Grommets on the corners of the panel help secure it in place to prevent damage in high winds. These high tech thin and flexible panels will continue to provide output even when damaged. They generate electricity even in cloudy, shady, and hazy environments and outperform other solar panels in low-light environments. A charge controller is not required if the battery capacity is 100x greater (or more) than the panel output. For example, a 100Ah battery would not need a charge controller if the panel output is 1A or less. If a charge controller is required, it should be sized according to the output of the panel.
