Transceiver Keying Switches
Heil Sound Hand Switches
Heil Sound HS-2 Hand Switches are ergonomically designed pistol-grip hand switches combining functionality with ease of use. A typical application would be to key a transceiver when using a microphone without PTT, or in a noisy environment where VOX operation is useless or erratic. They feature a pistol grip, so you can operate the switch as a trigger, rather than as a tiring thumb-operated push button. Heil Sound HS-2 pistol grip hand switches terminate in a 1/4 in. phone plug for connection to the 1/4 in. female pigtail of the Heil Microphone Adapter Cables and Headset Adapter Cables, thus providing push-to-talk (PTT) control of almost any transceiver and microphone combination. Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. When you want total PTT control, Heil Sound HS-2 Hand Switches from DX Engineering are a great way to go!

SOTAbeams Click2Tune Easy Tuning Dongle for Yaesu FT-817, FT-818, FT-857 and FT-897
SOTAbeams Click2Tune Easy Tuning Dongle for Yaesu FT-817, FT-818, FT-857 and FT-897 makes keying the radio and using a tuner a snap! If you use one of these Yaesu transceivers with an antenna tuner, you've noticed the lack of simple way to quickly send a carrier for tuning. To do so requires a change of mode. Given the slightly clunky user interface on these radios, sending a tone at the desired power level can require several key presses. It's annoying in the shack and can be very frustrating in the field. This is especially troubling if you are using a narrow-banded magnetic loop that needs frequent retuning as you traverse the band. The Click2Tune Easy Tuning Dongle makes the tuning process so much easier! This tiny dongle contains a sophisticated microprocessor that plugs into the back of your radio. Once set up, tuning just requires a double click of the microphone PTT switch to send a carrier; that's all. Brilliant! With the FT-857 and FT-897 you can tune at low power, as the Click2Tune allows you to select the tuning mode. You are able to tune at 25 watts--especially important for protecting auto-tuners. By the way, it is the same Click2Tune Dongle that can be used on all of these radios; you don't need different types. The SOTAbeams Click2Tune Easy Tuning Dongle for Yaesu FT-817, FT-818, FT-857 and FT-897 is a very useful accessory that is sure to make your mobile and portable operating easier!

SOTAbeams Click2Tune Transceiver Keying Switches
SOTAbeams Click2Tune Transceiver Keying Switches are the answer for effortless ICOM low-power tuning. If you use one of many ICOM HF radios with an antenna tuner or amplifier you have noticed the lack of any convenient way to send a low-power carrier for tuning purposes. To do so requires that you to change the mode to AM or FM, reduce the power, and press the PTT. It's annoying in the shack and can be very frustrating in the field. This is all the more of a problem if you use a narrow-band antenna such as a magnetic loop that needs frequent re-tuning. It's also a problem if you use your transceiver with an amplifier. Various "solutions" have been suggested, the most common being a dongle with a capacitor and a resistor. While this works, the tune period is fixed and it will not tune reliably twice in short succession. The fixed tune period is particularly problematic if you use your radio with a high power amplifier, because if you do see a mismatch you'll want to act quickly. Click2Tune for ICOM radios provides you with complete and reliable control. It transmits a low power carrier (user selectable level) without any need to change the mode and for as long as you press the button - YOU are in control. SOTAbeams worked hard on getting the ergonomics right so that it sits nicely in your hand and they even tried three types of buttons before they found one that had the right size and "feel". They are great accessory for any ICOM radio that supports their auto-tuner. Tested on: IC-7300, IC-7100, IC-730, IC-746 (ant. 1), IC-9100 (ant. 1). For example, if your transceiver supports the ICOM AH-4, you'll be good to go! Click2Tune for ICOM is available as a kit. This kit's build time is around 30 minutes. Order DX Engineering part number SBM-CLICK2TUNEKT for the build-it-yourself kit version. In the kit you'll get: * Genuine Molex components * Mil spec 4 wire shielded cable for good RFI performance (1 meter long) * Top quality professional switch * Double-sided professional PCB and other quality parts (total 17 parts) Make it easy to tune your ICOM transceiver on LOW POWER.
