bhi DSP Noise Cancelling In-Line Modules
bhi DSP Noise Cancelling In-Line Modules eliminate noise and interference to let you hear more clearly! This new audio DSP unit cleans up noisy signals and works on most radios and receivers. It comes with the latest bhi DSP noise cancelling technology—which brings improved audio quality to the listener when operating in noisy conditions across all radio bands. The audio is clearer and more intelligible as a result. It's very easy to connect the In-Line Module between your radio and external speaker with the included 3.5mm male mono patch cable. This model delivers plenty of clean, noise-free audio with its 5W audio amplifier. The speaker output is muted when headphones are connected to the mono headphone output jack. When the unit is switched off, the audio bypass feature routes the signal directly through to the loudspeaker. bhi In-Line Modules provide simple control of all features. Their three-position switch turns the unit on and switches the noise cancellation on and off. The "Status" LED illuminates red when power is applied and changes to green when the noise cancellation is active. Set the radio AF gain to provide an audio input level that does not flash the overload LED. An audio output control adjusts speaker or headphone levels. Also included are a User Manual and four small rubber feet, plus the previously mentioned 3.5mm male mono patch cable for connection to your radio and a fused 2.1mm DC power lead. bhi Ltd LLC1 Stereo Line Level Converter enables you to use powered speakers with your EQ20 audio DSP unit. It converts your bhi EQ20 speaker level audio outputs to line level stereo and isolates the EQ20 Class D audio amplifier stage. This enables the connection of the EQ20 to powered speakers, an amplifier, or recording device. Background: The bhi EQ20 uses a Class D amplifier for efficiency and to reduce the need for heavy metal heatsinking. The only down side is that grounds or speaker outputs cannot be connected together as this may cause damage to the amplifier chip, which means that powered speakers cannot connected directly to the speaker outputs of the EQ20. The bhi Line Level Converter LLC1 converts the speaker level audio output of your bhi ParaPro EQ20 audio DSP unit to an isolated RCA line-level audio signal. This isolates the Class D amplifier stage from the line level output connection enabling powered speakers, an amplifier, or a recording device to be used with the bhi EQ20 unit. The LLC1 can handle the output from class D amplifiers designed for driving up to 10 watts into a standard 4 ohm or 8 ohm speaker. Heil Sound HPS-5 Powered Speaker
The Heil Sound HPS-5 Powered Speaker is a great sounding stand-alone speaker with a built-in 24-watt, two-way, ultra-low distortion amplifier. bhi Bypass Switch
bhi Bypass Switch is an audio bypass switch for the bhi Dual In-line and Compact in-Line DSP noise cancelling units, which don't have an internal audio bypass facility. When you switch the power off on these bhi units, the audio does not pass directly through to your external speaker. So, with the Bypass Switch, you can route the audio from your radio directly to your extension speaker without powering on your bhi unit. This can be particularly useful if you just want to listen to your radio without your bhi noise cancelling unit switched on. A single push-button switch on the Bypass Switch provides this facility. Press the button in and the audio routes through your bhi DSP noise cancelling unit (power on). Heil Ham Radio BM-17 Lightweight Headsets
The redesigned Heil Ham Radio BM-17 Lightweight Headsets are excellent for portable operations, with several updates including the new swivel-mounted boom that allows operators the flexibility of positioning the microphone on the left or right side. These headsets are available as either the BM-17S single-side or BM-17D dual-side model and are now only available in standard black, with "Heil Ham Radio" brand. To accommodate different transceivers, both models of the BM-17 are available with either a Dynamic element or an iC Electret element. The speakers used in the BM-17 headset are extra sensitive, so they do not require much AF drive from the transceiver. Their frequency response is 200 Hz – 5 kHz with exceptionally low distortion and each features replaceable ear pads made of acoustic foam. Heil Headsets feature two different mic elements, so they must be paired with the appropriate Heil AD-1 series transceiver mic adapter cable (not included). • The BM-17 Dynamic headset uses the dynamic element designed specifically for communications use, with an operating frequency response of 120 Hz – 10 kHz. This 500 ohm dynamic element will work on most amateur radio rigs requiring a Low-Z input impedance (usually between 150 ohms and 4k ohms). The microphone audio for the BM-17 series terminates into a red 1/8 in. mono plug while the headphone terminates into a black 1/8 in. stereo plug (1/8 to 1/4 in. adapter included). The use of the AD-1 series mic adapters allows simple interface with popular transceiver inputs. The AD-1 series adapters are 6 to 8 in. long and has a 1/8" female input jack for the headset microphone while the 1/4" female that exits the adapter is the PTT (push to talk) line for a Heil foot switch or hand switch. The 1/8" or 1/4" stereo plug goes into the headphone jack on the transceiver front panel. The stainless steel band inside the padded top can be reshaped for a comfortable custom fit. The PRAS-EQ allows radio operators to modify, shape and improve the audio output of their receivers using three separate equalization controls. Midrange frequencies are the most critical for achieving clear voice articulation in receive audio, especially for those with hearing deficiencies. The PRAS-EQ allows operators to have unique control over these important frequencies. First, operators can adjust the parametric midrange filter from 400 Hz through 4 kHz, with the recommended sweet spot being at 2.5 kHz.
