Paradan Radio DC Gate 40+
Paradan Radio DC Gate 40+ is a 13.8 volt battery back-up system for powering your radio station, "go box", or RV. It can output up to 40 amperes from either the power supply or the battery. The radio, or other equipment connects to the or-gate output. One input comes from the power supply, the other input is connected to a 12 volt battery. The higher voltage of the power supply passes through to the output. But when AC power is lost and the power supply goes dead, the gate switches to the battery, instantaneously. When the power comes back on again, the gate switches back to the power supply, and the built in 2 ampere constant current charger rapidly restores the battery to full charge. Ideal for use with Bioenno Lithium-Ferrous-Phosphate batteries as well as sealed lead-acid batteries. The DC 40+ is solidly made on a heatsink and connections are Powerpoles. West Mountain Radio Super PWRgate Battery Backup Systems are built to handle the job, with two 80 ampere Schottky diodes configured as an OR-Gate, they isolate and switch your equipment between power supply and battery operation. Capable of safely handling a continuous 40 amperes on almost any 12 Vdc power supply and battery combination, they make a true solid-state UPS (uninterruptible power supply). With a built-in four-stage, high-power, current limit selectable smart battery charger, Super PWRgate Battery Backup Systems are ideal for the ham shack, emergency communications systems (EmComm), or anywhere DC power is crucial. Connected equipment instantly and automatically switches to battery power during an AC power blackout or power supply failure. Super PWRgate units eliminate the danger of connecting a power supply directly across a battery, which can damage many power supplies. Using your power supply and a PWRgate also avoids introducing hum and RF interference that is caused by most lead-acid battery chargers. Astron Battery Backup Modules
These Astron Corporation Battery Backup Modules are wonderful power supply accessories! They switch your load to a backup battery upon power supply failure--automatically! These modules also use your power supply to charge wet or SLA standby batteries in either 12 or 24 volt systems. Fuses on the battery side provide protection during charge and discharge. A front panel LED is used to indicate full, discharging, or charging conditions for your batteries. Maximum battery load is 30 amps and maximum charging current is limited at 3.6 amps.
