AALogic MCI-102 Mic Control Interfaces
AA Logic MCI-102 Mic Control Interfaces allow you to use one microphone on two different radios, even if those radios are from different manufacturers. The MCI-102 also lets you use the same foot switch and amplifier key line on either radio, with no cable juggling, just the flip of a switch. The front panel features four switches: Power, Key Enable, Radio Select and Mic Select, LEDs to indicate status of the MCI-102 at a glance, as well as an RJ-45 and 8-pin foster connection. The rear panel features a pair of 8-pin foster connections, a 1/4-inch mono jack for a foot switch, a 1/8th inch stereo jack for a boom mic, and RCA connectors for key lines and ALC lines, common to an amplifier, and lines to each of the radios. Power is supplied via the included power adapter. SOTAbeams Speech Compressors
SOTAbeams Speech Compressors are available in two versions; ready-built or as an easy-to build kit with a build time of approximately 40 minutes. Unleash your DX potential! The FT-817 and FT-818 are great little radios, but their SSB speech power does lack punch. Here is a fantastic external AF dynamic compressor that will aid readability and maximize the performance of your radio, which is essential when using QRP. Speech Compressors work by raising the average level of your audio signal, giving greater "talk power" with an apparent improvement of up to 6 dB! SOTAbeams Speech Compressors are Plug- and-Play! They have a modular 8-pin jack for your Yaesu microphone and a modular cable is included to connect the unit to the radio microphone input. The compressor function can be switched on or off, and the module draws its DC power directly from the transceiver (approximately 10mA). The compression level is adjustable and modifications to your microphone or transceiver are not required! An additional, very useful feature of this compressor unit is a tuning tone. Press the Down button on the microphone while the PTT is depressed to activate the tone, which is useful for adjusting tuners and antennas. The SOTAbeams Speech Compressors are also suitable for use with all versions of Yaesu FT-900, FT-857, FT-897 and FT-450 transceivers. IMPORTANT: Speech compression cannot be used on FM mode.
