Yaesu RF Mu-Tune Kits and Units
Yaesu RF u-Tune* filters, pronounced "Mu-Tune", are the most advanced and selective receiver front-end preselector filters ever made available for Amateur Radio transceivers. Adding ultra-sharp selectivity, these devices dramatically enhance the receive performance of compatible Yaesu transceivers. The receiver front-end pass band provided by Yaesu RF Mu-Tune Preselector is an amazing 10 to 30 kHz, depending upon band. This can be of tremendous value in ensuring clear and quiet reception on crowded bands, especially during contest and DX operations. RF Mu-Tune Kits are external add-on options which are available in three band coverage models for ONLY Yaesu transceiver model series' FT-dx5000, FT-dx3000, FT-dx1200, FT-950 and FT-2000. Choose any one, two or three units for the band coverage you desire: *RF Mu Tune Kit A External Preselector for 160 meters *RF Mu Tune Kit B External Preselector for 80 and 40 meters *RF Mu Tune Kit C External Preselector for 30 and 20 meters Connection cables are included with each kit for the use of one, two or all three of these external units with any of the excellent Yaesu transceivers listed above. Any or all of the connected optional RF Mu-Tune Preselectors automatically adjust to your operating frequency. Especially useful on low bands where strong signals are often adjacent to the desired weak signals, the high Q and shape factor of permeability-tuning was used successfully in many classic Yaesu transceivers. The advanced circuit design and ultra-high quality components of these modern Mu-Tune units narrows the front-end pass band to only a couple dozen kilohertz. Providing interference rejection significantly better than the transceiver's standard VRF (Variable Response Filter) preselector, Mu-Tune can also be manually adjusted to provide additional relief from near frequency interference. Yaesu RF Mu-Tune Kits are the most advanced RF preselector filters ever designed for Amateur Radio transceivers. Reduced Intermodulation Distortion and enhanced Blocking Dynamic Range with a lowered noise floor in your Yaesu transceiver is available with Yaesu RF Mu-Tuning Kits. Order yours from DX Engineering. *The Greek alphabetical character "Mu" in the manufacturer's name of these products is not presently available for this web display system. The lower case letter u and the word "Mu" have been substituted. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ NOTE: Three internal only RF Mu-Tune Units, options for pre-installation ONLY into the FTdx9000MP transceiver model, are available by calling to pre-order when ordering that transceiver. Yaesu provides their installation into your specially ordered FT-dx9000MP model only. They are listed for reference as follows: MTU-160 covers the 1.8 MHz band, the MTU-80-40 covers the 3.5 and 7 MHz bands and the MTU-30-20 covers the 10.1 and 14 MHz bands. These internal only units CANNOT be used with other models. They are also pre-installed into the FTdx9000D model version. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ All other applicable Yaesu transceivers model series' (FT-dx5000, FT-dx3000, FT-dx1200, FT-950 and FT-2000) require the Mu-Tune Kit A, B or C External Preselectors as described at the top of this listing and in the detailed listings.
