ICOM IC-7300 HF Plus 50 MHz Transceivers
ICOM IC-7300 HF Plus 50 MHz Transceivers employ a new-technology real-time touch-screen spectrum scope that leads its class in resolution, sweep speed and dynamic range. While listening to received audio, you can check the real-time spectrum scope and quickly move to another signal. When you first touch the scope screen around the intended signal, the touched part is magnified. A second touch of the scope screen changes the operating frequency and allows you to accurately tune to the desired signal. The combination of the waterfall function and the real-time spectrum scope assists in maximum receive performance of IC-7300 radios and increases QSO opportunities without missing weak signals. The waterfall function shows a change of signal strength over a period of time and allows you to find weak signals that may not be apparent on the real-time spectrum scope. The audio scope function can be used to observe various AF characteristics such as microphone compressor level, filter width, notch filter width and keying waveform in the CW mode. Either transmit or receive audio may be displayed on the FFT scope, with the waterfall function and the oscilloscope. The large 4.3 in. color TFT touch LCD offers intuitive operation. Using the software keypad of the touch screen, you can easily set various functions and edit memory contents. IC-7300 transceivers employ an RF direct-sampling system. RF signals are directly converted to digital data and processed in the FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array), making it possible to simplify the circuit construction. This system is a leading-edge technology; creating a new era in amateur radio. The new "IP-plus" function improves 3rd order intercept point (IP3) performance. When a weak signal is received adjacent to strong interference, the AD converter is optimized against signal distortion. IC-7300 transceivers' RMDR is improved to about 97dB (typical value) and Phase Noise characteristics are improved about 15dB (at 1 kHz frequency separation) compared to the IC-7200. The superior Phase Noise characteristics reduce noise components in both receive and transmit signals. IC-7300's have 15 discrete RF band-pass filters. The RF signal is passed through only one of the band-pass filters, while any out of range signals are rejected. High Q factor coils are used to minimize the loss in the RF band-pass filters. The built-in antenna tuner memorizes its settings based on your transmit frequency, so that it can rapidly tune when you change operating bands. The Enforced Tuning function allows a wide range of temporary antennas to be tuned. NOTE: Do not use the Enforced Tuning function except in case of an emergency. Transmitter output power may be automatically reduced. IC-7300 transceivers can store various contents into an SD card, such as received and transmitted audio, voice memories, RTTY/CW memories, RTTY decode logs and captured screen images. Updated personal and firmware data can also be stored to the SD card for easy setting. To offer superior sound quality, a new speaker unit has been incorporated and is designed into the aluminum die-cast chassis; not just squeezed in as a necessity. Other IC-7300 features include: * HM-219 hand microphone supplied * Large, effective cooling fan system * Multi-function meter * 101 memory channels (99 regular, plus 2 scan edges) * Optional RS-BA1 IP remote control software (the spectrum scope with the waterfall can be observed) * CW functions: Full break-in, CW reverse, CW auto tuning Note: For additional information, look at the files under the "Documentation" tab. The innovative features included in ICOM's IC-7300 offer tremendous advantages and represent a paradigm shift for its modest price point. ICOM says of its 7300 that "The Real HF Fun Starts Here." Order one of their ICOM IC-7300 HF Plus 50 MHz Transceivers and discover the fun to be had with leading-edge technology transceivers from DX Engineering!

Mastrant Antenna Support and Guy Line Ropes
Mastrant Antenna Support and Guy Line Ropes are available in several sizes and strength ratings, perfect for support of wire antennas, vertical antennas and antenna masts, as well as support of Yagi booms and elements. Mastrant ropes are of the highest quality for strength and are UV-protected for extended longevity. MASTRANT-O is a highly reflective rope (bright orange plus braided reflective tape) based on long-term proven Polyester (Dacron) product line. It is designed for maximum visibility in public places such as Field Day and POTA activities. Like all Mastrant ropes, it is UV stable and resistant to all weather conditions. It has low weight, great abrasion resistance, great durability and is nonconductive (no effect whatsoever on your antenna). Moreover, in contrast to ropes made from aramid fibers (Kevlar, Vectran, Technora, Twaron), it has knot strength about 60 %. Mastrant-P and Mastrant-R Ropes are stronger than other synthetic ropes of the same size, made from proven modern polyester. Mastrant-Q is a new rope made from a blend of polyester and polypropylene, designed specifically for guying applications. It offers an excellent performance-to-price ratio and has a knot strength of approximately 60%. It replaces Mastrant-P in diameters of 6 mm (1/4 in.) and larger. Mastrant-S is a similar polyester/polypropylene rope, distinguished by its highly reflective strands for increased visibility. Mastrant-M is their highest strength rope with the Dyneema® DM20 core, a superior synthetic rope offering high performance at an affordable price. Very high strength, negligible elongation, very low weight, and great abrasion resistance are all attributes that make Mastrant-M the best rope for guying. Larger, stronger sizes of Mastrant-M are used in Europe and other parts of the world for tower guying. Durability and safety are of prime concern to ensure that an antenna installation remains fully operational for a long time. Antennas and guy lines are exposed to changing weather conditions, mechanical strain, UV radiation, humidity, and more. These non-conductive synthetic fibers have all the necessary qualities: high strength, negligible stretch but good flexibility, long life, low moisture collection, fast drying, a minimum bending radius adding the ability to tie knots, good UV radiation resistance, weather durability and resistance to acids and alkali. Conversely, steel guying wires are heavy, difficult to work with, and their strength deteriorates with time due to corrosion and general aging. Electrical conductivity of steel guys is an undesirable feature, as they interact with the antennas and adversely modify radiation patterns. Thanks to recent developments in synthetic materials, both amateur and professional users are changing over to non-conductive guys and ropes. Mastrant offers these products for a variety of applications, from thin support lines used for wire antennas and beams, to rope guys for supporting small and portable masts and vertical antennas. When you need quality rope to install, replace, or modify your antenna systems, consider Mastrant Antenna Support and Guy Line Ropes, now available from DX Engineering.
