Unified Microsystems BevFlex-4X and BevFlex-4X/Q Reversible Receive Antenna System
Unified Microsystems BevFlex-4X Reversible Receive Antenna System is a very versatile two-direction low band receiving antenna. This is the updated and improved version of the W8GNM revolutionary design that uses only low cost, low loss RG-6 for the elements and the feedline of a Reversible Beverage antenna or Reversible Beverage on Ground antenna. Plus, it uses specially designed transformer units that allow the feedpoint unit to be placed anywhere along the length of the Reversible Beverage or BOG, instead of only at one end or the other. Like for other Beverage antennas, the Elevated Beverage or a Beverage on Ground (BOG), the performance of the reversible BevFlex-4X system depends upon the length of the user supplied RG-6 coax for the antenna element. Also, the versatile BevFlex-4X components may be used to create a two-direction version of any one of these antennas, using a much shorter length of wire for the receiving element: * EWE * Flag * VE3DO Loop BevFlex-4X Systems consist of four components; one Feed Unit, two Terminator Units and one Control Switch Unit. The Feed and Terminal Units are house in NEMA rated enclosures and use stainless steel hardware for maximum weather protection. Do you need enhanced reception in four directions? The BevFlex-4X/Q combines two sets of Terminator and Feed Units with the RAS-4 remote antenna switch to let you hear better in all four quadrants. The BevFlex-4X antennas can be any mix of Beverage, BOG, Flag, EWE, or VE3DO. The included RAS-4 Remote Antenna Switch only requires a single coax and four wire control cable to the shack. NOTE: An in-shack four direction switch control box is not included. Choose a control console from DX Engineering, EA4TX and others, or build your own. Just add RG-6 coax and ground rods! Click "More Details" and the Brochure link at the Documentation tab to see pdf diagrams of all of these two and four-direction BevFlex receive antenna system connections. Depending upon the real estate you have available, the FAQ chart will help you choose the Unified Microsystems BevFlex-4X or BevFlex-4X/Q configuration that fits your property and your low band reception needs!

United Microsystems BT-75/BOG Beverage-On-Ground Antenna Transformers
The United Microsystems BT-75/BOG Beverage-on-Ground (BOG) Antenna Transformers are specifically designed for Beverage-on-Ground receive antennas and is based on the proven BT-75 transformer used with elevated Beverage antennas. Because BOG antennas are installed directly on or just above the ground, they require no supports and can be significantly shorter than traditional Beverage antennas, making them a practical option where space is limited. BOG antennas typically exhibit lower impedance than elevated Beverage antennas. The BT-75/BOG is optimized to provide proper impedance matching between the antenna and 75-ohm RG-6 coaxial cable, improving performance compared to standard Beverage transformers. For correct operation, the far end of the antenna must be terminated with a 250 to 300-ohm resistive load. The United Microsystems RXT-270 termination resistor is recommended. Properly installed Beverage antennas are low-noise, receive-only antennas that provide excellent rejection of signals and noise from the undesired direction. Due to the lower velocity factor of radio waves near the ground, a BOG antenna can often deliver a radiation pattern similar to an elevated Beverage antenna of roughly twice the length, though with reduced signal strength. A BOG antenna as short as 150 to 200 feet can provide effective receive performance, although a preamplifier may be beneficial in some installations. The BT-75/BOG is designed for use with 75-ohm RG-6 coaxial cable. Originally developed for television applications, RG-6 offers low loss at VHF and UHF frequencies, resulting in extremely low loss on the 160, 80, and 40-meter bands. Its availability and low cost make it a popular choice for low-band receive antenna feed lines. The transformer is housed in a NEMA-rated enclosure with stainless steel hardware for long-term outdoor durability. A built-in gas discharge tube across the antenna terminals helps protect the transformer from nearby lightning-induced surges, although it will not provide protection against direct or very close lightning strikes.

QRO.cz Classic Single Output 2-Wire Bi-Directional Beverage Antenna Systems
QRO.cz Classic Single Output 2-Wire Bi-Directional Beverage Antenna Systems are designed for efficient direction switching using an internal relay, with control achieved directly over the coaxial cable. When no voltage is present on the coax, the antenna operates in the reverse direction (compared to a single-wire beverage). Applying voltage to the coax switches the antenna to the forward (straight) direction, matching the behavior of a single-wire beverage antenna. With careful design and construction, a single 2-wire beverage antenna can provide excellent performance in two directions. Unlike single-wire systems that use only a load resistor at the end, this system uses a transformer specifically designed to match the antenna's impedance. All transformers in the system must be precisely calculated based on the antenna's physical parameters—such as height, wire spacing, and wire diameter—to ensure optimal performance.

DX Engineering Reversible Beverage Systems
DX Engineering Reversible Beverage Systems basically allow two Beverage antennas to be switched to receive in opposite directions while sharing the same physical space. DXE-RBSA-1P Reversible Beverage Systems antennas provide two opposite "end-fire" directional patterns with excellent front-to-rear directivity and superior signal-to-noise ratio as compared to transmitting antennas. Dramatically improved long distance weak signal results may be achieved on MW and the 160, 80 and 40 meter bands, including shortwave bands, with receive-only Beverage antennas using wires that are typically only 350 to 800 feet long, depending upon the band of interest. The two-direction DXE-RBSA-1P Reversible Beverage Systems offer a space and installation advantage because two opposite single-wire Beverage antennas would require twice the length. DX Engineering Reversible Beverage Systems are immune to the strong signal overload and core saturation common in multi-transmitter contesting environments and are used by winning contest stations and low-band DXers around the world. These Reversible Beverage antennas have two "F" connectors; one "Away" port for the default end-fire receiving pattern off the end of the wire, and one "Toward" port for the opposite direction. The standard configuration of these systems has the "Toward" port terminated (75-ohm termination included), so both antennas share a common feedline. Applying a negative 10 to 18V DC to the feedline switches the system between the two antenna ports for reception in opposite directions. For simultaneous reception from opposing directions, each of the two feedlines can be run to separate receivers, with the termination load not used. You can build a 4-direction receive antenna system with two DXE-RBSA-1P Reversible Beverage Systems and one DX Engineering RLS-2 Two-Port Receiving Switch that also requires only one feedline! The optional DX Engineering Feedline Voltage Coupler, model DXE-FVC-1 is highly recommended to provide all of the required feedline voltage injection. Plus, the optional DXE-EC-4 BCD Control Console completes the system for four-direction switching right in the shack. DX Engineering Reversible Beverage Systems are optimized to use our optional 450 ohm ladder line for the antenna element. We strongly recommend using that type of "window line" because the consistent spacing of the antenna wires will produce the best operational results. However, the RBS will work with any 300-600 ohm 2-wire line. For best feed line results, DX Engineering highly recommends using our high quality flooded or quad-shielded 75-ohm coax with F-type compression connectors to ensure a weatherproof installation. Additional features include: * Broad operating range, 0.2 to 30 MHz * Fully isolated grounds prevent common-made noise and unwanted signals * 75 ohm design enables the use of high quality, low cost cable and connectors * RF shielded housing used for isolation and improved life * Directional Switching Voltage: nominal 12V AC or negative 12V DC, feedline injected * Directional Switching Current: less than 80 mA * Antenna impedance: 300-600 ohm (450 ohm recommended) * Feedline impedance: 50-75 ohm (75 ohm recommended) * RBSA-1FP Feed Point unit dimensions: 5.5 in. width x 3.5 in. depth x 1.5 in. height * RBS-1RT Reflection Transformer unit dimensions: 2.125 in. width x 2.125 in. depth x 1.125 in. height Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information.
