EAntenna HEX6B Six Band Hexbeam Antenna

EAntenna HEX6B Six Band Hexbeam is a directional HF antenna for the six Amateur bands 20, 17, 15, 12, 10 and 6 meters. This design follows the ideas of G3TXQ Steve Hunt, the originator of the Broadband version of the Hex Beam antenna. However, this mechanical construction is a version refined by EAntenna with their long-standing antenna engineering experience. The result is an efficient, lightweight portable antenna for the high HF DX bands, which is ideal for use for DXpeditions and vacations. An installation at 20 ft. above the ground can work quite well, but a tower-mounted Hexbeam at a height of 35 to 60 ft. is known to perform as intended and produce excellent DX results. The HEX6B works as two element beam on each band. Ready-to-use wires and ropes are attached to the fiberglass struts and due to the mechanical tension of the struts, the beam is stretched to its fixed size all the time, so there is no sag on the wires. The radiator dipoles are connected to the vertical center support, with each band wire element attaching with screw clamps. The center support is designed as a coaxial transformer and balun, providing a particularly good match on each band, with one feedline for all six bands. The HEX6B forward gain is approximately 3dBD or better, the front/back ratio is between 13 and 22dB. SWR is 1.5:1 or better on all bands except 10m, where SWR is 2:1 or better. Each band can be used in full bandwidth without a tuner. The maximum allowed power is 5 kW. The fiberglass tubes are double coated against UV radiation. The setup of the HEX6B six band beam is simple and can be done by one person in about 30 minutes. All ropes and wires are ready, cut to length, so no tuning is required. Due to the low weight of only 18.7 lbs. (8.2 kg) this hex beam can be installed on a light aluminum push-up mast. Rotation is either done with a small rotator or by hand. The HEX6B mast clamp accommodates poles with a Diameter from 1.10 -2.05 in. (28-52mm).

InnovAntennas DXC-140 40 Meter Rotatable Dipole

InnovAntennas DXC-140 40 Meter Rotatable Dipole covers the entire 40-meter band with particularly good efficiency, impressive SWR bandwidth and a very reasonable wingspan, just over 39 ft. (12m). There are several methods to shorten a mast-mounted rotatable dipole, including loading coils and capacity hats. The position of the coils is critical to efficiency--closer to center is mechanically easier, further out is electrically better. The designer has used both methods to build the Delta C-140 antenna robustly and efficiently, limiting the size to a turning radius under 20 ft. (6 m) that many radio amateurs can easily mount on their tower mast and rotate within their property limits. The advantage of this design is a very large usable bandwidth of the antenna--the DXC-140 can be used over the entire internationally approved range from 7.0 to 7.3 MHz without having to use a tuner (SWR 2:1 or better). In the DXing range from 7.0 to 7.2 MHz, the SWR is usually equal to or better than 1.6:1, making the efficiency of the antenna 89 percent! Due to the robust construction of the DXC-140, no guy wires are necessary. Some of the images of this model installed show examples with guy wires, as chosen by individual user dependent upon the location, due to the expectation of snow and ice, for example. However, the mechanical design and construction will handle heavy loads, with the element diameter of 2.17 in. (55mm) in the center with a wall thickness of 0.078 in. (2mm). The element diameter decreases towards the end of the element save weight, but the ends still have a diameter of 0.98 in. (25mm) to easily support the capacity hats. All in all, the DXC-140 antenna combines a carefully calculated design with a very robust construction from an experienced antenna designer. This is also supported by the materials used: UV-resistant insulators, seawater-proof stainless steel hardware, and aircraft-grade aluminum elements. The result is a rotatable dipole with high efficiency, with an overall length of only 39.4 ft. (12 m) and a weight of only 18.7 lbs. (8.5 kg). The InnovAntennas DXC-140 40 Meter Rotatable Dipole is creating enthusiasm for many radio amateurs around the world. Order the DXC-140 for your station from DX Engineering.

InnovAntennas DXR Series Multi-Band HF Beams

InnovAntennas DXR Series Multi-Band HF Beams have short booms with full-size elements or capacity-loaded shortened elements, all with excellent performance, making them very popular internationally. The DXR Series interlaced-element antennas, optimized by G0KSC over a long period of time, achieve the best possible balance between compact size and performance. For the DXR Series Multi-band Yagis, equal attention was paid to a very solid construction and sufficiently small component and packaging size, to keep shipping costs within reasonable limits. Click on any model listed for specific details and specifications. InnovAntennas DXR Series Multi-Band HF Beams are available exclusively from DX Engineering in North America. Important features of InnovAntennas DXR Series Multi-Band HF Beams: * No traps, matching links, or hairpins * Only one feed line for all bands * Careful selection of materials without regard to cost * Very robust construction with still manageable package size The DXR Series beams use a 1.97 x 1.97 in. (50 x 50 mm) square boom with 0.078 in. (2 mm) wall thickness. A square boom has the advantage that the elements cannot twist in the plane. On the other hand, it is slightly heavier than a round boom of the same stiffness. The DXR Yagis do not require any bracing of the boom. The longest elements are 1.378 in. (35 mm) diameter in the middle and taper relatively quickly to achieve a good compromise between weight and strength. This construction also helps to avoid constant vibration even in light winds. With these multi-band Yagis, care has been taken to ensure that there are never more than the elements of three bands nested within each other. This is because each additional element for one band can cause interference on another band. This negative effect was avoided by careful manual optimization. The result is the best possible matching over a wider band range than other antenna designs. In most cases, no tuner is necessary; the SWR minimum can be precisely set by adjusting the element lengths. Due to the robust construction and the absence of moving or electrically active components such as coils, traps, hairpins, etc., an InnovAntennas DXR beam is maintenance-free for many years. The insulators are UV-resistant and designed for a wide temperature range. The mounting hardware uses sea-water resistant stainless steel and the aluminum is type T6 6066/6082, which is also used in aviation. It is nice not to have to climb the mast every year to maintain the antenna. The DXR Series Multiband beams are designed to require only one feed line. This makes installation on a mast with a rotor very easy. And the use of modern SDR transceivers, which allow the observation of several bands at the same time, becomes really useful. The one feed line is connected directly to the solid distribution rails of the fed elements. By avoiding baluns, matching elements, traps, or hairpins for tuning, transmit power is only limited by the coaxial cable and connectors. Note: Front-to-back ratio (F/B) and SWR bandwidth data for the DXR Series will be added as it becomes available. Many models of the DXR Series are available as a "super-compact" version, on which the longest elements have been shortened with capacity hats, thus reducing their turning radius considerably. The installation of these impressive antennas is possible even where space is limited.

InnovAntennas DXC-240 2 Element Compact 40 Meter Yagi

InnovAntennas DXC-240 2-Element Compact 40 Meter Yagi features very good efficiency, a relatively small footprint and exceptional bandwidth. There are several methods to shorten a dipole or the elements of a beam, including loading coils and capacity hats. However, coils reduce efficiency if they are mounted too close to the middle of the Yagi and capacity hats can reduce the length by only a few percent. Through careful calculation and robust construction, InnovAntennas designer Justin Johnson, G0KSC, has managed to craft this two-element beam for 40 the meter band with a boom that is just under 23 ft. (7m) in length. The elements have a maximum length of 37.73 ft. (11.5m) and this beam achieves a 2:1 SWR bandwidth of 120 kHz without the use of an antenna tuner. The DXC-240 is a rugged, seriously heavy-duty 40 meter Yagi featuring a 2.362 in. (60mm) square boom with a wall thickness of 0.079 (2mm), making it very stable, even without truss ropes. The elements use 1.97 in. (50mm) diameter aluminum tubes in the middle, which quickly taper to 0.98 in (25mm) at the ends. The DXC-240 has a wind area of 13.5 sq. ft. (1.25 sq. m), weighs 110 lbs. (50 kg) and has a turning radius of 22.1 ft. (6.73 m). Solidly constructed, efficient loading coils are at the middle of each half element, exactly where they belong to minimize losses and maximize bandwidth! Additional efficient reduction of length is achieved with capacity hats at the ends of the elements. The result is a compact 2-Element Yagi for 40 m that can achieve gain of about 10.53 dBi at 65.6 ft. (20 m) above ground with a spec of 6.29 dBi free space gain and a typical front to back of 15 dB. Impedance matching with an adjustable hairpin that provides a 50 ohm feedpoint that does not negatively affect the usable bandwidth. Order the InnovAntennas DXC-240 2-Element Compact 40 Meter Yagi from DX Engineering. Enjoy an efficient and heavy-duty 40 meter 2-element beam that is so compact, it can be installed at many radio amateur's stations.

InnovAntennas 10M or 11M LFA-Q Loop-Fed Quad Beams

InnovAntennas 10M or 11M LFA-Q Loop-Fed Quad Beams from G0KSC represents significant development of LFA Yagis with a substantial difference: LFA-Q (Loop Fed Array Quad) Beams use top and bottom booms with through-boom LFA Yagi-style loops arranged vertically for every element. This very rugged design achieves better gain for a given length of boom and much lower noise for better signal quality compared to conventional Yagi antennas. InnovAntenna LFA-Q quad structure provides high directivity, eliminating unwanted spurious radiation. They achieve great side and rear rejection while retaining excellent gain, front-to-back and SWR bandwidth across the band. These are amazingly compact, high gain directional antennas, constructed to withstand serious weather conditions! Antennas of this series can be built and tuned to operate on a 500 kHz section of the 10 meter 28 MHz Amateur Band or on the 11 meter 27 MHz Citizens Band. The desired band is easily selected by changing the length of the outer element sections during construction – exact dimensions are provided in the instructions. The driven loop element feedpoint impedance is 50 ohms which allows a direct feed at high transmitting power. Vertical stacking of two or more antennas can significantly increase directivity, gain and signal quality; an interesting alternative when available space prevents the installation of long boom beam antennas. Just like other HF quads, LFA-Q vertical loop-fed quads are inherently quieter than a Yagi of the same size, making them a perfect choice for use in any location with high ambient noise level, such as a city or densely populated neighborhood. There is a 10M or 11M LFA-Q Loop-Fed Quad Beam version that matches your space, support, and wallet: - The 2-element economy version has loop spacing booms of only 2.3 ft. (70 cm); - The 3-element compact version booms are 10.5 ft. (3.2m) in length: - The 4-element performance model boom lengths are 26.9 ft. (8.2 m). Each LFA-Q is very stable mechanically, with mast clamps on each boom, top and bottom! Thanks to the use of high-quality materials, extensive modeling and testing, the durability and reliable performance of InnovAntennas 10M or 11M Loop-Fed Quad Beams is undeniable.
