DX Engineering BEP-4B Antenna Plates
5 Customer Reviews
BEP-4B Antenna Plates are pre-drilled for these DX Engineering Saddle Clamps:
-- For mounting a 1.500 in. boom, cross-boom, tower leg or mast use (2) DXE-SAD-150A Clamps
-- Or, for mounting a 2.000 in. boom, cross-boom, tower leg or mast use (2) DXE-SAD-200B Clamps
Then for the other side, mounting perpendicular to the larger clamps:
-- For Mounting a 0.750 in. grounded element, rod or tube use (2) DXE-SAD-075A Clamps
-- Or, for Mounting a 1.000 in. grounded element, rod or tube use (2) DXE-SAD-100A Clamps
-- Or, for Mounting a 1.250 in. grounded element, rod, tower leg, or tube use (2) DXE-SAD-125A Clamps
See our other Antenna Plates for other clamp size options.
DX Engineering BEP-4B Antenna Plates provide a convenient method for grounded Yagi beam elements to be attached to booms when building Yagi, LPDA or other antennas. They are ready for the saddle clamps to hold a 0.750 in., 1.000 in. or 1.250 in. tubing for the center portion of a tapered antenna element on one side of the plate, and to mount the assembly onto a 1.500 in. or 2.000 in. boom tubing, perpendicular, on the other side of the plate.
Boom to Element Plates are similar in function to Boom to Element Brackets in that they each attach the elements the boom. The primary advantage of these aluminum plates over insulated brackets is that it is a simple mechanical arrangement. The main disadvantage is that the plate does not insulate the element from the boom which means that the element dimensions that you bring from your antenna design program (YO, AO, EZNEC and others) will be incorrect unless you make some length adjustment for the width of the plate and boom.
See our insulated Antenna Building Brackets and Plates for mounting driven elements and for other applications where insulated elements are desired or required.
Don't forget to purchase a copy of DX Engineering's Yagi Mechanical to make sure your elements have the desired wind survivability. Please see our article about "How to Build a Yagi Antenna That Works".
You can build a very affordable, high performance Yagi antenna with DX Engineering BEP-4B Antenna Plates and Saddle Clamps.
