At the heart of every successful radio installation is the antenna support structure, because there is no substitute for a radio antenna that has sufficient height! DX Engineering Lightning Rod Mast Mounts
The use of DX Engineering Lightning Rod Mast Mounts could protect your tower, antennas and station equipment from disastrous lightning damage. DX Engineering Lightning Rod Mast Mounts are 1/8 in. heavy-duty stainless steel clamps that will long outlast your steel tower. Their optional bolts (choose DXE-LRMM-FAST by combined mast and lightning rod diameters) are also high-quality stainless steel. Together, they are extremely durable clamps to keep your lightning rod in place. Lightning searches out the path of least resistance to ground. If that path is your tower, rotator and rotor bearings, antennas and coax, or the ground and electrical connections to your rigs, then that's where it will go. Providing a better path (one with very little resistance) is the key to keeping lightning outside the shack and limiting damage. When used with proper tower grounding, a heavy rotor-bearing bypass cable and installed coaxial surge protectors, a lightning rod above your antennas may save the day. Don't ignore proper grounding and lightning protection! Make a list of all the items you need to upgrade your station's lightning defense. Make sure a mast mounted lightning rod and DX Engineering Lightning Rod Mast Mounts are added to your list.

Amerite Tower Base Plates
American Tower Company Amerite Tower Base Plates allow you to mount your AME-25, 45 or 55 series tower using several different methods. Amerite base plates cannot be used in self-supporting applications… they must be used for bracketed or guyed installations only. Amerite drive-in base plates are for mounting a bracketed or guyed tower directly onto tightly compacted soil; intended for short term and temporary installations. They are made of steel and are completely galvanized. Towers mounted on drive-in base plates MUST be bracketed or guyed at all times. They are designed to prevent the bottom of a temporary tower from "kicking out" and causing tower collapse. They are great for Field Day and other interim applications. Amerite hinged tower base plates allow you to mount your Amerite 25G-series tower using six 1/2 in. x 12 in. base bolts embedded in the concrete pier. Amerite hinged base plates enable the tower to be rotated up from the base during installation. Hinged tower base plates must be used in bracketed or guyed tower applications only. Be confident in your tower installation with Amerite tower base plates. Whether for roof or ground mounting, permanent-hinged or temporary use, these American Tower Company Amerite Tower Base Plates from DX Engineering help to raise your tower!
