Heil Sound's iCM Microphones
Heil iCM microphones are high performance mics specially designed for owners of earlier ICOM transceivers that exhibit low gain in the microphone amplifier stage. Two models are available: the original Silver version and the new Black and Gold version. Not cheap electret microphones, the iCMs utilize a high-quality condenser element with a broad frequency response (35 Hz to 12 kHz) and high output that is crafted for compatibility with the ICOM transceivers. DX Engineering Vertical Antenna Guying Kits
Some vertical antenna manufacturers indicate that their antennas do not need guying. During times of high winds or ice loading, however, some of these vertical antennas may sustain damage or fail altogether. With the small amount of effort needed to install one of these DX Engineering Vertical Antenna Guying Kits, the risk hardly seems worth taking. They feature a 4-point guying scheme that provides the best mechanical advantage to prevent wind stress, regardless of direction. The guying is intended for stability only and should never be depended on for primary support. DX Engineering Vertical Antenna Guying Kits are especially recommended for use with DX Engineering tilt bases, because just one of the guy ropes has to be loosened when you tilt the vertical down. The remaining guys help to stabilize the vertical in three directions when being raised. These kits have been designed to be used with ground-mounted quarter-wavelength vertical antennas, such as DX Engineering monoband and multiband verticals and the Hustler 4, 5, and 6-BTV models. Using the DX Engineering vertical antenna guying kits, you can install four guy ropes approximately halfway up the vertical antenna system to ground level and angled at approximately 45 degrees. Guying should be tightened just enough to permit the antenna to swing a few inches. The ends of the ropes are tied to the earth anchors that are screwed into the ground at about the same angle as the ropes. Tie the other ends of the ropes to the vertical antenna just above one of the antenna element clamps or traps (a guying ring is not required). DX Engineering Phillystran Steel Tail Kits provide the appropriate transition from non-metallic to metallic guying cable at the ground end of tower guying systems. Steel Tail Kits are available for Phillystran HPTG-4000I, -6700I and 11200I Guy Lines. What is the function of the steel tail? Here is the recommendation by Phillystran, the manufacturer of HPTG-I High Performance Tower Guy non-metallic guy lines: A steel tail is a length of EHS (Extra High Strength) steel guy line connecting the HPTG-I assemblies to the turnbuckle or guy anchor. The steel tail protects the HPTG-I assemblies from damage due to brush fires, lawn maintenance equipment or vandals. The patented* DX Engineering Tilt Base Antenna Mounting Systems enable an operator to raise or lower an antenna in seconds, while leaving the base of the antenna securely attached to the mounting plate and post. DX Engineering Tilt Bases make it easy to tune your vertical, repair, or simply lower your antenna to a safe horizontal position long before bad weather hits. One person can install, raise and lower, and service their vertical antenna with our stainless steel Tilt Base; just walk it up or down. The Tilt Base prevents potential accidents when climbing a step ladder to tune the antenna, especially on soft ground. This is an essential tool that has helped countless hams eliminate the possibility of personal injury and damage to their ground-mounted vertical antenna. There is no need to remove brackets from the support posts and you will never again have to lift the entire weight of the antenna in order to tilt it down or tilt it up. SOTAbeams ContestConsole is a control switch unit for Icom transceivers, provides full access to compatible ICOM rig contest memory functions, and more. Easily connected between your radio and microphone, it is simple to use and feature packed. PicoAPRS-Lite APRS Transceiver Module - the little brother of the popular PicoAPRS. This is a tiny APRS tracker weighing just 7.2 grams*! Even though the PicoAPRS-Lite was developed with balloon flights with APRS payload (Pico balloons and stratosphere balloons) in mind, it can naturally also be used for many more APRS purposes. Thanks to its small measurements of just 27.8 x 66.9 x 6.3mm this tiny tracker can, for example, be installed nearly invisibly in cars. This allows for APRS usage without annoying wiring in the car or too short antenna cables. You can even carry the tracker around in your pocket! An SMA antenna jack is offered separately since its weight of about 2 grams is an unnecessary extra load for the light Pico balloons. This is also the reason why the tracker is being delivered without a case. Special functions of the PicoAPRS-Lite: - Automatic or manual frequency tuning on request.
