receive 8 Circle Array Controllers

DX Engineering RCA8C-1 Receive 8 Circle Array Controllers are the highly sophisticated switch controller relay units from the Eight Circle Array Systems--the receiving systems that use time delay phasing--rather than the conventional narrow-band, frequency-dependent phasing, to provide eight 45 degree spaced directional patterns. The RCA8C time delay phasing is directivity-optimized to produce wider and deeper rear nulls and a narrower main lobe. The result is that noise and undesirable signals are greatly reduced for a superior front-to-rear ratio (F/R). Better control of phase and currents provides a cleaner pattern with the Receive 8 Circle than is available with vertical antenna transmit arrays. DX Engineering Receive 8 Circle Array Controllers are designed to be used with eight identical vertical active or passive vertical elements, symmetrically spaced in a large circle, to provide switching for an 8-direction receiving antenna system. Passive elements will generally provide you with a monoband receiving system. Finally, these systems offer greater reliability in receiving applications. Receive Eight Circle Array Controllers use sealed relays sized for receiving applications with silver contacts to prevent oxidation and contamination. Most transmitting four-square switches use large open-frame relays where the contacts are exposed to the air, which can lead to contamination. Relays with brass contacts can oxidize, leading to poor conductivity. Receive Eight Circle Array controllers feature: * W8JI design * Operation from 100 kHz to 30 MHz * Excellent directivity for better signal-to noise ratio * Switching console provides eight 45 degree spaced directions * Less physical space and maintenance required than phased Beverage antennas * Low current DC powered control console allows system operation without AC power mains The optional DX Engineering Eight Circle Receive Short Element Active Vertical Antenna Package, DXE-RSEAV-8, offers excellent receiving performance from 100 kHz to 30 MHz, while using only a 8.5 ft. (2.6m) aluminum vertical antenna elements. A unique design makes the Receive Eight Circle Array System vastly superior to traditional active vertical antennas in both strong signal handling and feedline decoupling. This results in significantly better weak signal reception due to lower spurious signal interference and reduced noise. DX Engineering RCA8C Receive 8 Circle Array Controllers are the foundation of your Eight Circle Array!

DX Engineering Receive Filter Plug-In Modules provide frequency-specific receiving system enhancements, which fit into special DX Engineering devices listed below. These advanced plug-in filter modules are available separately to allow any user to create a specific or customized filter with low-pass, band-pass and high-pass frequency ranges. Filter cut-off and center frequencies correspond to the major Amateur bands, 160, 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 meters, with filter module insertion loss of only about 1dB. By reducing or excluding frequency-specific interfering noise and signals, the noise floor can be lowered for the desired passband for dramatically improved reception DX Engineering Receive Filter Plug-In Modules may be installed in these devices: DXE-DMC-2 Dual Module Chassis accepts one or two filter modules to create a stand-alone passive inline filter unit of any configuration. One high pass and one low pas can be combined to create a multi-band bandpass filter of any HF range. DXE-RPA-2-PM Modular Receive Preamplifier accepts one Receive Filter Plug-In Module to customize the preamplifier passband. DXE-NCC-2 Receive Phasing Controller can accept one or two Receive Filter Plug-In Modules, one into each, Channel A and Channel B. The DX Engineering NCC-2 is highly regarded by many owners and engineers to be the best receive phasing and noise canceling unit available and is used extensively by enthusiasts in Amateur Radio DXing, Contesting, AM DXing, and Short-Wave Listening (SWL), and is also used in commercial AM and HF broadcast applications. DX Engineering Receive Filter Plug-In Modules add an extra dimension of functionality to the NCC-2, for advanced directional noise and signal nulling performance, enhanced with a specific frequency range operations. By default, NCC-2 internal option slots have bypass boards to pass all signals. Receive Filters placed into these slots dedicate the unit to filtered operation. Typically, one pair of band-pass or high-pass or low-pass filters, depending on desired filtering, is installed in the NCC-2 to suit the specific signal rejection needs of the discerning operator. As an example, an 80 meter DX enthusiast may elect to install two 80 meter band pass Receive Filter Plug-In Modules, part number DXE-R-BP80-PM, into their NCC-2 Channel A and Channel B middle slots. This dedicates their NCC-2 to 80 meter-only operations. This dramatically reduces noise and signals from outside the 80 meter band, very effectively excluding interference from nearby AM Broadcast, 160 and 40 meter stations. A much lower noise floor across 80 meters can help achieve reception of weak 80 meter DX signals. An additional pair of filters can be swapped out for a different band when desired. Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. All Receive Filter Plug-In Modules displayed here are also conveniently listed on a single page linked in Documentation.

DX Engineering Receive Four Square Array Electronics Package

DX Engineering Receive Four Square Array Electronics Package, DXE-RFS-SYS-2P, is for the array builder who wants to use their own passive receive verticals for a mono-band receive array. See the DXE-R4S-SYS-V3 for the Complete Receive Four Square V3 Array System with Receive Short Element Active Verticals. DX Engineering Receive Four Square Arrays dramatically improve reception of weak distant signals with excellent rejection of extraneous signals and noise. This four-direction switchable array uses time delay phasing of four physically short receiving vertical elements. The resulting directional receiving pattern is superior to four short Beverage antennas and typical two or three element arrays. The Receive Four Square is less susceptible to high angle signals than EWE, Flag, Pennant, K9AY and SAL antennas. This type of receive array, using physically short vertical elements, limits signal and noise for dramatically superior weak signal reception, as compared to full size transmitting antennas and arrays. With proper spacing of four unobtrusive, physically short vertical elements, the Receive Four Square Array System provides high performance directional receive for HF Amateur, SWL or AM DXing. Click or tap the title of a listed item for an overview - a complete description, Specifications, Required and Suggested Parts. Links to instruction manuals and charts appear in Documentation. DX Engineering Receive Four Square Arrays offer directional performance comparable to four long Beverage wire antennas, using far less land area. This Controller and Switch Console package is designed to be used with four identical, user-supplied, active or passive symmetrically-spaced ground-mounted vertical elements to provide switching for a 4-direction receiving antenna system. Passive elements will generally provide an optimized monoband receiving system. Conversely, with four DX Engineering Receive Short Element Active Vertical antennas, DXE-RSEAV-1, the properly sized array can achieve excellent directional receiving performance over three HF bands. Build an exceptionally effective, electronically rotatable, stationary receive antenna that lets you hear the DX that cannot be heard on a transmit antenna.
