Yaesu M-90D Desktop Microphones
Yaesu M-90D Desktop Microphones utilize a finely tuned dynamic element to deliver rich low to mid frequency response, desirable for a clear and concise conversational sound that is pleasing to the ear of the listener. The oversize dynamic microphone element and windscreen of the M-90D is designed to accentuate voice input from the front and limit ambient noise and sounds from the side. The attractive desk stand base of the M-90D features a large PTT bar switch, a PTT lock button, and both 8-pin modular and round connectors at the back. By swapping the orientation of the supplied coiled cord cable with 8-pin round and modular connectors at either end, the M-90D may be used with virtually any Yaesu HF transceiver*. For difficult band conditions, a built-in, low-cut filter creates clear and crisp audio characteristics by shaping the low frequency response (cut off at 340Hz, -6dB/octave). An integrated isolation transformer enhances the audio quality of this fine microphone, which also uses three air cylinder tubes, similar to the M-1 Reference Microphone, to provide a lifetime of solid, smooth, and noiseless PTT operation. Yaesu M-90D Desktop Microphone specifications: Microphone type: Dynamic element, preamplified Supply voltage: 5.0 V DC ±10 percent (supplied by most Yaesu transceiver mic connectors*) Frequency response: 30 to 17000 Hz Sensitivity: -60 dB (1 kHz 0 dB=1V/1Pa) Microphone impedance: 600 ohms Dimensions (WHD): 4.17 x 7.56 x 4.98 in. (106 x 192 x 126.5mm) Height maximum when microphone head position is flat Weight: 18.70 oz. (530 g) without cable NOTE: The M-90D Mic head does not disconnect from the desk stand base for other uses. (See M-90MS Mic Head for boom or mic stand applications.) The M-70 has a simple one-touch PTT key lock button placed just above the PTT key for those long rag chews. This mic preamp features an isolation transformer integrated into the circuit board to enhance audio quality. Also, a built-in Low-Cut filter allows shaping of the low frequency response with a roll-off at 340Hz, -6dB/octave. An ON/ OFF sliding switch is located on the bottom of the microphone. Yaesu M-1 Reference Microphones
Yaesu M-1 Reference Microphones are the ultimate, high-quality, most-innovative desktop microphones and are dedicated to the most discriminating Ham Radio Operators. They feature combined Condenser (Electret) and Dynamic microphone elements. The Condenser Microphone Element produces greater frequency response and a clear, crisp audio characteristic that's perfect for being heard on crowded bands and in big DX pile-ups. The Dynamic Microphone Element delivers the rich low to mid tonalities, much favored for local QSOs and rag chewing. The response of each microphone element may be adjusted independently using the internal, Nine (9) Band, Graphic Equalizer. Each element has a separate gain control for independent adjustment of output levels. The output of each microphone may be selected separately, or they may be combined to produce the most pleasant tonal quality. Both the Condenser Element and Dynamic Element in the M-1 utilize the Nine (9) Band Graphic Equalizer centered at (63Hz, 125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, 1 kHz, 2 kHz, 4 kHz, 8 kHz and 16 kHz). Each element's frequency response is independently adjustable. Two (2) frequency response memories and a "through" (bypass) mode are provided for each element, and are easily switchable by using one-touch buttons on the microphone base. The supplied TBC (Treble Boost Cowling) enhances the voice response around the important 1 to 1.5 kHz range. Attaching the cowling creates a condensed unique tonal texture that is pleasing for many. The PTT key uses three Air Cylinder Tubes which incorporate a contactless magnetic switch that ensures long-life and stable, noiseless operation. Yaesu's M-1 supports a wide range of Yaesu models including the FTDX-101D and FTDX101MP, FTDX10, FTDX-9000 and FTDX-5000 series, FTDX-3000/D, FTDX-1200, FT-2000/D, FT-991A, FT-891 and the FT-450/D as well as many other Yaesu rigs.
