Gator Cases Standard Molded Equipment Rack Cases are constructed from lightweight, rugged polyethylene. They include full size locking front and rear removable lids that incorporate heavy-duty "butterfly" twist latches that secure the lids onto the case. Comfortable side handles are securely mounted provide for carrying the case. These cases can be easily stacked with cases of the same style and type.

Gator Cases Standard Molded Equipment Rack Cases feature field replaceable 7mm zinc-plated steel threaded front and rear rack rails. They are available in the industry standard 19 inch width, in two case depths, 19 inches and 14 inches, and a variety of heights. Equipment racks and their vertical mounting rails have standardized threaded hole spacing and rack panel heights for mounting equipment. Designated in Units, one rack unit - 1U- is equivalent to a 19 inch wide panel that is slightly less than 1.75 inches, for panel clearance. For example, a rack designation of 4U has a vertical panel space that is about 7 inches tall, and the 6U rack has 10.5 inches of panel space, and so on, with the overall case structure height always greater. Professional equipment manufacturers produce rack mounted equipment that is typically 1U, 2U, 3U or multiples of those heights. Rack shelves, panels, screws and drawers are available to accommodate radio equipment and accessories that are not built for rack mounting.
