Some of these antenna packages include the tuner and some include tuner mounting brackets and hardware only, for those who already own that tuner. Like any HF vertical, Upgrading your MBVE-5 or MBVE-5A to a MBVE-5AE vertical does require a good ground radial system. We highly recommend installing 32 radials, 65 feet long are recommended. Fewer or shorter radials will work, but with some diminished results. A great ground-mounted vertical has the available space covered with 20 or more evenly spaced radials, each of any length from 15 to 65 feet. Do the work and you'll work the world! ™
