Depending on how cables are connected, the tuner will operate in three modes: Icom, Yaesu or General, General mode also allows for remote operation of the tuner. The front panel has a 4.3 inch high resolution display that provides information as to the current operating mode, forward power in both PEP and Average power, with a bar scale that can show three ranges: 15W, 150W, and 1500W; in addition to the power output the antenna system SWR is also shown along with current toggleable settings such as antenna output selection, PTT status, which of the four buttons (LUP, LDN,CUP or CDN) was pressed last, and finally the current status of the tuner. DX Engineering TWIG End Fed Half Wave QRP Antenna Kits include the essential components needed to build a lightweight, low-power (QRP) end-fed half-wave antenna for portable and field operations. Ideal for activities such as POTA® and SOTA™, these kits are designed for quick deployment, efficient operation, and minimal equipment requirements. When properly assembled and tuned, TWIG End Fed Half Wave QRP antennas deliver an SWR of less than 2:1 without the need for an antenna tuner and are rated for 25 watts SSB, 10 watts CW, and 5 watts digital modes. At the heart of these kits is a 49:1 transformer that matches the high feedpoint impedance of the half-wave radiator to a standard 50-ohm coaxial feedline. The integrated BNC female connector is compatible with recommended coaxial cables and most QRP transceivers. Once the included antenna wire is properly tuned for the desired operating band, an external tuner is typically unnecessary, reducing pack weight and simplifying field operation. No separate counterpoise wire is required, as the coaxial feedline serves this function when installed correctly. To simplify assembly and deployment, the kits feature a built-in quick-connect wire terminal designed for use with the included 24 AWG antenna wire. Two end insulators and attachment clips are also included to provide secure strain relief and convenient field installation. A DX Engineering wire winder and reusable Bongo ties help keep the antenna organized and compact when stored or transported. A typical installation uses a sloper configuration, with the feedpoint positioned approximately 6 to 7 feet above ground level and the antenna wire extending upward to a height of 25 to 30 feet. For optimum performance, a 25- to 35-foot coaxial feedline with BNC connectors is recommended. An optional DXE-LPFC-BNC Feedline Choke installed at the transceiver end of the coax is also recommended to help minimize common-mode current. While the antenna can be deployed in a variety of configurations, final wire lengths may vary depending on the installation method and operating requirements. User assembly is required. Recommended tools and materials include wire cutters, a tape measure, 3/16-inch diameter rope to hang the antenna, electrical tape, a suitable throwing weight for antenna installation, and an antenna analyzer for trimming and tuning the antenna element to the desired operating band.

Featuring an all-metal design with telescoping support arms that are adjustable from 15 to 23" in height. This set of arms is paired with a quick release base allowing for easy relocation into a second vehicle or removal if the space is needed for cargo or people. An additional foot provides support to help keep the mount stable and reduce vibration. Multiple seat bolt brackets are included to accommodate a large selection of vehicles. The L-MAX 2.0 can handle up to 8 pounds of weight attached to the mount, providing a stable platform for all your mobile radios. The deluxe version of this mount includes a lightweight aluminum extension plate allowing for mounting more than a single device on the mount. The extension plate also includes a central ¼-20 threaded hole for mounting to the L-MAX 2.0's standard ¼-20 stud. Two included ball mounts allow for mounting of of various control heads using either the built-in mounts (on applicable models) or the mounting brackets provided by the radio manufacturers. Several mic clip hangers are also included allowing for hanging of microphones with buttons on the back or ones designed for hooks.

Comet Antennas No-Hole Fender Brackets
Comet No-Hole Fender Brackets are vehicle-specific truck and SUV mobile antenna brackets that mount without drilling. Unlike lip-mounts that use set screws and penetrate the paint; these brackets use bolts that already exist on your fender. Due to the particular vehicle-specific angles necessary to form these brackets, almost all are designed for the driver's side only. (There are only a few new right fender mounts!) By using an existing fender bolt, the bracket extends between the hood and fender gap. The mounted antenna sits vertically, along the side of the hood. A 3/4 in. hole in the bracket accepts the standard NMO connector and cable assembly. You may also use these brackets to attach an antenna that has a UHF mount. Simply choose a Comet UHF mount cable assembly; they include a large washer and jam nuts to keep the 5/8 in. diameter UHF connector from falling through the 3/4 in. hole in the bracket. NOTE: * Coaxial cable and base mount assemblies are not included with these brackets. * Not suitable for larger antennas which require the use of a heavy duty bracket.
