M2 Antennas HO LOOP Antennas
M2 Antennas HO LOOP Antennas provide easy SSB, CW and Digital communications out to 200 miles or more. These are great VHF and UHF antennas for the new operator just getting started in either mobile or base weak signal operations. HO LOOP Antennas are the right choice for any operator who wants the convenience of omnidirectional coverage, with the correct polarization, without investing in a rotator and support that is required for Yagi antennas. HO LOOPs transmit and receive horizontally polarized signals that are required for weak signal operation, where verticals are not effective. Horizontal polarity permits HO LOOPs to add upwards of 5dB of ground gain that verticals cannot. As with most horizontally polarized antennas, performance improves dramatically with height above ground, especially on VHF and UHF bands. Physically, the HO LOOP Antennas are square, fabricated from two 3/8 in. diameter aluminum tubes to minimize losses. Their sealed feed block provides weather protection with minimum wind drag. The heart of this unique design is the shorted stub matching to a 50 ohm coaxial feedline. They are lightweight and have very low wind area, which makes them ideal for stacking in base or mobile operations. Mounting is via a single 3/8 in. hole that is standard for most mobile hardware, with optional mounting hardware available for base* or mobile installations, as shown. Minimum vehicle mounting height and stacking separation dimensions are displayed in the details for each HO LOOP. Gain figures appear below and in their Instruction Manuals. *NOTE: Mounting of HO-LOOPS on a 1-1/4 to 2 inch mast for base operations requires the optional MSQ-MASTBRKTKIT. Enjoy the thrill of VHF and UHF weak signal operations with M2 Antennas HO LOOP Antennas from DX Engineering! Gain figures for each loop at specific heights above ground for mobile operations. However, loop installations for base operations should be as high above ground as possible, just as though it were a beam (but no rotator required). 50 MHz Gain: Single HO Loop at 11 ft. is 4.2 dBd at 25 deg.; Stack of 2 HO Loops at 40 ft. and 52 ft. is 8.2 dBd at 6 deg. 144 MHz Gain: Single HO Loop at 10 ft. is 4.0 dBd at10 deg.; Stack of 2 HO Loops at 82 in. and 132 in. is 8 dBd at 9 deg. 222 MHz Gain: Single HO Loop at 84 in. is 4.7 dBd at 7 deg.; Stack of 2 HO Loops at 84 in. and 117 in. is 8.2 dBd at 7 deg. 432 MHz Gain: Single HO Loop at 86 in. is 5.0 dBd at 4 deg.; Stack of 2 HO Loops at 84 in. and 100 in. is 8.8 dBd at 4 deg.

DX Engineering Aluminum Tubing
DX Engineering High-Strength Aluminum Tubes are ideal for your antenna building projects. It is made available in sizes that fit into and over the next, with close tolerances specifically designed for strength when joined and overlapping only by a few to several inches, to build Yagi, Moxon or vertical antenna elements. NOTE: This tubing is NOT intended for each size to telescope completely into the full length of the next; it cannot be used for telescopic mast building. DX Engineering aluminum tubing is manufactured to very close tolerances. This provides the greatest amount of surface contact between nesting tubes for mechanical and electrical stability. Due to the close tolerance, any burrs, dirt, grit or other foreign material, as well as dents, dings and unseen bending or crushing suffered during shipment will cause binding that prevents this aluminum tubing from fully nesting. 6063-T832 seamless drawn aluminum tubing is available in 3, 6 and 12 ft. lengths. 6063-T832 tubing provides good resistance to general corrosion, including stress corrosion cracking, and an excellent surface appearance. Use a series of 3 ft. lengths to build an element that tapers more quickly for lower wind-resistance applications. Use a series of 6 ft. lengths to make an element that tapers more slowly for greater strength and bandwidth. The 12 ft. lengths are great for HF Yagi construction. Most sizes (except 12 ft.) are available slit on one end for use with DX Engineering stainless steel element clamps. If un-slit ends are required for your applications, merely insert the slit end into the next larger size in the stack and use your own attachment method. 6063-T832 tubing features a 0.058 in. wall thickness and is available in 1/8 in. increments from 3/8 in. to 2-1/8 in. O.D. 3003-H14 drawn aluminum tubing features a 0.035 inch wall thickness and a 1/4 inch outside diameter. Each piece is supplied with non slit ends and is available in both 3 foot and 6 foot lengths, making them ideal for your antenna building projects. If your setup requires maximum strength at very long assembly lengths, then choose DX Engineering 6061-T8 tubing. This heavy-duty version features a 0.120 in. wall thickness and is available in 1/4 in. increments from 1-1/2 in. to 3 in. O.D. Packaged shipments of 6 ft. tubing have oversize shipping fees, regardless of the number of 6 ft. pieces. Therefore, order more 6 ft. pieces to spread oversize fees over more tubing for a more cost effective shipment. Tubing that is 12 ft. long MUST be shipped by truck freight. If you need many pieces of the same size in a 12 ft. tube length, then buying DX Engineering High-Strength Aluminum Tubing Bundles (elsewhere in our catalog) maximizes the economy of scale for your shipping costs. NOTE: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. Order DX Engineering High-Strength Aluminum Tubing here.

I0JXX Power Dividers
I0JXX Power Dividers serve as RF combiners and splitters for 50 ohm VHF/UHF and EHF antennas and feedlines. They are hand-tuned with advanced test equipment to achieve the specified frequency range. I0JXX Power Dividers are made with Type N and 7-16DIN female common connectors and precision Type N antenna port connectors for extremely low loss and constant impedance. They are constructed with aluminum tubing and solid metal center conductors to make air dielectric coaxial lines with nearly immeasurable insertion loss. Power Dividers are used in VHF and UHF multi-Yagi stacked arrays to impedance match two, three, four, six or eight horizontal Loop or Yagi antennas. Standard low-loss 50 ohm coaxial cable Type N male assemblies, each the exact same length are required from each antenna feedpoint to its respective power divider port. But phased wavelength cables are not required. All Yagis or horizonal loops are fed together in phase, separated by the proper stacking spacing, and pointed in the same direction. As compared to a single antenna, stacked Yagis can yield 3 dB gain for two antennas and practically 6 dB gain for four antennas, with only minor losses deducted for the feedlines, connectors and the power divider. Each pair of stacked antennas nearly doubles the effective radiated power of the station. Available now at DX Engineering, I0JXX Power Dividers offer a superior way of combining and splitting RF in stacked Loop or Yagi arrays.

DX Engineering Maxi-Core® 20 Baluns and Feedline Chokes
The present-day DX Engineering was launched in the year 2000. To celebrate our 20th Anniversary in the year 2020 we have developed a new line of Baluns and Feedline Chokes. Introducing DX Engineering "Maxi-Core® 20" Baluns and Feedline Chokes. They reduce or eliminate currents on the outside of your feedline allowing you to hear and to be heard much better. They keep more RFI/BCI out of your antenna and receiver and transfer more of your transmitted signal to the antenna for higher efficiency, the best antenna pattern and maximum performance. Signaling a new era of RF performance across the 1.8 to 54 MHz frequency range, DX Engineering Maxi-Core® 20 Baluns and Feedline Chokes handle full-legal-power-plus and provide higher common mode impedance (CMI) across a greater frequency range than competing models and even previous DX Engineering and Comtek models. Years of R&D coupled with major advancements in test equipment and techniques combined with custom ferrite materials have allowed our engineering team to design the DX Engineering Maxi-Core® 20 Baluns and Feedline Chokes. Maxi-Core® 20 Baluns and Chokes have high CMI across the AM Broadcast band and the HF/6M spectrum, which is essential to provide sufficient suppression of unwanted transmitted and received RFI/BCI current on the feedline shield exterior. Hear and be heard with DXE Maxi-Core® 20 Baluns and Feedline Chokes. Choose superior performance from these models: * DXE-MC20-1-1 Maxi-Core® 20 - 1:1 Current Choke Balun - For all HF-6m balanced antennas with a 50 ohm feedpoint, including resonant dipoles, loops, Yagis, beams, etc. * DXE-MC20-FC Maxi-Core® 20 - 1:1 Feedline Choke – This high CMI line isolator is perfect for use in line on 50 ohm coaxial feedlines, at the antenna, tower or shack end of the feedline. * DXE-MC20-1-1T Maxi-Core® 20 - 1:1 Current Choke Balun – This 1:1 "T" model is for force feeding antennas with a tuner. Use it at the end of ladder line of any impedance or mounted on a coax fed non-resonant antenna. This model tolerates operation at high SWR on non-resonant multi-band antennas. * DXE-MC20-C4-1 Maxi-Core® 20 - 4:1 Current Choke Balun is for use on antennas with a 200 ohm feedpoint and at the end of any impedance ladder line, especially on antenna systems with higher impedance. This model tolerates operation at high SWR on non-resonant multi-band antennas. * DXE-MC20-V4-1 Maxi-Core® 20 - 4:1 Voltage Balun is a 200 ohm to 50 ohm transformer for use on random long-wire and OCF antenna applications. This true voltage balun is intentionally designed with low CMI for antennas that need a transformer without RF choking for easier antenna tuner operation and it tolerates elevated SWR. Maxi-Core® 20 Baluns and Feedline Chokes are built into a convenient weather resistant NEMA enclosure that is mounted easily with optional brackets. They feature 1/4-20 stainless steel hardware and a high quality silver-plated PTFE dielectric SO-239 (UHF female) input connector. The SO-239 connector limits power handling to 5 kW at low SWR and reduced power at elevated SWR. These baluns and the feedline choke exhibit very low insertion loss and inherently low SWR. Optional mounting brackets are available for use on wire antennas or for verticals, Yagi and beam antennas. See the Suggested Parts tab after clicking "More Detail" on the model of interest. Combination packages that include balun or choke and mounting bracket are also available.
