Butternut HF9V Vertical Antennas work nine popular bands--80 through 6 meters--with an extremely efficient vertical radiator that's only 26 ft. tall! The HF9V antennas are easy to erect and tune antennas that will last you for many years. An internationally acclaimed antenna design, Butternut HF9V antennas require a complete ground radial system. The antenna comes with a 1 1/8 in. base insulator and a 1 1/4 in. O.D. x 2 ft. mounting tube for direct placement into the earth. The preferred, "easiest-to-tune", high-performance installation is the ground mounted HF9V, which requires a bare minimum of 12 evenly spread, straight radial wires. Many more radials are better, with double the number of evenly spread radials achieving nearly double the efficiency and signal performance, an effect that tops out at about 60 ground radials. Each radial wire stapled onto the ground or run an inch or so below the soil surface, may be any length from 20 to 45 ft. RM ITALY BLA350 Plus HF Linear Amplifiers
RM ITALY BLA350 Plus HF Linear Amplifiers are compact and fully automatic with up to 300 watts output at less than 12 watts input on all Amateur bands from 160 through 10 meters. These amplifiers include fast hardware protection circuits to protect the power transistors in the event of a high SWR condition on the antenna feedline. Two 50Vdc MACOM MRF150 RF Power FETs in Class AB push-pull configuration is automatically or manually switched to one of six low pass filters that provide over 50dB harmonic suppression. The built-in 800VA power supply functions on input house current at either 110 to 120 Vac or 207 to 244 Vac. Therefore two versions of the amplifier are available, RMY-BLA350P-120 or RMY-BLA350P-240, which include the appropriate fuses and AC power cord. The BLA350 Plus may be used on all narrow band modes of transmission including SSB, CW, AM, FM, RTTY, FT8 and so on, using reduced power (25% of PEP) for AM and digital modes. Internally a dual microprocessor controls a variable speed cooling system. On the front panel is a large, attractively illuminated analog output power meter. Plus, the two-line 16 character LCD display shows amplifier operating parameters including frequency, filter selection and PA temperature. This display also enhances quick navigation of the amplifier's menu system. Appropriate operations for this amplifier are on HF antenna systems with SWR below 1.5:1. PLEASE NOTE: This amplifier is intended to be used with a low power (QRP) transceiver that is capable of an RF output of approximately 10 watts maximum. DO NOT USE this amplifier with radios that are capable of 100 watts output. Even when output power is turned down, many 100 watt transceivers send out an instantaneous high power RF pulse that will blow out the Solid State final transistors of this amplifier. Damage to final transistors due to RF pulse and overdrive is NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. InnovAntennas DXC-140 40 Meter Rotatable Dipole covers the entire 40-meter band with particularly good efficiency, impressive SWR bandwidth and a very reasonable wingspan, just over 39 ft. (12m). There are several methods to shorten a mast-mounted rotatable dipole, including loading coils and capacity hats. The position of the coils is critical to efficiency--closer to center is mechanically easier, further out is electrically better. The designer has used both methods to build the Delta C-140 antenna robustly and efficiently, limiting the size to a turning radius under 20 ft. (6 m) that many radio amateurs can easily mount on their tower mast and rotate within their property limits. The advantage of this design is a very large usable bandwidth of the antenna--the DXC-140 can be used over the entire internationally approved range from 7.0 to 7.3 MHz without having to use a tuner (SWR 2:1 or better). In the DXing range from 7.0 to 7.2 MHz, the SWR is usually equal to or better than 1.6:1, making the efficiency of the antenna 89 percent! Due to the robust construction of the DXC-140, no guy wires are necessary. Some of the images of this model installed show examples with guy wires, as chosen by individual user dependent upon the location, due to the expectation of snow and ice, for example. However, the mechanical design and construction will handle heavy loads, with the element diameter of 2.17 in. (55mm) in the center with a wall thickness of 0.078 in. (2mm). The element diameter decreases towards the end of the element save weight, but the ends still have a diameter of 0.98 in. (25mm) to easily support the capacity hats. All in all, the DXC-140 antenna combines a carefully calculated design with a very robust construction from an experienced antenna designer. This is also supported by the materials used: UV-resistant insulators, seawater-proof stainless steel hardware, and aircraft-grade aluminum elements. The result is a rotatable dipole with high efficiency, with an overall length of only 39.4 ft. (12 m) and a weight of only 18.7 lbs. (8.5 kg). Palstar BT1500A 1500 Watt Double L Balanced Antenna Tuners are the only 1,500 watt, double-L network antenna tuners on the market today. BT1500A tuners feature two tandem mounted, precision ceramic roller inductors for a truly balanced tuner. A dual section capacitor provides the correct amount of capacitance for both low-band and high-band operation and is relay-switchable between the input and output side to provide the maximum possible range of impedance matching. So, why buy a balanced tuner? Joel Hallas described the problem many antenna tuners experience in his September 2004 QST article on balanced tuners.
