BEP-4B Antenna Plates are fabricated from alloy 6061-T6 aluminum and are ready for the appropriate DX Engineering Saddle Clamps to combine for incredibly secure holding strength for your antenna building and mounting project. BEP-4B Antenna Plates are pre-drilled for these DX Engineering Saddle Clamps: -- For mounting a 1.500 in. boom, cross-boom, tower leg or mast use (2) DXE-SAD-150A Clamps -- Or, for mounting a 2.000 in. boom, cross-boom, tower leg or mast use (2) DXE-SAD-200B Clamps Then for the other side, mounting perpendicular to the larger clamps: -- For Mounting a 0.750 in. grounded element, rod or tube use (2) DXE-SAD-075A Clamps -- Or, for Mounting a 1.000 in. grounded element, rod or tube use (2) DXE-SAD-100A Clamps -- Or, for Mounting a 1.250 in. grounded element, rod, tower leg, or tube use (2) DXE-SAD-125A Clamps See our other Antenna Plates for other clamp size options. DX Engineering BEP-4B Antenna Plates provide a convenient method for grounded Yagi beam elements to be attached to booms when building Yagi, LPDA or other antennas. They are ready for the saddle clamps to hold a 0.750 in., 1.000 in. or 1.250 in. tubing for the center portion of a tapered antenna element on one side of the plate, and to mount the assembly onto a 1.500 in. or 2.000 in. boom tubing, perpendicular, on the other side of the plate. Boom to Element Plates are similar in function to Boom to Element Brackets in that they each attach the elements the boom. The primary advantage of these aluminum plates over insulated brackets is that it is a simple mechanical arrangement. The main disadvantage is that the plate does not insulate the element from the boom which means that the element dimensions that you bring from your antenna design program (YO, AO, EZNEC and others) will be incorrect unless you make some length adjustment for the width of the plate and boom. See our insulated Antenna Building Brackets and Plates for mounting driven elements and for other applications where insulated elements are desired or required. Don't forget to purchase a copy of DX Engineering's Yagi Mechanical to make sure your elements have the desired wind survivability. Please see our article about "How to Build a Yagi Antenna That Works". You can build a very affordable, high performance Yagi antenna with DX Engineering BEP-4B Antenna Plates and Saddle Clamps.

DX Engineering BEB-3 Insulated Boom-to-Element Brackets
DX Engineering BEB-3 Insulated Boom-to-Element Brackets now provide a convenient, low cost method for insulated elements to be attached to smaller booms when building Yagi, LPDA or other antennas. BEB-3 Brackets are an insulated plate made from an extremely strong polymer which is highly UV resistant. They are pre-drilled to accept DX Engineering Saddle Clamps. So, they are ready with two pairs of holes to mount 0.750 in. tubing for the center portion of a tapered, insulated antenna element, with two SAD-075A Saddle Clamps on one side of the plate. Of the other three pairs of holes, only one pair is used for the appropriate saddle clamp on the other side of the plate, to place the assembly onto an aluminum tubing or fiberglass boom measuring 1.250 in., 1.500 in., or 1.750 in. outside diameter. BEB-3 Brackets may also be used to mount a small beam with a 0.750 in. boom to a mast with a 1.250 in., 1.500 in., or 1.750 in. outside diameter, using DX Engineering Saddle Clamps. BEB-3 Insulated Boom-to-Element Brackets are suitable to build and mount antennas for 15, 12, 10, 6 and 2 meters with reasonable wind survivability. The described assemblies are also great for making a single-band rotatable dipole. For larger antennas please see our BEB-2 Insulated Boom-to-Element Bracket. When using a BEB-3 to build a split driven element for a Yagi or a rotatable dipole, use the SEI-1 Split-Element Insert to provide the proper 0.750 in. element tubing support. The DX Engineering BEB-3 Insulated Boom-to-Element Brackets separate and insulate the element from the boom thereby requiring no element length corrections. You can cut the tubing just like the antenna design program (AO, EZNEC, etc.) tells you and it will work as well as your computer model. You may also want to use our HMS-2P Hairpin Driven Element Matching System and our Baluns to complete your Dream Beam. Don't forget to purchase a copy of DX Engineering's Yagi Mechanical to make sure your elements have the desired wind survivability. DX Engineering Mast Top Mounting Plate
DX Engineering Mast Top Mounting Plate DXE-MTMP is a multi-purpose 16 x 5.1 inch (406.4 x 129.5mm) aluminum plate, 0.25 inch (6.35mm) thick, with a long edge flange bend 1.5 inch (38mm) deep for reinforcement. It is drilled for specific DX Engineering Stainless Steel V-Bolt Saddle Clamps and U-Bolt Saddle Clamps. A total of four clamps are required, which are sold separately for flexibility. This versatile, rugged plate and the optional clamps combine to add a strong extension mast above and in line with the original larger mast. This plate makes it easy to add a mast top antenna, electronic device or a strut tube for a boom support truss above a directional antenna. The DXE-MTMP mounts a smaller, short piece of tubing with a 1.000 to 1.500 inch (25.4 to 38.1mm) OD (outside diameter) above a larger mast or mounting tubing or pipe of either 1.00 to 2.00 inch (25.4 to 50.8mm) OR 2.375 to 3.000 inch (60.3 to 76.2mm) OD. This is the mounting plate now supplied with the DX Engineering XB-5 Hex Beam HF Antenna, DXE-XB-5-MMK. The DXE-MTMP can be used to remount an existing Hex Beam, and it is sold here separately for alternative clamp choices. As shown in the images, the DXE-MTMP reinforced plate has two pairs of upper holes with 6 in. (152.4mm) vertical spacing to use either of these DX Engineering Saddle Clamps: Two DXE-SSVC-150P for an upper steel mast mounting a range of 1.00 to 1.50 in. (25.4 to 38.1mm) OD, OR Two DXE-SAD-150A for aluminum or steel tubing that is exactly 1.500 in. (38.1mm) OD. Two lower pairs of holes also have 6 in. (152.4mm) vertical spacing. Use either of these V-Bolt Saddle Clamps: Two DXE-SSVC-2P for a 1.00 to 2.00 in. (25.4 to 50.8mm) OD steel mast, OR Two DXE-CAVS-2P for 1.00 to 2.00 in. (25.4 to 50.8mm) OD aluminum mast, OR Two DXE-SSVC-3P for a 2.375 to 3.000 in. (60.3 to 76.2mm) OD steel mast. Each mast requires about 8 in. (~200mm) of clamping length. Internal reinforcement of aluminum tubing or double wall thickness is encouraged. NOTICE: A total of FOUR DX Engineering Saddle Clamps are required, two for each steel or aluminum mast tubing or pipe. Other brand general hardware u-bolts will not fit this plate. Holes are drilled for the specified DX Engineering Saddle Clamps only. The user is responsible for appropriate and safe mechanical installation. No data is available for loading strength or suitability of use.

DX Engineering KX4O Vertical Dipole Antenna Support Plates
KX4O Vertical Dipole Antenna Support Plates are used in the construction of John Huggins' version of an increasingly popular portable HF antenna. It is called an "Asymmetrical Hatted Vertical Dipole," but John shortened the name of his version to "AHVD". It uses mostly off-the-shelf DX Engineering hardware to construct a very robust and versatile portable antenna. His approach is basically a tripod-mounted vertical dipole radiator with an inverted "hat" that serves as an asymmetrical counterpoise. It's an upside-down "T" in appearance! Assembled largely from telescoping aluminum tubes, the antenna elements may have their length easily changed to allow for single-band resonant-coverage from 20 through 10-meters. Due to the relatively large-diameter but lightweight aluminum tubing and electrical design of the antenna, bandwidth is very wide. At the center of John's version of the AHVD are two important items--the support plate and a 1 ft. long slit aluminum tube. DX Engineering is pleased to offer the pre-drilled support plate and the aluminum tube that are at the heart of the antenna! Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. When you consider building a five-band 20 through 10-meter HF portable antenna, give the KX4O version of the Asymmetrical Hatted Vertical Dipole a try. An engineering drawing, design discussion, and list of materials are available on the KX4O website. These KX4O Vertical Dipole Antenna Support Plates, as well as many other parts for this antenna, are now available from DX Engineering!
