ACOM 1000 HF + 6 Meter Linear Amplifiers

ACOM 1000 HF + 6 Meter Linear Amplifiers are the world's best value in an Amateur HF amplifier. These amps provide you a comfortable 1,000 watts output on all amateur bands from 160 through 6 meters. The plate-load True Resistance Indicator (TRI) is a powerful tuning aid which helps the operator to quickly and precisely match antennas. The auto-operate function (when enabled) maintains the amplifier in OPERATE mode for you, saving on manual operations. Broadband input matches to the transceiver over the entire range of 1.8-54 MHz. ACOM 1000 amplifiers are both user-friendly and look after themselves. They are designed to safely withstand up to 300 watts reflected power, drive spikes of up to 100 milliseconds duration, drive RF "tails" after a PTT or KEY release and the operator's inadvertent tuning errors. They also withstand a "soft" AC line and will deliver more than half power at only 75 percent of nominal mains voltage. They can withstand voltage drops for up to 10 milliseconds, and up to 15 percent higher line-voltage spikes. These details are all important, particularly when used at Field Day, on DXpeditions and other portable operations. Be sure to read the SPECIAL Note, below. An ACOM 4CX800A high-performance ceramic/metal tetrode with plate dissipation of 800 watts is employed. On-board processing provides permanent monitoring and protection of plate and grid voltages and currents, as well as the exhaust temperature. Text messages, 12 different parameters, and strip peak-reading PEP meter are displayed on a dot-matrix, back-lighted LCD. LED indicators are provided for OPERATE, attenuator-on, and ON/OFF conditions. Records of the amplifier internal status are stored in nonvolatile memory for the seven most-recent auto-protection trips. This information is very valuable should diagnostics be needed. The input bypassing and the vacuum antenna relays are very quiet even in CW mode due to their special mounting. This results in virtually noise-free QSK! ACOM 1010 HF Linear Amplifiers

ACOM 1010 HF Linear Amplifiers cover all bands from 1.8 through 29.7 MHz. They provide over 700 W PEP output (or 500 W continuous-modes) with less than 60 watts of drive and operate without special transceiver signaling; they need only "ground on TX" and the required drive. ACOM's exclusive True Resistance Indicator (TRI); enables faster antenna changes and use over wider frequency ranges. Also, a built-in antenna selector switch with two outputs is included to provide instant choice of antennas. Antenna matching can be achieved in less than 10 seconds and at a quarter of nominal output power, which results in lower risk of interference to other stations and greater safety to the amplifier components. A single ACOM 4CX800A high-performance ceramic-metal tetrode with plate dissipation of 800 watts is used for maximum efficiency. These amplifiers are self-monitoring. They are designed to safely withstand up to 240 watts of reflected power, up to 100 milliseconds of drive spikes (RF "tails" after a PTT or KEY release), and even operator tuning errors. They are also capable of operating at more than half their designed output at only 75 percent of nominal line voltage. Because they can tolerate deep voltage drops and 15 percent line voltage spikes, they are particularly well-suited for use in portable environments, such as Field Day and DXpeditions. Importantly, a variety of system parameters are continuously monitored and available to the operator to assure safe and efficient amplifier operation. Design of the high-voltage power supply eliminates the danger of turn-on transients affecting sensitive devices connected to the same line (mains) circuit. Moreover, the amplifier can be configured to accommodate any of eight nominal line voltages between 100 and 240 V, 50 or 60 Hz. Please see the SPECIAL Note, below. PowerFilm Foldable Solar Panels

PowerFilm Foldable Solar Panels are perfect for keeping your batteries topped off when operating portable, or for any activity where you want to keep batteries charged without the noise of a generator. The weather resistant, nylon fabric on the back side of the panels provides protection regardless of if the panel is in use or whether it's presently being stored. While the cloth backing is weather resistant, if it gets wet it is best to let it dry before you fold the panel up and put it away. Grommets on the corners of the panel help secure it in place to prevent damage in high winds. These high tech thin and flexible panels will continue to provide output even when damaged. They generate electricity even in cloudy, shady, and hazy environments and outperform other solar panels in low-light environments. A charge controller is not required if the battery capacity is 100x greater (or more) than the panel output. For example, a 100Ah battery would not need a charge controller if the panel output is 1A or less. If a charge controller is required, it should be sized according to the output of the panel. Available in a range of output wattages from 20 to 220 Watts there's sure to be an option to meet your specific needs.

Samlex EVOLUTION Series Inverter-Chargers

EVOLUTION Series Inverter-Chargers include a pure sine wave inverter, adaptive battery charger and transfer relay – All in ONE unit. Samlex Evolution Series Inverter-Chargers provide reliable AC power wherever it's needed. They're great for use with boats, RVs, remote cabins and specialty vehicles; as well as alternative energy, back-up and emergency power applications. Using state-of-the-art technology, Samlex EVOLUTION (EVO) inverter/chargers operate at 165 million instructions per second with lightning fast load and response times. They have 9 points of physical protection monitoring (being scanned up to 10,000 times per second) to detect fault conditions and protect themselves in a vast range of adverse environments. * AC Inputs: Two separate AC inputs – one for grid (priority #1), one for generator (priority #2), connect simultaneously, no need to reconfigure when different power sources are available. Generator Input is specifically designed to have more tolerance for distortion, prevents unnecessary "rejection of AC input and switch to inverter" by tolerating distorted wave forms that can be produced by generators. Each AC input is programmable for voltage and frequency. User determines the min and max thresholds to switch from Grid or Generator to Inverter. Generator start can be initiated by "Status Relay" contact, can be programmed to activate when grid is lost. * Solar Input Connect a solar charge controller directly to the EVO though the Battery Charger external DC input. Seamlessly integrate solar charging. ONLINE Mode can be used to prioritize Batteries/Inverter over the grid, ideal for operating primarily on solar power (when the grid is available, but might be costly). * Battery Charger 3 or 4 stage charging with Equalization (must be manually initiated). Adaptive algorithm is used during Bulk to assess battery condition. Subsequent stages are then based on the condition of the battery rather than pre-set time periods for Absorption and Float. Prevents unnecessary charging, extends the life of batteries. Programmable; set battery voltage thresholds to initiate charging. * Transfer Switch Zero transfer time switched from Inverter to Grid. When the grid comes on, the inverter synchronizes with the wave form and then transfers instantly at zero crossing. Less than 16ms transfer when going from Grid to Inverter. When grid is lost, the transfer relay switches to inverter at the correct place in the wave form, the transfer takes less than 16ms. * Surge Capacity (Power Boost) The EVO has 3X surge power! Additionally, the EVO has large power overload allowances available for long periods of time. Increased inverter capacity means you can size your inverter smaller to handle heavy surge loads, reducing costs. * State-of-the-Art Technology EVOs operate at 165 million instructions per second producing lightning fast load and response times. They are practically indestructible because of 9 physical points of protection monitoring being scanned up to 10,000 times per second for adverse conditions. EVOs will detect fault conditions and initiate a healthy shutdown before any product damage can be done. An EVO-RC remote control (sold separately) may be used to capture detailed EVO performance data. It records all detected faults and the conditions leading up to faults. Data is stored on a removable 16GB SD Card (in the remote). Use data to analyze trends for more efficient use of system resources. EVOs use five temperature sensors placed throughout the unit to determine operation of 2 speed controlled cooling fans. Reduces unnecessary fan noise and energy consumption by only running when and where the fans are needed. Samlex EVOLUTION Series Inverter-Chargers intelligently integrate an AC Inverter, Battery Charger and Transfer Relay into an advanced and affordable off-grid power solution. They are now available from DX Engineering!

SSB Electronic Mast-Mount Preamplifiers

SSB Electronic Mast-Mount Preamplifiers are low-noise, band-specific, weatherproof preamplifiers designed for installation near VHF and UHF antennas. Available for the 6 meter, 4 meter (Europe), 2 meter and 70 cm Amateur bands, these preamplifiers are installed in-line, at the antenna. They improve receive performance by amplifying weak signals before feedline loss can reduce them. Powering and Sequencing Most models can be powered remotely through the coaxial cable, and many modern transceivers include a built-in bias-tee for mast-mounted preamplifiers. If the transceiver or transverter system does not provide power, an external bias-tee or remote-feed unit is required. • The DCW-15 and DCW 2004B provide sequencing support. • The DCC-12 does not provide sequencing. • SP series preamplifiers include a built-in RF VOX circuit for safe operations up to 100 watts; for transmit power above 100 watts, PTT control with a sequencer is required. Some models require a direct DC connection (UHF female). • -S series preamplifiers feature lower current signal relays with slightly higher insertion loss. • MHP and MHP-S series preamplifiers versions require sequencer control (see below). Signal Filtering and Switching Built-in helix filters effectively reject out-of-band signals, helping maintain clean receive performance. Real coaxial relays handle transmit/receive switching, resulting in very low insertion loss (except for SP-S series). And each amplifier is carefully calibrated at multiple test stations before packaging. Dual-Band Models Dual-band models include built-in diplexers, so they require only one connection for the multiband antenna and one connection for the station coaxial cable. MHP Series for Demanding Stations The MHP series is designed for demanding operating environments and provides higher gain for weak-signal modes such as Tropo-DX and EME. With maximum transmit power handling of 1500 watts on 6m and 2000 watts on 2m and 70cm, these preamplifiers are well suited for contesting, DX, and EME operation. Important Note for MHP Models Bias-tee power (on the RF coax) is not supported in most MHP Preamplifiers. They must be powered directly using the appropriate cable size for the required distance, and they may only be operated with a correctly wired sequencer, such as the DCW 2004 B Sequence Controller. Transmitting high power without a directly wired sequencer is likely to damage the MHP preamplifier. Housing and Hardware All SSB Electronic Mast-Mount Preamplifiers are supplied in UV-resistant, weatherproof housings with Type N female connectors. Hot-dip galvanized clamps and stainless steel mounting hardware are included. See individual models for band coverage and detailed specifications.
