The Radio Source 630PD Lowdown 630-Meter Vertical Antennas
The Radio Source 630PD Lowdown 630-Meter Vertical Antennas provide Amateur Radio operators with an efficient and practical solution for operating on the 630-meter band in locations where space is limited. Compact, lightweight, and easy to install, these antennas deliver impressive performance without requiring a large area or tall support structures. Designed for installation above a horizontal ground radial system, the 630PD utilizes an inductively center-loaded, base-fed configuration with a capacitive top hat to maximize efficiency while maintaining a remarkably small footprint. Its rugged yet lightweight construction makes setup, takedown, transportation, and storage simple. The antenna is intended for ground-level installation over a horizontal radial field consisting of radials approximately 10 to 25 feet in length. When used with a ground system of 32 radials measuring 25 feet each and operated at typical input power levels of 100 to 200 watts, the antenna can produce an effective radiated power (EIRP) of approximately 2 to 4 watts, depending on local ground conductivity. At its maximum rated input power of 250 watts, EIRP can reach or exceed the FCC's 5-watt limit for the 630-meter band. The Lowdown 630PD is mounted to a ground support using insulated block clamps that secure the lower antenna section at two points approximately 18 to 24 inches apart. Installation is typically accomplished using a treated 4x4 or 6x6 wooden post set into the ground, leaving 3 to 4 feet exposed above grade. The upper clamp is mounted near the top of the post, with the lower clamp positioned at least 24 inches below to provide secure vertical support. For easier tuning and maintenance, a tilt-over mounting arrangement may also be used. An optional transmission line impedance transformer can be attached directly to the mounting post, with a short jumper connecting the transformer to the antenna feed point. Ground radial connections can be made conveniently using a copper or aluminum grounding ring installed around the mounting post, providing a simple and cost-effective method for attaching the required radial system. The result is a highly efficient, mechanically durable, and exceptionally compact antenna system that makes 630-meter operation practical for stations with limited space.

Chameleon Antenna Portable Resonant Vertical Antennas 2.0 is a lightweight rugged antenna designed for quick deployment and recovery in the field. As this antenna is modular it can be combined with components of the popular Chameleon MPAS antenna system. The Chameleon PRV 2.0 system comes with a 58-inch telescoping stainless steel whip, a single extension 27-inch aluminum mast, a puck hub for attaching the included four 12.5 foot long radial wires that are on wire winders, tent stakes, a blank adapter (for connecting the coax to the antenna) a 12 foot long coax cable made of RG-58 with an integrated RF choke, a set of band keys (to help with a starting point for tuning the antenna when setup. Several mounting options are available: a Ground Spike mount, jaw mount, carbon fiber mini tripod or no mount at all. If you use a camera tripod adaptor, you can use a heavy-duty camera tripod, monopod or a trekking pole as a support for this antenna. The MCC-PRV covers the 40 through 6-meter bands with the components included in the MCC-PRV in the following configurations: base loaded vertical, center loaded vertical and a vertical dipole for 6 meters. Once the antenna is set up, the included band keys help to get the coil set in an area that is close to the resonance point for the band you're set up for. As a resonant antenna, no tuner is required. A single operator can set up and tune the MCC-PRV-2 in about 10 minutes. The whole package, including the tactical storage bag, weighs a modest 3 pounds, 11 ounces. The storage bag has compartments for all the components of the MCC-PRV-2 and works to keep things organized. The modular approach to the MCC-PRV-2 allows for multiple antenna configurations depending on antenna height, efficiency and footprint available where necessary. By combining the MCC-PRV with the MPAS system, the range and abilities of the antenna system can be extended extend the range and ability of the MCC-PRV. SSB Electronic Mast-Mount Preamplifiers
SSB Electronic Mast-Mount Preamplifiers are low-noise, band-specific, weatherproof preamplifiers designed for installation near VHF and UHF antennas. Available for the 6 meter, 4 meter (Europe), 2 meter and 70 cm Amateur bands, these preamplifiers are installed in-line, at the antenna. They improve receive performance by amplifying weak signals before feedline loss can reduce them. Powering and Sequencing Most models can be powered remotely through the coaxial cable, and many modern transceivers include a built-in bias-tee for mast-mounted preamplifiers. If the transceiver or transverter system does not provide power, an external bias-tee or remote-feed unit is required. • The DCW-15 and DCW 2004B provide sequencing support. • The DCC-12 does not provide sequencing. • SP series preamplifiers include a built-in RF VOX circuit for safe operations up to 100 watts; for transmit power above 100 watts, PTT control with a sequencer is required, some required direct DC connection (UHF female). • -S series preamplifiers feature lower current signal relays with slightly higher insertion loss. • MHP and MHP-S series preamplifiers versions require sequencer control (see below). Signal Filtering and Switching Built-in helix filters effectively reject out-of-band signals, helping maintain clean receive performance. Real coaxial relays handle transmit/receive switching, resulting in very low insertion loss (except for SP-S series). And each amplifier is carefully calibrated at multiple test stations before packaging. Dual-Band Models Dual-band models include built-in diplexers, so they require only one connection for the multiband antenna and one connection for the station coaxial cable. MHP Series for Demanding Stations The MHP series is designed for demanding operating environments and provides higher gain for weak-signal modes such as Tropo-DX and EME. With maximum transmit power handling of 1500 watts on 6m and 2000 watts on 2m and 70cm, these preamplifiers are well suited for contesting, DX, and EME operation. Important Note for MHP Models Bias-tee power is not supported, as MHP Preamplifiers must be powered directly using the appropriate cable size for the required distance, and they may only be operated with a correctly wired sequencer, such as the DCW 2004 B Sequence Controller. Transmitting high power without a directly wired sequencer is likely to damage the MHP preamplifier. Housing and Hardware All SSB Electronic Mast-Mount Preamplifiers are supplied in UV-resistant, weatherproof housings with Type N female connectors. This kit includes 3 VFLEX Base modules, The Adapter Pack 1 and Adapter Pack 2 kits and a convenient storage case with foam cutouts that provide secure storage for the parts of the kit. The VFLEX Base is the heart of the VFLEX system, allowing you to connect a USB-C power adapter, such as one that comes with a laptop or a cell phone to a device that you own that still receives it's power from a barrel connector. Utilizing a cellphone or computer, the user can set the output voltage of the VFLEX Base, provided that the USB-C Power Supply can supply the voltage and amperage requested via USB-PD. Once the VFLEX Base is configured to provide the voltage that the device needs, a cable is plugged into the opposite side and then plugged into the device that needs power. Different cables support different devices, and selecting the cable is as simple as matching the diameter of the plug and off you go. A single tri-color LED on the VFLEX Base provides the tatus of the connection to a device on the USB-C side. The VFLEX Base is configurable for 3.3 to 48V, if the power supply you are using supports it. The VFLEX Base will work with any power supply that can negotiate voltage via USB-C Power Delivery. Additionally, this kit contains nine adapter cables that are also included in the Adapter Pack 1 and Adapter Pack 2 kits. These cables cover the most common barrel plug sizes. Seven of the cables are wired for center positive and two of them are wired for center negative (this is denoted by a red tip on the cable.) The two cables that are wired this way allow for connection of devices that are wired center negative without needing additional adapters. The storage case comes with space for up to six VFLEX Base devices, plus spaces for all the adapter cables. This hard sided storage case will help keep everything organized. DX Engineering TWIG End Fed Half Wave QRP Antenna Kits include the essential components needed to build a lightweight, low-power (QRP) end-fed half-wave antenna for portable and field operations. Ideal for activities such as POTA® and SOTA™, these kits are designed for quick deployment, efficient operation, and minimal equipment requirements. When properly assembled and tuned, TWIG End Fed Half Wave QRP antennas deliver an SWR of less than 2:1 without the need for an antenna tuner and are rated for 25 watts SSB, 10 watts CW, and 5 watts digital modes. At the heart of these kits is a 49:1 transformer that matches the high feedpoint impedance of the half-wave radiator to a standard 50-ohm coaxial feedline. The integrated BNC female connector is compatible with recommended coaxial cables and most QRP transceivers. Once the included antenna wire is properly tuned for the desired operating band, an external tuner is typically unnecessary, reducing pack weight and simplifying field operation. No separate counterpoise wire is required, as the coaxial feedline serves this function when installed correctly. To simplify assembly and deployment, the kits feature a built-in quick-connect wire terminal designed for use with the included 24 AWG antenna wire. Two end insulators and attachment clips are also included to provide secure strain relief and convenient field installation. A DX Engineering wire winder and reusable Bongo ties help keep the antenna organized and compact when stored or transported. A typical installation uses a sloper configuration, with the feedpoint positioned approximately 6 to 7 feet above ground level and the antenna wire extending upward to a height of 25 to 30 feet. For optimum performance, a 25- to 35-foot coaxial feedline with BNC connectors is recommended. An optional DXE-LPFC-BNC Feedline Choke installed at the transceiver end of the coax is also recommended to help minimize common-mode current. While the antenna can be deployed in a variety of configurations, final wire lengths may vary depending on the installation method and operating requirements. User assembly is required. Recommended tools and materials include wire cutters, a tape measure, 3/16-inch diameter rope to hang the antenna, electrical tape, a suitable throwing weight for antenna installation, and an antenna analyzer for trimming and tuning the antenna element to the desired operating band.
