DX Engineering Coaxial Connection Weatherproofing Kits

DX Engineering Coaxial Connection Weatherproofing Kits provide two types of 3/4 inch tape, sealing and vinyl, that provide the right combination of reliable protection for your coaxial connections. This method provides an inexpensive water moisture and UV barrier that is fully capable for a long term installation, but is also easily and cleanly removed for maintenance. Taping, and subsequent removal and re-taping is accomplished quickly and easily with these tape kits. Each weatherproofing kit each contains two tapes; one roll of 3M Temflex™ 2155 Rubber Splicing Tape TES-2155, a conformable, self-fusing sealing tape as the water barrier, and one roll from three different grades of 3M Vinyl Electrical Tape for a UV barrier. Choose from Scotch Supper 88 Premium, Scotch Super 33 Plus or economy 3M Tartan 1710. Each kit will weatherproof six to ten double connections, depending upon the number of overlapping layers used. Select the kit below with the vinyl tape grade desired. Choose the economy kit for temporary weather protection and one of the professional grade tape kits for the long-term installation. The other type connector weather sealing that is a tar like substance is excellent for permanent commercial installations that are not intended to require removal. Instead, these tape kits also prevent water or condensation from entering your coaxial cable. They are perfect for the amateur, antenna experimenter or professional. Don't let water ruin your temporary or permanent coaxial connections. Moisture ingress could lead to damaged coax and corroded connections and cause high SWR conditions or shorts that could damage your equipment. Order DX Engineering Coaxial Connection Weatherproofing Kits to get those cable connectors sealed and plan for easy weatherproofing removal for future maintenance.

DX Engineering Coax Grounding Brackets

DX Engineering Coax Grounding Brackets are designed to provide additional grounding of coaxial cable shields. They are manufactured from high-quality stainless steel and are supplied with a stainless steel V-bolt and hardware for fastening them to tower legs. There are two sizes available to fit most tower legs or antenna masts. These brackets have holes for two optional UHF bulkhead connectors; two UHF chassis mount connectors, or two Type-N bulkhead connectors. DX Engineering Coax Grounding Brackets may be used on the tower top junction point for the flexible antenna coax jumpers (often used to form a rotor loop), and the main runs down the tower leg. They are also useful at the base of the tower to provide a solid grounding point before the coax cable is routed away from the grounded tower. While the brackets have serrated teeth to bite through paint and corrosion, there is an additional hole in them so that an optional ground braid or copper strap may be extended for secure grounding. Bulkhead and chassis mount connectors are sold separately. NOTE: Due to the close mounting of the RF connectors closest to where the tower leg or metal pipe may be, some users have suggested to first make the connections weather-tight, then attach the bracket to the tower leg or metal pipe. Get your coaxial shields grounded with DX Engineering Coax Grounding Brackets!

Georgia Copper Flexible Ground Strap Jumpers

Georgia Copper Flexible Ground Strap Jumpers are excellent for low impedance outdoor grounding and HF antenna feedpoint and radial system connections. Even weathered to a dull patina, copper strap does not lose its low impedance advantages over wire or cables, for DC and AC through HF and VHF. Plus, flexible copper strap is far superior to tinned copper braid, which holds moisture and disintegrates which causes a undesirable increase in connection impedance over a relatively short time. Flexible SOLID Copper Strap Jumpers come in pre-cut lengths at 1 in. or 3/4 in. widths and 0.022 in. thickness, punched with 0.280 in. holes at each end, to accommodate 1/4 in. bolts. They're available in two-packs at six different lengths, 6 in., 12 in., 24 in., 36 in., 48 in., 72 in. and also in a variety pack that contains one piece of all six lengths. Order and use any of these specific length straps for your project. Or, use your tin snips and your imagination to make all types of low impedance connections for surge protection grounding boxes and panels, protectors, equipment racks, vertical antenna feedpoints, radial system connections and antenna feedpoint connections from a bolt terminal balun to the driven elements. This pre-cut copper strap may also be used as a shack ground bus or for the bus bar connection to the station ground rod or rods. Georgia Copper Flexible Copper Grounding Straps

Georgia Copper Flexible Copper Straps are solid and bendable metal straps that are used to build low-inductance, high performance grounding systems. The use of these copper straps provides the best grounding systems because they have greater surface area and lower inductance per foot than the equivalent cross-section of wire. Hams find all sorts of uses for copper straps, for superior antenna feedpoint connections as well as creating a bus for grounding. Equipment racks may be bonded to ground using copper straps. Don't rely on the rack frame to provide bonding. Tie all of the power supplies, tuners, racked amplifiers, and other equipment together with low-resistance copper. Especially useful for any application outdoors and for use directly in or near soils, flexible solid copper straps will maintain a proper, low-impedance connection long after small-gauge wires and tinned copper braids have weathered and disintegrated. Copper straps are specified by communications system designers and are used extensively for above-ground and underground connections to radiators, tower and ground rods for commercial equipment rooms, sheds, and tower installations. Professional communications engineers know the value of systems that employ copper straps. They are available in various widths and at a thickness to suite your application. If you are using wire or braid at feedpoint connections or to provide grounding, equipment bonding or other critical connections for your Amateur Radio station, consider upgrading to long-lasting and solid Georgia Copper Flexible Copper Straps from DX Engineering!
