DX Engineering Wire Antenna Balun Mounting Brackets
DX Engineering Wire Antenna Balun Mounting Bracket Kits are custom designed specifically for mounting high-performance Maxi-Core® 20 Baluns or legacy Comtek baluns. These kits include the virtually unbreakable combination balun mounting frame and wire antenna center insulator bracket, two DX Engineering End Insulators plus all stainless steel hardware. This unique design provides minimum capacitive coupling between the antenna wire and the field surrounding the balun core. Wire Antenna Balun Mounting Bracket Kits are the ideal starting point for building a top-performing and long-lasting coaxial cable fed single-band or multi-band wire antennas. Use a DX Engineering Maxi-Core® 20 Balun or Comtek balun, or other manufacturer's similar NEMA box balun, for a resonant or off-center fed dipole, inverted-V or loop. Use the optional coaxial cable strain relief (DXE-CSR213-1 for RG-213 or RG-8U sized coax or the DXE-CSR8X-1 for RG-8X sized coax) with your optional dipole wire (DXE-ANTW Antenna Wire) and antenna rope, all from DX Engineering. These patented** balun wire antenna insulator brackets and end insulators are made from a super high-strength UV resistant black poly-resin compound. They provide an exclusive serpentine wire-weave grip for insulated antenna wire. This method of threading the wire provides a grip strong enough to permanently support the antenna wires without the need for soldered wrapped wire ends onto the antenna wires. DX Engineering Balun or Choke Mounting Plate and Bracket Kits
DX Engineering Balun or Feedline Choke Mounting Plate and Bracket Kits provide a variety of mounting solutions for DX Engineering Maxi-Core® 20, Comtek and other brands that use 4 x 4 x 2 in. plastic NEMA boxes. This rugged polymer plastic plate and stainless steel bracket kit may be used at the base of any vertical, on the boom of a Yagi or beam antenna, or even on a mast or post. This unique perpendicular mount provides a beneficial separation between the ferrite of the balun or choke and the metal tubing of the antenna or mount, resulting in improved choking performance. This UV black high-strength polymer mounting plate provides additional isolation between the feedline and the antenna system for optimal performance and decoupling. The stainless steel mounting bracket has holes laser cut for any one of these optional heavy-duty DX Engineering V-Saddle Clamps. DX Engineering Bead Choke Standoff Kits
DX Engineering Bead Choke Standoff Kits bring a practical solution to a serious problem when ferrite chokes are placed directly onto the metal boom at the feedpoint of beam antennas. A number of Amateur Radio operators and antenna engineers have known for years about the superior choking function of many ferrite toroids beads placed directly on the coaxial cable, as compared to standard feedpoint baluns. A more recent revelation is that the proximity of ferrite beads on coax taped to the aluminum boom of the antenna drastically reduces their effectiveness. DX Engineering Bead Choke Standoff Kits are mounting systems, made of fiberglass or acetyl standoff rods (color varies), PVC carriers and stainless steel hardware, available in four versions. Two sizes of PVC cradle tubes handle two different types of RF bead chokes; 3/4 inch outside diameter (OD) ferrite beads on RG-400 size cable, and 1 inch OD ferrite beads on RG-213 size 0.405 in. coax cable. Each are offered with two different boom size clamps, 2 inch OD and 3 inch OD. Bead Choke Standoff Kits simply hold an RF bead choke and feedline 4 inches away from the metal beam antenna boom (or 4 inches away from the metal mast for a dipole). They maintain the optimal choking performance of ferrite beads on coax. Using DX Engineering Bead Choke Standoff Kits, ferrite bead chokes function at peak performance for these key results: • Prevent feedline radiation of RF • Preserve current balance for proper beam antenna pattern • Prevent feedline shield exterior collected noise and signals from entering the antenna and interior of the feedline, resulting in lower noise floor and enhanced reception The absolute superiority of RF chokes made of many beads on the feedline, over the traditional enclosure balun, is becoming better understood in Amateur Radio. They achieve the best possible RF isolation of the feedline from the antenna and provide completely balanced currents at the feedpoint. Plus, they provide quieter reception with reduction of common-mode noise. Keeping Bead RF Chokes away from metal preserves the optimal function of this method of antenna feedpoint current balance and isolation. This mechanical requirement is simple and practical with DX Engineering Bead Choke Standoff Kits.

DX Engineering Balun and Feedline Current Choke Mounting Kits
DX Engineering Balun and Feedline Current Choke Mounting Kits allow you to mount a legacy "metal case" DX Engineering balun or feedline current choke at the base of any vertical antenna. This original mounting plate is not drilled for the Maxi-Core 20 Baluns and Feedline Chokes released in February 2020. Please see DXE-MC20K-BRKT to mount the plastic NEMA box models. For the older metal case models, this polymer mounting plate is isolated from the rest of the vertical ground system for best performance and decoupling. The mounting brackets were designed to utilize DX Engineering's V-bolt DXE-CAVS-1P saddle clamps, to mount the bracket onto a 1/2 to 1-3/4 in. ground pipe which mounts the balun or choke horizontally. Also available are the heavy duty DXE-CAVS-11P for 1/2 to 1-3/4 in. aluminum pipe and DXE-SSVC-2P for 1 to 2 in. steel pipe. V-bolt saddle clamps are not included and will need to be purchased separately if you choose to mount your bracket to a ground pipe. If you are mounting to a 4x4 or 6x6 wooden post, then no clamps are necessary--simply use 2 suitable wood screws. These kits work with any DX Engineering balun or choke with a formed-aluminum enclosure. Each kit includes a polymer mounting plate, aluminum adapter brackets, and stainless steel mounting hardware.
