DX Engineering Maxi-Core® 20 Baluns and Feedline Chokes
The present-day DX Engineering was launched in the year 2000. To celebrate our 20th Anniversary in the year 2020 we have developed a new line of Baluns and Feedline Chokes. Introducing DX Engineering "Maxi-Core® 20" Baluns and Feedline Chokes. They reduce or eliminate currents on the outside of your feedline allowing you to hear and to be heard much better. They keep more RFI/BCI out of your antenna and receiver and transfer more of your transmitted signal to the antenna for higher efficiency, the best antenna pattern and maximum performance. Signaling a new era of RF performance across the 1.8 to 54 MHz frequency range, DX Engineering Maxi-Core® 20 Baluns and Feedline Chokes handle full-legal-power-plus and provide higher common mode impedance (CMI) across a greater frequency range than competing models and even previous DX Engineering and Comtek models. Years of R&D coupled with major advancements in test equipment and techniques combined with custom ferrite materials have allowed our engineering team to design the DX Engineering Maxi-Core® 20 Baluns and Feedline Chokes. Maxi-Core® 20 Baluns and Chokes have high CMI across the AM Broadcast band and the HF/6M spectrum, which is essential to provide sufficient suppression of unwanted transmitted and received RFI/BCI current on the feedline shield exterior. Hear and be heard with DXE Maxi-Core® 20 Baluns and Feedline Chokes. Choose superior performance from these models: * DXE-MC20-1-1 Maxi-Core® 20 - 1:1 Current Choke Balun - For all HF-6m balanced antennas with a 50 ohm feedpoint, including resonant dipoles, loops, Yagis, beams, etc. * DXE-MC20-FC Maxi-Core® 20 - 1:1 Feedline Choke – This high CMI line isolator is perfect for use in line on 50 ohm coaxial feedlines, at the antenna, tower or shack end of the feedline. * DXE-MC20-1-1T Maxi-Core® 20 - 1:1 Current Choke Balun – This 1:1 "T" model is for force feeding antennas with a tuner. Use it at the end of ladder line of any impedance or mounted on a coax fed non-resonant antenna. This model tolerates operation at high SWR on non-resonant multi-band antennas. * DXE-MC20-C4-1 Maxi-Core® 20 - 4:1 Current Choke Balun is for use on antennas with a 200 ohm feedpoint and at the end of any impedance ladder line, especially on antenna systems with higher impedance. This model tolerates operation at high SWR on non-resonant multi-band antennas. * DXE-MC20-V4-1 Maxi-Core® 20 - 4:1 Voltage Balun is a 200 ohm to 50 ohm transformer for use on random long-wire and OCF antenna applications. This true voltage balun is intentionally designed with low CMI for antennas that need a transformer without RF choking for easier antenna tuner operation and it tolerates elevated SWR. Maxi-Core® 20 Baluns and Feedline Chokes are built into a convenient weather resistant NEMA enclosure that is mounted easily with optional brackets. They feature 1/4-20 stainless steel hardware and a high quality silver-plated PTFE dielectric SO-239 (UHF female) input connector. The SO-239 connector limits power handling to 5 kW at low SWR and reduced power at elevated SWR. These baluns and the feedline choke exhibit very low insertion loss and inherently low SWR. Optional mounting brackets are available for use on wire antennas or for verticals, Yagi and beam antennas. See the Suggested Parts tab after clicking "More Detail" on the model of interest. DX Engineering Receiver Guard Electronic RF Limiters
DX Engineering Receiver Guard RG5000HD Electronic RF Limiters are the best choice of inline devices to protect your receiver antenna inputs. The Receiver Guard is a receive antenna input limiter specifically designed to protect a sensitive receiver front-end against high levels of RF and potential damage. At the heart of each Receiver Guard is a highly effective electronic RF limiter covering 500 kHz to 150 MHz with an insertion loss under 0.15 dB up to 50 MHz and under 0.30 dB up to 150 MHz. The multi-stage design includes a gas discharge tube for maximum pulse energy protection. The DXE-RG5000HD rejects 10 watts of catastrophic receive antenna feedline RF while passing a maximum signal of about 87 dB over S-9, which is only 25 mw, a signal level that is well below the point of front end damage. Receiver Guards are a must for multiple radio contesting stations and they provide low-cost front-end "insurance." Use them in these common high-RF situations: - Receive antennas in very close proximity to transmit antennas - Field-day operations with many transmitters in close range - Multi-transmitter contesting sites - Neighboring Amateur and CB operators - Frequent high-power mobile encounters Extensively tested and proven in real-world stations, the Receiver Guard works for all radios and offers the ultimate performance required by the upper tier of transceivers tested to have the best narrow-spaced third-order dynamic range or published RMDR (Reciprocal Mixing Dynamic Range). These are passive electronic limiters, so competitive contesting stations use separate band filters in addition to the Receiver Guard. When there are high levels of RF on your receive antennas, the DX Engineering Receiver Guard generates far less harmonic noise than other limiters on the market, which allows your station to continue to operate safely and competitively. At normal HF signal levels the RG5000HD operates continuously with no effect on the performance of your station while providing the best possible protection for your radio. Here are key Receiver Guard features: * Keeps stray high levels of RF from damaging your receiver input * Ideal for separate 160 and/or 80 meter receive systems with large pulse and RF energy capture area * Uses state of the art components for maximum protection of receivers * Under 6 ns response time * Multi-Stage protection * Very low insertion loss * Uses BNC type connectors to avoid accidental connection to a transmit feedline * Has been developed and tested in world-recognized multi-multi contest station K3LR Specifications - DX Engineering Receiver Guard model DXE-RG-5000HD - Frequency Range: 0.5 through 150 MHz - Insertion Loss: < 0.15 dB up to 50 MHz, < 0.3 dB 50 MHz up to 150 MHz - VSWR: < 1.2:1 - Maximum Output Level at 10 W input: +14 dBm (0.025 W) - Maximum Power Handling: 10 W CCS (Continuous Commercial Service) - Device Impedance: 50 to 75 ohms, unbalanced - Connectors, Input and Output: BNC female Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. What happens if the receive antenna is extremely close to the transmit antenna, or there is an antenna support or other system failure that causes a high RF level to enter the receive antenna input? VA6AM Engineering HF Multiplexers
VA6AM Engineering HF Multiplexers are transmit and receive capable Diplexers and Triplexers that are sophisticated RF filtering splitter/combiners. Always used along with monoband HF Band-Pass Filters, they allow multi-transceiver stations to share a single multi-band antenna, simplifying multi-op antenna systems. Supplied with standard UHF Female/SO-239 connectors, HF transmit multiplexers are great for Field Day, contesting and multi-op DXing. Use them anytime you need to operate multiple rigs on one multi-band antenna! Insertion loss is negligible; typically, less than 0.2dB in band! VA6AM Engineering Diplexers and Triplexers provide good levels of isolation between band ports. The multiplexer's main purpose is to provide 50-ohm SO-239 connections for multiple transceivers and balance the impedances for a single 50-ohm feedline to a multi-band antenna. Alternatively, VA6AM Engineering Diplexers and Triplexers can be used to combine multiple low-SWR resonant antennas into a switchless multiband system for a single transceiver.

Mastrant Antenna Support and Guy Line Ropes
Mastrant Antenna Support and Guy Line Ropes are available in several sizes and strength ratings, perfect for support of wire antennas, vertical antennas and antenna masts, as well as support of Yagi booms and elements. Mastrant ropes are of the highest quality for strength and are UV-protected for extended longevity. MASTRANT-O is a highly reflective rope (bright orange plus braided reflective tape) based on long-term proven Polyester (Dacron) product line. It is designed for maximum visibility in public places such as Field Day and POTA activities. Like all Mastrant ropes, it is UV stable and resistant to all weather conditions. It has low weight, great abrasion resistance, great durability and is nonconductive (no effect whatsoever on your antenna). Moreover, in contrast to ropes made from aramid fibers (Kevlar, Vectran, Technora, Twaron), it has knot strength about 60 %. Mastrant-P and Mastrant-R Ropes are stronger than other synthetic ropes of the same size, made from proven modern polyester. Mastrant-Q is a new rope made from a blend of polyester and polypropylene, designed specifically for guying applications. It offers an excellent performance-to-price ratio and has a knot strength of approximately 60%. It replaces Mastrant-P in diameters of 6 mm (1/4 in.) and larger. Mastrant-S is a similar polyester/polypropylene rope, distinguished by its highly reflective strands for increased visibility. Mastrant-M is their highest strength rope with the Dyneema® DM20 core, a superior synthetic rope offering high performance at an affordable price. Very high strength, negligible elongation, very low weight, and great abrasion resistance are all attributes that make Mastrant-M the best rope for guying. Larger, stronger sizes of Mastrant-M are used in Europe and other parts of the world for tower guying. Durability and safety are of prime concern to ensure that an antenna installation remains fully operational for a long time. Antennas and guy lines are exposed to changing weather conditions, mechanical strain, UV radiation, humidity, and more. These non-conductive synthetic fibers have all the necessary qualities: high strength, negligible stretch but good flexibility, long life, low moisture collection, fast drying, a minimum bending radius adding the ability to tie knots, good UV radiation resistance, weather durability and resistance to acids and alkali. Conversely, steel guying wires are heavy, difficult to work with, and their strength deteriorates with time due to corrosion and general aging. Electrical conductivity of steel guys is an undesirable feature, as they interact with the antennas and adversely modify radiation patterns. Thanks to recent developments in synthetic materials, both amateur and professional users are changing over to non-conductive guys and ropes. Mastrant offers these products for a variety of applications, from thin support lines used for wire antennas and beams, to rope guys for supporting small and portable masts and vertical antennas. When you need quality rope to install, replace, or modify your antenna systems, consider Mastrant Antenna Support and Guy Line Ropes, now available from DX Engineering.

Alpha Delta Antenna Hardware Kits
Alpha Delta Antenna Hardware Kits contain one DELTA-C Center Insulator, antenna connection hardware, one model SEP arc-plug static electricity protector that is installed on the back of the DELTA-C, and two model DELTA-CIN End Insulators. These kits are a great way to build wire antennas! The antenna hardware is constructed using Alpha Delta's exclusive Model Delta-C Center Insulators and model CIN End Insulators. They're molded from Deltalloy, an extremely tough and durable plastic specifically blended to withstand sunlight and extreme weather conditions. An SO-239 connector is provided for a direct connection to the PL-259 on your coaxial cable. Or, a ladder-line balanced feedline may be connected directly to the dipole wire ends. If a balanced feedline is used with an antenna tuner in non-resonant applications, the SEP arc-plug must be removed to prevent the "false triggering" of the gas tube. The ALP-SEP arc-plug static electricity protector is a special gas tube component designed to bleed off slow-rising static electricity buildup generated by thunderstorms, high-wind driven snow, sand, or even a harmless looking cloudy day. These static charges have been measured to several thousand volts and can damage or destroy sensitive components in receivers' or transceivers' front-end circuitry. DX Engineering Glass Antenna Insulators
Sometimes the oldest stuff turns out to be the best. Our exclusive DX Engineering Glass Antenna Insulators hearken back to the earliest years of "wireless" transmissions. Because Irish ship builders of the day pronounced "double" as "dooble," these insulators were once known as "glass doobies" due to their tempered-glass material and double-ended form. Glass insulators offer the highest of electrical insulation properties, strength and resilience available in any insulator of its size. There will be no signal bleed off with these little glass wonders! DX Engineering's DXE-TGI-2 end insulators are 3.69 in. long with 1.125 in. diameter double ends. Each smoothed and rounded end has a 5/16 in. (0.3125 in.) hole that will accommodate many wire and rope sizes without chafing. Their tensile strength and resistance to arcing will withstand almost any wire-antenna use within the Amateur Radio service, domestic or abroad. Since these are end insulators, they are sold as a pair. These are not toy-like models or replica insulators; these are fully functional, high strength glass insulators with excellent RF properties! But, that is not to say that they aren't gorgeous and worthy of showing off! They certainly are perfect for display as a radio room decoration or as a living area conversation piece. Very smooth and pleasing to the touch, these are attractive glass insulators that make a fantastic gift for the ham who thought he had everything! Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. In this instance, some interesting information on "Glass Doobies." Bring back a bit of the essence of the Amateur Radio of yesteryear in your wire antenna construction. DX Engineering DVA Dual Vertical Array Systems
DX Engineering DVA Dual Vertical Array Systems are advanced phasing systems that have set a new standard for array performance with two ground-mounted verticals. Dual Vertical Array Systems include a compact DVA Phasing Relay Unit made specifically for an individual HF band and an EC-DVA Directional Control Console. DX Engineering Dual Vertical Arrays produce two opposite enhanced End-Fire Cardioid patterns and one Broadside-Omni pattern. Heavy-duty components handle over 2 kW continuous RF power for enhanced performance at low SWR over a wide bandwidth. The Dual Vertical Array end-fire directional patterns achieve a real front-to-back over 20 dB with typical array forward gain up to 3 dB over a single vertical. The greatest advantage of a Dual Vertical Array is that a tower and rotator are not required, as with a Yagi antenna. Especially for 160, 80, and 40, and even on the other HF bands, a Dual Vertical Array is mechanically simpler and safer. Here is a financially practical directional antenna that is much easier to install! These are great directional antenna systems for temporary and Field Day operation, as well as for permanent builds, because they ARE so much easier to install than a beam! If you are dissatisfied with your present system, are ready for an upgrade, or just need to get out of the tower game, the DX Engineering DVA is your answer! Refurbish an existing antenna system, equip your temporary array, or build a new phased array with a DVA. It's all on the ground, safe and simple: DX Engineering Dual Vertical Arrays offer a better way to enjoy a high-performance mono-band directional antenna.
