West Mountain Radio ISOpwr+ Auxiliary Battery Isolators protect the primary battery while supplying power to the "spare" battery and equipment. With an ISOpwr+ isolator, the vehicle battery will never be drained by leaving the equipment turned on, so the vehicle will always start! ISOpwr+ Isolators are automatic solid-state ON-OFF switches, without relays, that charge an auxiliary battery and run mobile radio equipment, powered by the vehicle alternator when the car is running. The ISOpwr+ turns ON when the car is running and the line is over 13.3 volts. The ISOpwr+ turns OFF when the alternator is not running and the vehicle battery has fallen below 12.6 volts, but equipment will continue to run from the auxiliary battery. ISOpwr+ Auxiliary Battery Isolators work safely with all types of batteries including 12-volt standard Lead-Acid, Flooded Lead Acid, Gelled and AGM. They are ideal for use in all vehicles utilizing an auxiliary battery, for many diverse purposes: Radio Command mobile set ups for ARES, RACES, FEMA; contest VHF/UHF rovers; medium powered Amateur Radio equipment; re-charging stations for electric model airplanes, boats and cars; DC powered TVs or stereos in RVs and campers, and so much more! ISOpwr+ isolators may be used without an auxiliary battery, as a power interrupt, to automatically turn on a transceiver or other device only when the car is running. In this battery saving application, the radio will turn off automatically after a short delay when the vehicle ignition is turned off, so you won't have to remember to turn off the transceiver. ISOpwr+ features a USB port for setting operating thresholds and for monitoring and has a smaller and lighter weight enclosure.
