DX Engineering Rope Hardware Kits

DX Engineering Rope Hardware Kits are exactly what you need for all kinds of antenna projects that use support rope. Designed especially for use in conjunction with Mastrant Antenna Support Rope, these rope hardware kits provide just the right size pulleys, shackles, rope clips, duplex clips, carabiners, thimbles and quick links to facilitate fast and easy rigging, raising and lowering of wire antennas and guying of vertical antennas and antenna supports. They're great for experimenters, SWLs and Radio Amateurs who need to frequently adjust or "tinker" with their antennas. When used with new wire antenna installations, these products and Mastrant Antenna Support Rope allow for easy trimming or retuning of mono and multiband dipoles, end-feds, slopers and all types of wire antennas. Just lower, trim, and raise your antenna again until it's just right. For vertical antennas and support masts, use these kits for an installation that can be adjusted and disconnected easily, without having to constantly re-tie knots and deal with tangled excess rope. These kits feature stainless steel and metal-alloy parts for excellent durability and weather resistance. They will last a very long time. Are you raising a wire or vertical antenna or mast, or are using support rope on another project where strength and convenience are equally important? Consider using Rope Hardware Kits from DX Engineering for a professional looking project that really is stronger and is SO much easier to work on!

Kelemen Trap Dipole Antennas

Kelemen Trap Dipole Antennas are high-quality, heavy-duty pre-assembled wire antennas intended for permanent installations. They feature special traps made with of PTFE (Teflon®) insulated coax for high Q and low losses, offer high performance multi-band operations—and are excellent shortened antennas where there's not enough space for a full-size dipole. Kelemen Trap Dipole Antennas include a series of monoband models, as well as a series of multi-band models that cover an extensive combination of HF bands from 160m through 10 meters. Specific models handle either 400 watts, 1,000 watts or 2,000 watts PEP SSB and CW at resonance. Kelemen Antennas are fully temperature-resistant and weather-proof, and are manufactured from high-quality materials. Balun cases are constructed of transparent, weather-proof polycarbonate with a bottom-mounted SO-239 (UHF female) connector. Hardware and clamps are all stainless steel. Each antenna is completely assembled with the balun, clear PVC-insulated stranded copper wire, stainless wire clamps and egg insulators, ready for operation. Just add rope and coax to complete your Kelemen wire antenna installation. Kelemen Trap Dipole Antennas may be mounted horizontally or in an Inverted-Vee configuration with a central support required. Many Kelemen Antennas are perfect for portable operations because of their low weight. Their coaxial traps are much lighter than conventional traps, making it easier to keep the antenna at an effective height. In many cases they can be easily supported by a single fiberglass pole. For base operations, these antennas should be placed high, in an unobstructed location well away from buildings to limit shifting of resonant frequencies. Kelemen Antennas are often the best possible antenna choice for full-time base operations, offering the advantages of specialized multi-band coverage that perfectly complements the other antennas of the station. Order Kelemen Antennas in North America exclusively from DX Engineering.

Mastrant Antenna Support and Guy Line Ropes

Mastrant Antenna Support and Guy Line Ropes are available in several sizes and strength ratings, perfect for support of wire antennas, vertical antennas and antenna masts, as well as support of Yagi booms and elements. Mastrant ropes are of the highest quality for strength and are UV-protected for extended longevity. MASTRANT-O is a highly reflective rope (bright orange plus braided reflective tape) based on long-term proven Polyester (Dacron) product line. It is designed for maximum visibility in public places such as Field Day and POTA activities. Like all Mastrant ropes, it is UV stable and resistant to all weather conditions. It has low weight, great abrasion resistance, great durability and is nonconductive (no effect whatsoever on your antenna). Moreover, in contrast to ropes made from aramid fibers (Kevlar, Vectran, Technora, Twaron), it has knot strength about 60 %. Mastrant-P and Mastrant-R Ropes are stronger than other synthetic ropes of the same size, made from proven modern polyester. Mastrant-Q is a new rope made from a blend of polyester and polypropylene, designed specifically for guying applications. It offers an excellent performance-to-price ratio and has a knot strength of approximately 60%. It replaces Mastrant-P in diameters of 6 mm (1/4 in.) and larger. Mastrant-S is a similar polyester/polypropylene rope, distinguished by its highly reflective strands for increased visibility. Mastrant-M is their highest strength rope with the Dyneema® DM20 core, a superior synthetic rope offering high performance at an affordable price. Very high strength, negligible elongation, very low weight, and great abrasion resistance are all attributes that make Mastrant-M the best rope for guying. Larger, stronger sizes of Mastrant-M are used in Europe and other parts of the world for tower guying. Durability and safety are of prime concern to ensure that an antenna installation remains fully operational for a long time. Antennas and guy lines are exposed to changing weather conditions, mechanical strain, UV radiation, humidity, and more. These non-conductive synthetic fibers have all the necessary qualities: high strength, negligible stretch but good flexibility, long life, low moisture collection, fast drying, a minimum bending radius adding the ability to tie knots, good UV radiation resistance, weather durability and resistance to acids and alkali. Conversely, steel guying wires are heavy, difficult to work with, and their strength deteriorates with time due to corrosion and general aging. Electrical conductivity of steel guys is an undesirable feature, as they interact with the antennas and adversely modify radiation patterns. Thanks to recent developments in synthetic materials, both amateur and professional users are changing over to non-conductive guys and ropes. Mastrant offers these products for a variety of applications, from thin support lines used for wire antennas and beams, to rope guys for supporting small and portable masts and vertical antennas. When you need quality rope to install, replace, or modify your antenna systems, consider Mastrant Antenna Support and Guy Line Ropes, now available from DX Engineering.

Alpha Antenna JPole SR HF Multi-Band EmComm End-Fed Antennas

Alpha Antenna JPole SR HF Multi-Band EmComm End-Fed Antennas are designed to offer coverage across a across a wide frequency range. These 60ft. long End-Fed antennas cover the Amateur bands 160-10 meters. An external tuner is necessary for improved SWR across the frequency range, although bandwidth is limited on the 80M band. The Alpha Antenna JPole SR HF Multi-Band EmComm End-Fed Antennas are ideal for EmComm and other portable operations such as POTA and SOTA, providing reliable performance for both near and distant HF communications.
