DX Engineering Heavy-Duty 4130 Chromoly Steel Masts
DX Engineering offers Heavy Duty 4130 Chromoly Steel Masts in both 11 foot and 22 foot lengths. DX Engineering Heavy-Duty 4130 Chromoly Steel Masts offer ham radio operators an opportunity to stack large antennas. These 2-inch and 3-inch outside diameter galvanized masts feature a 0.250-inch wall thickness and meet ASTM A-513 Type 5 ratings. These high-strength carbon steel masts are cold-drawn and electric-welded with a specified yield stress rating of over 100,000 psi! Tensile strength minimum is above 110,000 psi. Minimum Rockwell B hardness is 96. They are temperature stress-relieved to ensure consistent mechanical strength. Compared to standard galvanized plumbing pipe, the Heavy‑Duty 4130 chromoly steel mast offers substantially greater strength and durability. The galvanizing on these masts meets ASTM A123/A123M specifications. As with all hot dip galvanized products, surface irregularities are normal. Any cut ends are protected with a cold galvanizing coating. Important: Because these masts are galvanized, their overall outside diameter will be larger than the nominal size. ROHN BRM4 Series Non-Penetrating Roof Mounts provide the option of installing antennas on flat roofs without attaching to the roof. No drilling, lag bolts, screws or other penetration of the roof is necessary. BRM Series mounts are galvanized for corrosion resistance and feature an integral mast. ROHN Torque Arm Stabilizer Assemblies
Keep your tower from twisting with one of these ROHN Torque Arm Stabilizer Assemblies. These devices are typically used at the top guying level with six guy lines to prevent large torsional forces on the tower that are caused during high winds on tower mounted items, especially side mounted dishes or very long boom beams, that have high wind surface areas. TBX Tower Sections
DX Engineering is pleased to offer TBX Tower Sections as an alternative choice for hams that want to assemble their own free-standing tower. Although there are only eleven discrete sections in the TBX stable, these sections may be assembled into Standard, Heavy-Duty, and Extra Heavy-Duty towers of varying height. TBX Tower Sections are lattice-style offset-mounting sections; each 8 ft. section offsets at the top to accept the next, smaller section. This method yields a tower that "steps down" in size the higher they go, but does so with sections that are essentially straight. Made of heavy-gauge contoured steel with riveted "X" bracing, these tower sections are also pre-galvanized for weather resistance and long life. Each section is supplied pre-assembled and arrives with the required hardware for an easy installation. To choose sections for your tower needs, start with a TBX1A top section for standard strength, a TBX2A top section for Heavy-Duty strength, or a TBX3A top section for Extra Heavy-Duty strength, and then add subsequently numbered sections to reach your desired height. Universal Towers Packaged Tower Kits
Universal Towers Packaged Tower Kits are engineered antenna support systems using predetermined straight and tapered 10 ft. sections for a self-supporting tower with a safe maximum antenna wind load rating at a specified height. Tapered towers minimize space and weight while maintaining high strength and high wind load ratings in a completely free standing structure that is durable and reliable. Universal Towers feature rugged, heavy-wall aluminum tubing legs and welded S-bracing made of high-quality aluminum for excellent strength as well as light weight. Each welded truss section is fully assembled, finished and supplied with the required hardware for easy installation. These free standing towers can raise large antennas into the open air easily with a concrete anchored hinged base. Universal Towers Packaged Tower Kits provide self-supporting radio antenna towers that actually fit and work where guyed towers cannot. Universal Tower packages are selected by wind load rating to a desired height. Very simply specified, the first number of the model number is the wind load rating* and the second number is the tower height. There will be no doubt that your unique combination of antennas and mast (plus rotator), with a known combined wind load, will stay safely in the air where they belong. Choose your engineered tower package from wind load ratings ranging from 3 to 35 sq. ft. covering heights ranging from 30 to 100 ft., with nearly 50 models to suit almost any location or antenna support requirement. Choose a Standard Duty or Heavy Duty Universal Tower Package to ensure the best reliability for your antenna system. Each Standard Duty package requires a Tower Base, B-14, B-18, B-22 or B-26 to match the bottom section leg spacing in inches. All Heavy Duty tower packages model number start with "HD" and use a B-30 Base for Universal's largest 30 inch bottom section. All bases have three high capacity 6 inch hinge sleeves securely bolted onto three 48 in. steel stubs with which to anchor the tower into the customer supplied reinforced concrete tower foundation; size depends on tower model.
