DX Engineering Phased Array Quarter Wave Tuned Cables
DX Engineering Phased Array Quarter Wave Tuned Cables ensure optimum pattern control and gain from your phased antenna system. These cables are custom built to your array frequency, made with the highest quality waterproof PE jacketed, direct-burial RG-11/U 75-ohm low-loss foam coaxial cable and terminated with silver plated PL-259s. From the system phasing unit to each array element, these phasing feed-lines are one quarter wavelength long electrically, which differs from the free-space dimension by the velocity factor of the cable. The electrical dimensions of these cables are critical to system performance. These cables, manufactured to DX Engineering specifications, have a nominal velocity factor of 0.82, providing plenty of physical length for easy burial and routing from the base of the vertical to the center-mounted controller. DX Engineering Phased Array Quarter Wave Tuned Cables are custom built by DX Engineering. Each is hand crafted and electronically tuned to a specific HF frequency. Typically, they are tuned to the same frequency as the antenna array. DX Engineering Pretuned Quarter-Wave Phased Array Cables
DX Engineering Pretuned Quarter-Wave Phased Array Cables are ready to go into your phased array for 80 or 40 meters. These RG-11U coaxial cable assemblies are electronically tuned during production to 3650 kHz and 7100 kHz, the two most popular phased array frequencies. Pretuned Quarter-Wave Phased Array Cables ensure optimum pattern control and gain from your phased antenna array. They are available individually, in pairs and in four-packs, all terminated with soldered silver-plated PL-259s. These cable assemblies are exactly as required for many 80 and 40 meters phased arrays including Comtek Hybrid Four Square Arrays, DX Engineering TFS4 Four Square Arrays, as well as DX Engineering Dual Vertical Arrays. DX Engineering Pretuned Quarter-Wave Phased Array Cables are made from the highest quality waterproof PE jacketed, direct-burial RG-11/U 75-ohm low-loss foam coaxial cable. They are called "phasing feed-lines" because they are one quarter wavelength long electrically, which differs from the free-space dimension by the velocity factor of the cable. DX Engineering Four-Square Array Three-Quarter Wave Tuned Cables
DX Engineering Four-Square Array Three-Quarter Wave Tuned Cables are offered for your antenna system where the recommended quarter wave cables will be too short for your installation. There are cases where the phasing controller relay unit must be mounted away from the exact physical center of the array, such as when elevated verticals or elevated vertical dipoles are used. Three-quarter wavelength tuned cables are then required. The electrical dimensions of these cables are critical to system performance. They're made from the highest quality waterproof, direct bury 75-ohm RG-11/U gas-injected low-loss foam coaxial cable. Their length differs from a free-space dimension by the velocity factor of the specific cable type. These cables, manufactured to DX Engineering specifications, have a velocity factor of 0.84, providing the maximum physical length to allow for easy burial and routing from the feedpoint of the antenna to the controller relay unit. DX Engineering Four-Square Array Three-Quarter Wave Tuned Cables must be ordered for your desired frequency. These custom built tuned coaxial cable assemblies ordered from DX Engineering are hand crafted and electronically tuned to a specific HF frequency. Typically, customers request that they are tuned to the center or slightly below the center of their antenna array band, depending upon their planned modes of operation.
