DX Engineering 80 Meter Self Supporting Heavy Duty Vertical Antennas, model DXE-7580FS-VA-2, are high performance vertical antennas specifically designed for the 75/80 meter band. These DX Engineering 70.5 ft. vertical antennas allow you to achieve the strongest possible presence at your power level and be competitive. These are FULL SIZE, quarter-wave vertical antennas that deliver fantastic specs and the highest possible performance at a price that can easily be justified. Every design detail of the DXE-7580FS-VA-2 Heavy Duty Verticals provide for a very rugged 80 meter antenna that can stay up with no guying necessary and no worry. A 3 in. O.D. thick-wall 6061 aluminum tubing base and an extra-large insulating channel are combined with a patented* heavy duty stainless steel pivoting fixture that is second to none. Engineered for ease of assembly and adjustments, with corrosion-resistant aluminum tubing, stainless steel mounting brackets, and stainless steel hardware, these are very durable and attractive self-supporting antennas. If an extreme wind storm is predicted, one operator can easily lower and raise these antennas safely, due to the simplicity of the included Heavy Duty Pivoting Fixture and optional DXE-VRW-1 Manual Winch. DX Engineering 80 Meter Self Supporting Heavy Duty Vertical Antennas offer full band coverage, with a 2:1 SWR bandwidth of up to 557 kHz, depending on your radial field. Your internal tuner can get the SWR down to 1:1 on any DX frequency for maximum power transfer. DX Engineering 80 Meter Full Size Quarter Wave Heavy Duty Vertical Antennas feature: -- Self-supporting – will withstand steady-state winds in excess of 92 MPH without guying (guying required under extreme wind speed conditions) -- 5 kW SSB and CW rated—unparalleled reliability -- Ultra-rugged construction starts with 3 in. O.D. aircraft-grade heavy wall tubing -- Ultra-wide SWR bandwidth and unbeaten gain -- Highest wind ratings--high strength 6063/6061 tubing manufactured to DX Engineering specifications -- Easy tilt up and down-- Unique fold-over antenna mount features DX Engineering's patented stainless steel Pivoting Fixture, *U.S. Patent Number 8,130,168 -- High power handling and high strength, UV protected EXTREN® insulators -- No rust--100 percent stainless steel tubing clamps and hardware -- Reliability second to none--specially manufactured stainless and aluminum saddle clamps, stainless bolts, and precision machining on each antenna This antenna system requires the installation of a heavy duty mounting pipe set in concrete. Specifically, 3 in. OD high strength galvanized steel tubing with 0.250 in. minimum wall thickness and 7 ft. (84 in.) minimum length, which is available from DX Engineering; part number DXE-VGMT-3CG. A customer supplied 2-1/2 in. Schedule 80 pipe that has an outside diameter of 2.875 in. is also suitable. About 36 in. of the mounting pipe should extend above the concrete. Depth of the mounting hole and amount of concrete is dependent on local soil type, condition and antenna guying. Note: For additional information, please look at the files under the "Documentation" tab. Designed to the highest of standards, DX Engineering 80 Meter Self Supporting Heavy Duty Vertical Antennas are very affordable, and could very well be the finest 80 meter antenna you will ever own.

TBX Tower Packaged Tower Kits

TBX Tower Packaged Tower Kits are complete self-standing tower kits that are strong, yet affordable. Get your HF, VHF or UHF antenna up and into the clear with TBX self-supporting towers—priced competitively to guyed towers, but they fit into a smaller area where guys cannot be installed! These towers feature a strong X Brace design made of pre-galvanized steel with beaded channel legs and riveted construction. The kits use offset-mounting sections, a method that yields a lighter-weight tower that "steps down" in size with each section. Sections are supplied pre-assembled and arrive with the required hardware for an easy installation. TBX Towers are available in 24, 32, 40, 48, 56 and 64 ft. heights. Choose a package from the Standard Tower TBX series, the Heavy-Duty Tower THBX series, or the Extra Heavy-Duty Towers THDBX series. All packages include tower sections, top plate, rotor plate, mast mount and sleeve tube. Standard series towers include an 8 ft. x 1-1/4 in. mast. Each TBX tower package includes a top plate and a rotor plate that are appropriately sized for the provided top section. They're drilled to accommodate mounting stationary mast brackets and clamps. The TBX Rotor Plates have elongated holes that accommodate most CDE, Hy-Gain and Yaesu rotator models. Rotor plates are not intended for mounting thrust bearings and are not drilled for them. If your plans include using a 2 in. mast and thrust bearing, order one of the Extra Heavy-Duty THDBX series tower packages. They have TP-3 Top Plates which are large enough for a 2 in. mast thrust bearing and will accommodate field drilling the thrust bearing mounting holes. This includes the DX Engineering Advanced Design Thrust Bearing model DXE-TB-300 or the old style ROHN TB-3. Drilling is also required for mounting a Yaesu thrust bearing. For each tower package, you must add to your order either a Hinged Base or fixed Base Stubs, to be anchored in your reinforced concrete tower foundation. For more information on TBX Tower Packaged Tower Kits and TBX tower equipment, click on the "Charts & Guides" file link. TBX Tower Packaged Tower Kits provide a self-supporting radio antenna tower that will fit in areas where the real estate for guying a tower doesn't exist! TBX Tower Packaged Tower Kits from DX Engineering offer Amateur Radio Operators another solution for better communications!
