Mastrant Antenna Support and Guy Line Ropes
Mastrant Antenna Support and Guy Line Ropes are available in several sizes and strength ratings, perfect for support of wire antennas, vertical antennas and antenna masts, as well as support of Yagi booms and elements. Mastrant ropes are of the highest quality for strength and are UV-protected for extended longevity. MASTRANT-O is a highly reflective rope (bright orange plus braided reflective tape) based on long-term proven Polyester (Dacron) product line. It is designed for maximum visibility in public places such as Field Day and POTA activities. Like all Mastrant ropes, it is UV stable and resistant to all weather conditions. It has low weight, great abrasion resistance, great durability and is nonconductive (no effect whatsoever on your antenna). Moreover, in contrast to ropes made from aramid fibers (Kevlar, Vectran, Technora, Twaron), it has knot strength about 60 %. Mastrant-P and Mastrant-R Ropes are stronger than other synthetic ropes of the same size, made from proven modern polyester. Mastrant-Q is a new rope made from a blend of polyester and polypropylene, designed specifically for guying applications. It offers an excellent performance-to-price ratio and has a knot strength of approximately 60%. It replaces Mastrant-P in diameters of 6 mm (1/4 in.) and larger. Mastrant-S is a similar polyester/polypropylene rope, distinguished by its highly reflective strands for increased visibility. Mastrant-M is their highest strength rope with the Dyneema® DM20 core, a superior synthetic rope offering high performance at an affordable price. Very high strength, negligible elongation, very low weight, and great abrasion resistance are all attributes that make Mastrant-M the best rope for guying. Larger, stronger sizes of Mastrant-M are used in Europe and other parts of the world for tower guying. Durability and safety are of prime concern to ensure that an antenna installation remains fully operational for a long time. Antennas and guy lines are exposed to changing weather conditions, mechanical strain, UV radiation, humidity, and more. These non-conductive synthetic fibers have all the necessary qualities: high strength, negligible stretch but good flexibility, long life, low moisture collection, fast drying, a minimum bending radius adding the ability to tie knots, good UV radiation resistance, weather durability and resistance to acids and alkali. Conversely, steel guying wires are heavy, difficult to work with, and their strength deteriorates with time due to corrosion and general aging. Electrical conductivity of steel guys is an undesirable feature, as they interact with the antennas and adversely modify radiation patterns. Thanks to recent developments in synthetic materials, both amateur and professional users are changing over to non-conductive guys and ropes. Mastrant offers these products for a variety of applications, from thin support lines used for wire antennas and beams, to rope guys for supporting small and portable masts and vertical antennas. When you need quality rope to install, replace, or modify your antenna systems, consider Mastrant Antenna Support and Guy Line Ropes, now available from DX Engineering.

Palstar BT1500A 1500 Watt Double L Balanced Antenna Tuners
Palstar BT1500A 1500 Watt Double L Balanced Antenna Tuners are the only 1,500 watt, double-L network antenna tuners on the market today. BT1500A tuners feature two tandem mounted, precision ceramic roller inductors for a truly balanced tuner. A dual section capacitor provides the correct amount of capacitance for both low-band and high-band operation and is relay-switchable between the input and output side to provide the maximum possible range of impedance matching. So, why buy a balanced tuner? Joel Hallas described the problem many antenna tuners experience in his September 2004 QST article on balanced tuners. He wrote, "Unfortunately, the typical random sized center-fed antenna with random length ladder line feed has an impedance at the feed point that varies dramatically with frequency. The result can be heating and loss (and occasional damage) at the balun ... the classic solution has been the use of an inherently balanced tuner." In his QST article, Joel Hallas was reviewing Palstar's former model AT1500BAL as a high-power solution for amateur operators looking for a balanced tuner. Since that review, the engineers at Palstar have reengineered their AT1500BAL tuner inside and out and reintroduced it as their BT1500A. Palstar BT1500A 1500 Watt Double L Balanced Antenna Tuners feature two precision ceramic-body roller inductors mounted in tandem. The massive dual-section capacitor can be switched, with a front panel controlled relay, from the input side to the output side of the tuning network to provide maximum flexibility in tuning range. Another front panel controlled relay switches the two sections of the capacitor for high and low-band coverage. Plus, as a final touch to the BT1500A, Palstar's engineers added the peak and peak hold dual cross-needle metering found in our popular PM2000A wattmeter. Here are the specifications on these great double balanced antenna tuners; model BT1500A: -- Power rating: 1500 watts PEP -- Relay switched Hi/Low-Z impedance range -- Relay switched Hi/Low-C variable capacitor -- Total inductance of 44uH for greater impedance range on 160m -- Matching range: 160m - 20m (2500+/-j2500), 10m - 15m (1000+/-j1000) -- Two tandem-mounted ceramic body roller inductors - silver plated wheel and wheel shaft -- One turns counter and one crank handle drive both inductors -- Low minimum capacitance, dual-section variable capacitor (960pF/65pF @ 4.5kV) with Vernier drive for smooth accurate tuning -- Ferrite 1:1 input balun, required on double balanced tuners -- Peak and peak hold dual cross-needle metering (1-2 sec hold) with backlighting -- Cabinet metalwork is heavy 11 gauge (0.090 in. thick) Iridite®-coated aluminum; powder coated front panel and top cover Note: For additional information, please look at the files under the "Documentation" tab. Please remember that Palstar BT1500A 1500 Watt Double L Balanced Antenna Tuners are highly-specialized tuners, designed to do only one thing--tune balanced-line feed antennas--and do it well. The Radio Source 630PD Lowdown 630-Meter Vertical Antennas
The Radio Source 630PD Lowdown 630-Meter Vertical Antennas provide Amateur Radio operators with an efficient and practical solution for operating on the 630-meter band in locations where space is limited. Compact, lightweight, and easy to install, these antennas deliver impressive performance without requiring a large area or tall support structures. Designed for installation above a horizontal ground radial system, the 630PD utilizes an inductively center-loaded, base-fed configuration with a capacitive top hat to maximize efficiency while maintaining a remarkably small footprint. Its rugged yet lightweight construction makes setup, takedown, transportation, and storage simple. The antenna is intended for ground-level installation over a horizontal radial field consisting of radials approximately 10 to 25 feet in length. When used with a ground system of 32 radials measuring 25 feet each and operated at typical input power levels of 100 to 200 watts, the antenna can produce an effective radiated power (EIRP) of approximately 2 to 4 watts, depending on local ground conductivity. At its maximum rated input power of 250 watts, EIRP can reach or exceed the FCC's 5-watt limit for the 630-meter band. The Lowdown 630PD is mounted to a ground support using insulated block clamps that secure the lower antenna section at two points approximately 18 to 24 inches apart. Installation is typically accomplished using a treated 4x4 or 6x6 wooden post set into the ground, leaving 3 to 4 feet exposed above grade. The upper clamp is mounted near the top of the post, with the lower clamp positioned at least 24 inches below to provide secure vertical support. For easier tuning and maintenance, a tilt-over mounting arrangement may also be used. An optional transmission line impedance transformer can be attached directly to the mounting post, with a short jumper connecting the transformer to the antenna feed point. Ground radial connections can be made conveniently using a copper or aluminum grounding ring installed around the mounting post, providing a simple and cost-effective method for attaching the required radial system. The result is a highly efficient, mechanically durable, and exceptionally compact antenna system that makes 630-meter operation practical for stations with limited space.

SSB Electronic Mast-Mount Preamplifiers
SSB Electronic Mast-Mount Preamplifiers are low-noise, band-specific, weatherproof preamplifiers designed for installation near VHF and UHF antennas. Available for the 6 meter, 4 meter (Europe), 2 meter and 70 cm Amateur bands, these preamplifiers are installed in-line, at the antenna. They improve receive performance by amplifying weak signals before feedline loss can reduce them. Powering and Sequencing Most models can be powered remotely through the coaxial cable, and many modern transceivers include a built-in bias-tee for mast-mounted preamplifiers. If the transceiver or transverter system does not provide power, an external bias-tee or remote-feed unit is required. • The DCW-15 and DCW 2004B provide sequencing support. • The DCC-12 does not provide sequencing. • SP series preamplifiers include a built-in RF VOX circuit for safe operations up to 100 watts; for transmit power above 100 watts, PTT control with a sequencer is required. Some models require a direct DC connection (UHF female). • -S series preamplifiers feature lower current signal relays with slightly higher insertion loss. • MHP and MHP-S series preamplifiers versions require sequencer control (see below). Signal Filtering and Switching Built-in helix filters effectively reject out-of-band signals, helping maintain clean receive performance. Real coaxial relays handle transmit/receive switching, resulting in very low insertion loss (except for SP-S series). And each amplifier is carefully calibrated at multiple test stations before packaging. Dual-Band Models Dual-band models include built-in diplexers, so they require only one connection for the multiband antenna and one connection for the station coaxial cable. MHP Series for Demanding Stations The MHP series is designed for demanding operating environments and provides higher gain for weak-signal modes such as Tropo-DX and EME. With maximum transmit power handling of 1500 watts on 6m and 2000 watts on 2m and 70cm, these preamplifiers are well suited for contesting, DX, and EME operation. Important Note for MHP Models Bias-tee power (on the RF coax) is not supported in most MHP Preamplifiers. They must be powered directly using the appropriate cable size for the required distance, and they may only be operated with a correctly wired sequencer, such as the DCW 2004 B Sequence Controller. Transmitting high power without a directly wired sequencer is likely to damage the MHP preamplifier. Housing and Hardware All SSB Electronic Mast-Mount Preamplifiers are supplied in UV-resistant, weatherproof housings with Type N female connectors. Hot-dip galvanized clamps and stainless steel mounting hardware are included. See individual models for band coverage and detailed specifications.

InnovAntennas DXR Series Multi-Band HF Beams
InnovAntennas DXR Series Multi-Band HF Beams have short booms with full-size elements or capacity-loaded shortened elements, all with excellent performance, making them very popular internationally. The DXR Series interlaced-element antennas, optimized by G0KSC over a long period of time, achieve the best possible balance between compact size and performance. For the DXR Series Multi-band Yagis, equal attention was paid to a very solid construction and sufficiently small component and packaging size, to keep shipping costs within reasonable limits. Click on any model listed for specific details and specifications. InnovAntennas DXR Series Multi-Band HF Beams are available exclusively from DX Engineering in North America. Important features of InnovAntennas DXR Series Multi-Band HF Beams: * No traps, matching links, or hairpins * Only one feed line for all bands * Careful selection of materials without regard to cost * Very robust construction with still manageable package size The DXR Series beams use a 1.97 x 1.97 in. (50 x 50 mm) square boom with 0.078 in. (2 mm) wall thickness. A square boom has the advantage that the elements cannot twist in the plane. On the other hand, it is slightly heavier than a round boom of the same stiffness. The DXR Yagis do not require any bracing of the boom. The longest elements are 1.378 in. (35 mm) diameter in the middle and taper relatively quickly to achieve a good compromise between weight and strength. This construction also helps to avoid constant vibration even in light winds. With these multi-band Yagis, care has been taken to ensure that there are never more than the elements of three bands nested within each other. This is because each additional element for one band can cause interference on another band. This negative effect was avoided by careful manual optimization. The result is the best possible matching over a wider band range than other antenna designs. In most cases, no tuner is necessary; the SWR minimum can be precisely set by adjusting the element lengths. Due to the robust construction and the absence of moving or electrically active components such as coils, traps, hairpins, etc., an InnovAntennas DXR beam is maintenance-free for many years. The insulators are UV-resistant and designed for a wide temperature range. The mounting hardware uses sea-water resistant stainless steel and the aluminum is type T6 6066/6082, which is also used in aviation. It is nice not to have to climb the mast every year to maintain the antenna. The DXR Series Multiband beams are designed to require only one feed line. This makes installation on a mast with a rotor very easy. And the use of modern SDR transceivers, which allow the observation of several bands at the same time, becomes really useful. The one feed line is connected directly to the solid distribution rails of the fed elements. By avoiding baluns, matching elements, traps, or hairpins for tuning, transmit power is only limited by the coaxial cable and connectors. Note: Front-to-back ratio (F/B) and SWR bandwidth data for the DXR Series will be added as it becomes available. Many models of the DXR Series are available as a "super-compact" version, on which the longest elements have been shortened with capacity hats, thus reducing their turning radius considerably. The installation of these impressive antennas is possible even where space is limited.

Diex Antennas DXM Series 2 Element 40 meter Directional Antennas
Diex Antennas DXM Series Single-Band Shortened 2 Element Directional Antennas provide coil-shortened specialized coverage of a single HF band that can complement band coverage of existing antennas. Crafted with precision in Brazil using quality materials, these aluminum tubing antennas are designed to withstand tough environments assuring long-lasting, exceptional performance. They are packed partially assembled, saving valuable time and effort. Typically mounted on a rotatable mast, these unique single-band HF antennas provide high-band directionality depending upon installed height above ground. Given the nature of coil-shortened low-band antennas with limited SWR bandwidth, these antennas feature the flexibility of physical adjustment to set the lowest SWR to a specific frequency. Diex Antennas Single-Band Shortened Rigid Rotatable Dipoles power handling is 300W PEP SSB and 100W maximum for digital modes for the 20, 30 and 60M models, 1000W PEP for 80M and 1500W PEP for 40M, which is further limited if using an antenna tuner. NOTE: Diex Antennas recommends that HF antennas should be mounted on a tower at a minimum height of 33 to 50 ft. (10 - 15 meters) above ground level and must be installed in the clear, away from power lines, trees, buildings or other towers and antennas.

DX Engineering PS-3B PRO-STACK Three Antenna Phasing System
Dominate the airwaves with a DX Engineering PS-3B PRO-STACK Three Antenna Phasing System. Achieve ultimate array control and performance with three identical Yagi or Log Periodic directional antennas or use the system for vertical antennas in a phased array. DXE-PS-3B Pro-Stack Units are frequency independent broadband phasing devices that operate with three antennas on any bands, from 160 through 10 meters. Select from twelve combinations of in-phase and out-of-phase for pattern and null steering that wins contests and snags the rarest DX! DXE-PS-3B-P PRO-STACK Three Antenna Phasing Systems consist of one DXE-PS-3B Relay Unit and one DXE-EC-PS3 Control Console with manual 12-position rotary switch. This advanced system requires only 9-conductor control cable and standard 50-ohm feedlines of equal lengths to each antenna. DXE-PS-3B Pro-Stack Broadband Three Antenna Phasing Systems offer these compelling features: - Power Handling up to 5 kW - Broad band coverage on 160-10 meters - RF Shielded Weatherproof Housing - unique protection - DXE-PS-3B has High-RF tolerant, silver - PTFE SO-239 (UHF female) connectors - DXE-PS-3BN-P are high-quality silver-PTFE Type N female connectors - DXE-PS-3BDIN has Amphenol Connex 7-16 DIN Panel Connectors - Proven high current DX Engineering RF Relays - Safe 12 volt DC relay operation - MOV surge protection on control lines - RoHS compliant assembly DXE-PS-3B Broadband Phasing Units provide the greatest flexibility for three identical antennas. This relay unit contains a broad-bandwidth high-power 2:1 impedance matching transformer. This eliminates common requirements of using mixtures of 75 ohm and 50 ohm phasing or delay cables for impedance matching. Feedlines to each antenna from the relay unit must be the same cable of the same length and match the antenna impedance. So all of them need only be as long as the longest, to reach from the antennas to the relay unit. While it is best to have feedlines of equal electrical lengths, there is no need to closely phase-match cables; cutting the antenna feedlines made from the same coax to equal physical lengths is sufficient. To ensure lowest SWR, impedance matching automatically changes when any antenna is disabled. By switching between antennas at different heights above ground and/or changing the phase relationship between multiple antennas. The old standard system in stacks was to activate or disable specific antennas in the stack to change pattern. However, with the Pro-Stack system, gain remains higher when all antennas are driven and phase is changed, plus this system allows phase inversion as well as the ability to switch any single antenna out of the array. Signals arrive at your antenna system from different azimuth directions and different elevation angles. Adding a stacking phasing system to a rotational array adds the ability to steer the pattern of the antenna array in two planes, azimuth and elevation, and to move the major lobe and nulls. This is accomplished by switching between three identical antennas that are properly spaced for phasing, as well as changing the phase relationship between the antennas to effect changes in the null positons of their elevation patterns. The greatest advantage of equipping your array with a DX Engineering Pro-Stack is the ability to move debilitating pattern nulls away from signal arrival angles. While gain makes a marginal improvement, moving a 20 to 40 dB null can make a phenomenal change in reception. So, the Pro-Stack can make the difference between a barely readable and a strong signal, thus providing the performance edge needed to work rare DX - and win contests. Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. LMR-DB® cable has a waterproofing compound to prevent moisture intrusion after a minor abrasion. Times Microwave Systems EZ Series and TC Series connectors are suitable for use on standard LMR® and LMR-DB® cables. Times Microwave Systems LMR® UltraFlex (UF) cables have a stranded bare copper center and a rubber jacket (black thermoplastic elastomer) designed for repeated bending. Times Microwave TC Series crimp connectors are designed for use on LMR® UltraFlex cables. LMR®'s RF shielding is typically 50 dB greater than standard coax. The copper shield and multi-ply bonded foil outer conductor is rated conservatively at greater than 90 dB. That's better than 180 dB isolation between two adjacent cables. A wide variety of connectors are available for LMR cables, including all common interface types, reverse polarity, and a choice of solder or non-solder center pins. Most LMR connectors employ crimped outer attachment using standard hex-crimp methods. Times Microwave Systems is a premier supplier of coaxial cable products worldwide. Only Times offers a range of products specifically developed to perform as needed in the most diverse range of environments. Times Microwave Systems has over 60 years of experience in building the highest-quality cables. SSB Electronic AS-3000A Mast Mount Antenna System Switch
SSB Electronic AS-3000A Mast Mount Antenna System Switch is an integral part of a low-loss preamplifier and power amplifier control for two-way VHF, UHF and SHF stations. Covering the entire range from DC to 3 GHz, two high quality SPDT coaxial relays, housed in their weather- and UV-resistant enclosure, provide excellent power handling and port isolation with minimal insertion loss. The solid aluminum chassis base incorporates a mounting bracket for a 1.5 to 2.4 in. mast clamp, with six downward facing Type-N female connectors for the antenna, a mast mounted preamp, a power amplifier and the station. A single Type-F connector provides DC out for the preamplifier and a 4-pin DIN with mating connector is used for direct DC control of the relays, typically with a sequencer. User supplied shielded control and power cables are recommended to prevent RF induced false keying. The AS-3000A supports the use of short lengths of coaxial cable for mast mounted equipment to dramatically reduce losses. Coaxial lines used in this type of system should be calculated and tailored so that they do not cause an impedance transformation. The connection of the transmitting equipment to the normally closed (NC) side of the AS-3000A relays allows the safe handling of high RF power without risk to the mast mounted preamp or LNA. Voltage is required to engage the normally open (NO) side of the relays for connection of the receive only preamplifier or LNA to the antenna. Removal of the voltage, or if power is lost, allows safe transmission without worry of equipment damage from transmitted RF, and keeps the preamplifier offline when the station is not used, for charge and pulse protection. See the linked documentation for detailed diagrams of system connections which typically require a sequencer, such as the SSB Electronic DCW2004B (ESB-1025), and an LNA, Mast Mount or separately enclosed. Specifications of the AS-3000A Mast Mount Antenna System Switch (ESB-5058): Frequency range: DC – 3000 MHz Switch positions: 2 Insertion loss per relay, typ.: 0.01 dB / 150 MHz 0.02 dB / 500 MHz 0.025 dB / 1000 MHz 0.03 dB / 2000 MHz < 0.1 dB / 3000 MHz Isolation: >60 dB / 2,5 GHz VSWR: <1.2 : 1 RF Power Handling, by band: 1000 W/2m; 800 W/70cm; 500 W/23cm; 250 W/13cm RF Connectors: Type-N female LNA DC Connection: Type-F female Direct DC Control Input: 4-pin DIN (mating connector provided) Switching Voltage: 13.8 VDC @ 650mA , max.

American Beauty Soldering Tool Parts and Components
If American Beauty's soldering tools were of typical quality, then they wouldn't offer an extensive list of soldering tool parts and components. In fact, their tools are designed to withstand the stress of production-line usage in the most difficult and rigorous industrial environments. However, as those familiar with soldering are well aware, soldering tools require regular maintenance and the occasional replacement of consumable parts. Historically, soldering-tool manufacturers had whole departments set up to service tools for their customers. As budgets tightened and these departments were eliminated, tools that were meant to last a decade or more were tossed in the trash, just like the cheap imports. American Beauty soldering tools were designed from the beginning to be serviceable! Their heating elements, connectors, handles, cord sets, foot switches, electrodes, and many other kinds of parts are replaceable. American Beauty even offers Maintenance kits and instructions on how to care for, and extend the life of, their tools! To save money on tools, you need to buy a quality tool that's right for the job...as well as serviceable. American Beauty soldering tool parts and components are now available from DX Engineering and will provide the means for you to keep your soldering tools working (and in great shape) for a long, long time!
