The first, by Professor Mike Underhill, G3LHZ, of the University of Surrey at Guildford, UK, entitled 'The Truth About Loops,' gives an exhaustive account of the performance of the much-maligned small loop, which also takes into account the loop's situation. Approaching the same problem from the computer modelling angle is the subject of the second invited article, 'A Brief Overview of the Performance of Wire Aerials in their Operating Environments,' from Jack Belrose, VE2CV. Great care has been taken to ensure that there are antennas to cover the range from 136kHz to 1.3GHz, receiving and transmitting, fixed and mobile. Everyone interested in antenna design and construction will find something in this book.
