West Mountain Radio PWRguard Plus DC Protectors
West Mountain Radio PWRguard Plus DC Protectors are solid-state series switches that automatically detect and disconnect when a DC power system fault occurs, including over-voltage, under-voltage and short circuit conditions. Designed specifically to protect your radio, power supply and battery backup from damage, PWRguard Plus instantly turns off if the DC line exceeds 15 volts or drops below 11 volts for more than 3 seconds, and automatically or manually reset when the line returns to 13 volts or above. Momentary voltage dips below 11 volts are ignored to prevent false tripping while transmitting. PWRguard Plus DC Protectors have Powerpole connectors for input and output and handle 30 amperes continuous duty and 40 amp peaks and feature a soft turn-on solid-state circuit with no relay contact bounce, to protect equipment from in-rush current and spikes. LEDs indicate system conditions and a mutable piezo buzzer sounds every minute when PWRguard Plus turns the DC power off due to a system problem. In addition to protecting your equipment, battery and power supply from self-inflicted trouble, PWRguard Plus DC Protectors also have a sense input connection inside that can be wired to a switch, contact closure or can be triggered by a 3 to 5 volt DC. This means, PWRguard Plus can also be controlled with a Key Locking Switch to prevent radio operation during down time, system or antenna repairs, cut power based on input from a water or a heat sensor, or turn power on or off with a photo-electric circuit or other low current sensor switch; only your imagination can limit the useful applications for the PWRguard Plus! Samlex Battery Isolating Load Protectors
Samlex America Battery Isolating Load Protectors protect both the battery and the load connected to it. If the load becomes excessive, the device will disconnect the load, protecting the battery from damage. If the voltage rises from the power source, driving the battery voltage high, then the load will be disconnected from the excessive voltage. Samlex Automatic Charge Isolators
Samlex Automatic Charge Isolators are specialized battery isolators that protect both the batteries and the load connected to them. They are normally used to isolate a starting battery and a reserve battery. However, if the voltage from the power source rises, driving the battery voltage high, the load and the utility battery will be disconnected from the excessive voltage.
