DX Engineering Project Fiberglass is NON-TELESCOPING tubing which is intended to be used as independent parts, or as stock to be cut for parts. Use it for whatever your imagination can devise: cut it into pieces for coil forms, shelf legs, side arms, and so on. The sky is the limit for the number of uses when there is no requirement for telescoping or wall thickness consistency. DX Engineering Project Fiberglass is limited-availability, non-telescopic fiberglass tubing, sold only in a variety of non-nesting sizes and only as eight foot lengths. An oversize shipping charge will apply. These tubes have a nominal and variable wall thickness of approximately 0.120 inch. Their variable wall thickness makes their openings non-concentric at any point along their length. DX Engineering Aluminum Tubing
DX Engineering High-Strength Aluminum Tubes are ideal for your antenna building projects. It is made available in sizes that fit into and over the next, with close tolerances specifically designed for strength when joined and overlapping only by a few to several inches, to build Yagi, Moxon or vertical antenna elements. NOTE: This tubing is NOT intended for each size to telescope completely into the full length of the next; it cannot be used for telescopic mast building. DX Engineering aluminum tubing is manufactured to very close tolerances. This provides the greatest amount of surface contact between nesting tubes for mechanical and electrical stability. Due to the close tolerance, any burrs, dirt, grit or other foreign material, as well as dents, dings and unseen bending or crushing suffered during shipment will cause binding that prevents this aluminum tubing from fully nesting. 6063-T832 seamless drawn aluminum tubing is available in 3, 6 and 12 ft. lengths. 6063-T832 tubing provides good resistance to general corrosion, including stress corrosion cracking, and an excellent surface appearance. Use a series of 3 ft. lengths to build an element that tapers more quickly for lower wind-resistance applications. Use a series of 6 ft. lengths to make an element that tapers more slowly for greater strength and bandwidth. The 12 ft. lengths are great for HF Yagi construction. Most sizes (except 12 ft.) are available slit on one end for use with DX Engineering stainless steel element clamps. If un-slit ends are required for your applications, merely insert the slit end into the next larger size in the stack and use your own attachment method. 6063-T832 tubing features a 0.058 in. wall thickness and is available in 1/8 in. increments from 3/8 in. to 2-1/8 in. O.D. 3003-H14 drawn aluminum tubing features a 0.035 inch wall thickness and a 1/4 inch outside diameter. Each piece is supplied with non slit ends and is available in both 3 foot and 6 foot lengths, making them ideal for your antenna building projects. If your setup requires maximum strength at very long assembly lengths, then choose DX Engineering 6061-T8 tubing. This heavy-duty version features a 0.120 in. wall thickness and is available in 1/4 in. increments from 1-1/2 in. to 3 in. O.D. Packaged shipments of 6 ft. tubing have oversize shipping fees, regardless of the number of 6 ft. pieces. Therefore, order more 6 ft. pieces to spread oversize fees over more tubing for a more cost effective shipment. Tubing that is 12 ft. long MUST be shipped by truck freight. DX Engineering Cam Lock Clamp Kits
DX Engineering Cam Lock Clamp Kits provide fast and easy operation of portable telescopic non-metallic masts. Four kits of multiple clamps are offered which cover ten sizes of Cam Lock Clamps for a comprehensive selection. These mast clamps are the type that permanently mount on the lower tube and allow fast telescopic mast extension and collapsing using the integral Cam Lock Lever that secures the smaller inside tube. Each clamp has a number stamped on it, which helps to identify the Cam Lock Clamp. Each Cam Lock Clamp kit includes a 3mm Allen wrench that fits all three cap screws, two for the lower tube mounting clamp and one on the upper Lever adjustment. Once properly adjusted, the closed Cam Lock Lever will hold the upper tube in place very securely. A vinyl cap is included to cover the top of the smallest fiberglass tube being clamped. NOTE: Tightening adjustment of the Cam Lock Clamp cap screws is typically required for normal operation. Par EndFedz® Antennas
Par EndFedz® Antennas are End Fed Half Wave (EFHW) antennas with the match box coax connection at the end of the wire, for convenient and quick stealth portable operations. These single-band and multi-band antennas can be mounted horizontally, vertically, or as a sloper. No ground plane or counterpoise is needed so portable operation could not be easier. Simply hang the far end from a tree limb or send the wire out a hotel room window or balcony. You can use a telescoping fiberglass mast to get the antenna really high in the air and the supplied end insulators the installation easy. Stealth operation in CC&R and HOA antenna restricted locations is simplified. Their all-black construction makes them difficult to see. Each Par EndFedz® features a UV-resistant black ABS plastic housing with a support rope attachment hole that encloses a matching network to allow the antenna to be fed with standard 50 ohm coaxial cable with a PL-259 (UHF male). All hardware is stainless steel and the SO-239 (UHF female) connector is silver plated and has a PTFE dielectric. The antenna wires are either 18 or 26 AWG stranded Copperweld® with 200 pound breaking strength and a tough, 100% UV stable black polyethylene jacket. One end of the antenna wire has a #10 solder lug making attachment to the matching network feedpoint simple and easily replaceable, if necessary. Standard single and multi-band versions handle 100 or 200 watts and higher power versions handle 300 watts. Lightweight QRP PolyStealth models handle 25 watts and are ideal for portable operation because they are lightweight; the MKII model weighs only 8 ounces and the Trail Friendly model weighs only 3.5 oz. Par EndFedz® Antennas require no counterpoise or extra conductors. The EF-ALLBAND-KW model, about 133 ft. in length, covers eight bands, 80 through 10 meters. The ALLBANDKWJR is 74 ft. in length and operates on five bands, 80-10 meters. The 64 ft. EF-40-10-KW operates on four bands. All three models handle up to 1000 watts SSB/CW and 250 watts AM/Digital Modes. The need for an external tuner may vary based on the antenna model selected and the desired operating band. The manufacturer refers to these antennas as "End-Fed Dipoles" based upon the assertion that a "half-wave radiator is a dipole." This is a variant of the classic definition of a dipole which is a center-fed antenna with two radiating legs running in opposite directions from the feed point. Additional claims about the EFHW state that end feeding a half-wave "can energize the radiator 'nearly' as well as a center-fed." Designed and manufactured in the USA, DX Engineering Tube Deburring Tools feature hardened steel cutting surfaces arranged in a conical shape. Both the interior and exterior of the tool's cone may be used to smooth the rough edges of the inside and outside of the cut ends of pipe and tubing. Its rotational symmetry allows easy reaming and deburring rough-cut tubing edges with minimum effort. The UT-2125 is usable on all tubing and pipe sizes from 3/8 in. to 2-1/8 in. O.D. DX Engineering KX4O Vertical Dipole Antenna Support Plates
KX4O Vertical Dipole Antenna Support Plates are used in the construction of John Huggins' version of an increasingly popular portable HF antenna. It is called an "Asymmetrical Hatted Vertical Dipole," but John shortened the name of his version to "AHVD". It uses mostly off-the-shelf DX Engineering hardware to construct a very robust and versatile portable antenna. His approach is basically a tripod-mounted vertical dipole radiator with an inverted "hat" that serves as an asymmetrical counterpoise. It's an upside-down "T" in appearance! Assembled largely from telescoping aluminum tubes, the antenna elements may have their length easily changed to allow for single-band resonant-coverage from 20 through 10-meters. Due to the relatively large-diameter but lightweight aluminum tubing and electrical design of the antenna, bandwidth is very wide. At the center of John's version of the AHVD are two important items--the support plate and a 1 ft. long slit aluminum tube.
