DX Engineering RPA-2 Modular Receive Preamplifiers
DX Engineering RPA-2 Modular Receive Preamplifiers are newly designed versions of the RPA-1 with internal slots for accessory modules. They accommodate the addition of the one optional plug-in module, such as the 75 to 50 ohm Impedance Transformer Module, or the Receiver Guard 5000HD Plug-In Module, or the DX Engineering Clifton Laboratories Z10020 AM Band Filter Module. DXE-RPA-2 preamps have very low internal noise and are optimized for the 300 kHz to 35 MHz range. They help you hear the weakest signals without artificially raising the noise. Meticulous craftsmanship and durable, robust components allow these preamplifiers to withstand high signal levels while providing superior dynamic range and third-order intercept performance that equals or exceeds most receiver and transceiver front-ends. RPA-2 Receive Preamplifiers have key features added, as requested by our tech-oriented customers and enthusiasts: - Internal slot accommodates the optional 75 to 50 ohm Impedance Transformer Module to accomplish typical receive antenna feedline to equipment transitions without losses -Also allows direct connection to 50 ohm receive antenna feedline BNC connectors with no transformer required - Internal slot for DXE-RG5000HD-PM Receiver Guard 5000HD Plug-In Module – Front-end protection for the RPA-2 - Secure BNC female connectors and receive-system friendly F female connectors remain; both prevent accidental connection to transmitting devices with UHF connectors - A green LED indicates when DC power is present and the preamplifier circuit is engaged. - An ingenious positive-capture threaded-sleeve 2.1 mm power connector that ensures the DC power cannot be accidentally disconnected from the RPA-2. - Alternatively, a simple internal jumper change allows the RPA-2 to be powered by DC on the feedline While many other common preamplifiers suffer from harmonic distortion, RPA-2 Modular Receive Preamplifiers include our exclusive, advanced push-pull design that eliminates harmonic distortion. Their high quiescent current increases their ability to handle strong signals without distortion or overload. These high performance devices must be powered with a well filtered and regulated DC power supply and will offer maximum performance at 12 to 18 Vdc input. Please do not use a cheap wall transformer or noisy switching wall-wart to power these top-of-the-line preamplifiers. Indoor installation at the back of the radio is recommended for RPA-2. For those who want to place them in an enclosure at a receive antenna system, a handy internal jumper allows these new units to be powered on the coaxial cable. SSB Electronic Mast-Mount Preamplifiers
SSB Electronic Mast-Mount Preamplifiers are low-noise, band-specific, weatherproof preamplifiers designed for installation near VHF and UHF antennas. Available for the 6 meter, 4 meter (Europe), 2 meter and 70 cm Amateur bands, these preamplifiers are installed in-line, at the antenna. They improve receive performance by amplifying weak signals before feedline loss can reduce them. Powering and Sequencing Most models can be powered remotely through the coaxial cable, and many modern transceivers include a built-in bias-tee for mast-mounted preamplifiers. If the transceiver or transverter system does not provide power, an external bias-tee or remote-feed unit is required. • The DCW-15 and DCW 2004B provide sequencing support. • The DCC-12 does not provide sequencing. • SP series preamplifiers include a built-in RF VOX circuit for safe operations up to 100 watts; for transmit power above 100 watts, PTT control with a sequencer is required, some required direct DC connection (UHF female). • -S series preamplifiers feature lower current signal relays with slightly higher insertion loss. • MHP and MHP-S series preamplifiers versions require sequencer control (see below). Signal Filtering and Switching Built-in helix filters effectively reject out-of-band signals, helping maintain clean receive performance. Real coaxial relays handle transmit/receive switching, resulting in very low insertion loss (except for SP-S series). And each amplifier is carefully calibrated at multiple test stations before packaging. Dual-Band Models Dual-band models include built-in diplexers, so they require only one connection for the multiband antenna and one connection for the station coaxial cable. MHP Series for Demanding Stations The MHP series is designed for demanding operating environments and provides higher gain for weak-signal modes such as Tropo-DX and EME. With maximum transmit power handling of 1500 watts on 6m and 2000 watts on 2m and 70cm, these preamplifiers are well suited for contesting, DX, and EME operation. Important Note for MHP Models Bias-tee power is not supported, as MHP Preamplifiers must be powered directly using the appropriate cable size for the required distance, and they may only be operated with a correctly wired sequencer, such as the DCW 2004 B Sequence Controller. Transmitting high power without a directly wired sequencer is likely to damage the MHP preamplifier. Housing and Hardware All SSB Electronic Mast-Mount Preamplifiers are supplied in UV-resistant, weatherproof housings with Type N female connectors. Hot-dip galvanized clamps and stainless steel mounting hardware are included. See individual models for band coverage and detailed specifications.

SSB Electronic LNA Series Low-Noise Preamplifiers are newly developed low-noise receiving amplifiers for the 6m, 2m and 70cm bands, featuring super low noise with high gain, making them ideal for use in EME (moon bounce), MS (meteor scatter), Aurora and tropo-DX operations. High performance is reflected in exceptional IP3 test figures (35dBm, typical), to provide strong signal immunity. Very good rejection of strong signals near and far guarantees interference-free operation, even in the vicinity of other radio transmissions from commercial and broadcast stations as well as mobile carriers. The input circuit of the amplifier is built with high quality components in a chamber construction, optimized for the best noise characteristics. The bandpass at the output of the amplifier ensures very good in-band selection with signals outside the pass band effectively suppressed. The LNA Series Preamplifiers do not have RX/TX relays and are intended for receiving applications. LNA Series Preamplifiers are built in a sturdy tinplate housing, suitable exclusively for indoor applications (Ip41 to DIN EN 60529). Choose between models that have two Type-N female connectors, Type-N Male and Female, and SMA female. These amplifiers can be powered via an external cable or via a coaxial bias tee (remote power supply). The -MA weatherproof variant of the receive-only LNA series is characterized by a robust, IP44-protected housing, allowing the high-quality preamplifier to be mast-mounted close to the antenna using Type-N connectors only. Power is supplied exclusively over the coax. If your receiver does not output 12-15 VDC receive preamplifier power onto the antenna feedline, use the SSB Electronic DCC-5000PRO Bias Tee (remote power inserter).

SSB Electronic LNA-30 Broadband 5 kHz – 30 MHz Low Noise Mast-Mount Preamplifiers
SSB Electronic LNA-30 Broadband 5 kHz – 30 MHz Low Noise Mast-Mount Preamplifiers cover the VLF, LF, and MF range, including the 2200 through 10 meter Amateur bands. Only for receiving applications, the LNA-30 is used to transform a simple wire or small whip antenna into a powerful broadband receiving antenna. This allows, for example, an SDR receiver to be operated in an unfavorable location with limited space and still deliver very good results. A skimmer or The LNA-30 amplifies the signals received by about 20 dB. The operating power can be varied for effect from 12 and 24V, with higher gain achieved at 24V, but the lowest figure at 12V. A very RF quiet, well filtered linear power supply should be used, not a switching power supply, which connects to this mast-mounted preamplifier via a separate coaxial cable; a UHF female handles the power input. The LNA-30 handles the RF separately with Type-N female connectors for antenna and receiver. When power is removed the preamplifier turns of and no signal from the antenna passes, making this an "always on" broadband preamplifier. The LNA-30 may be mounted on masts up to 2.25 in. (58mm), is weatherproof, and should be placed outside, close to the receive antenna. This preamplifier cannot pass RF power and is not suitable for transmitting operations.

SSB Electronic DCW 2004 B Sequence Controllers
SSB Electronic DCW 2004 B Sequence Controllers provide properly timed power to remote mast-mount preamplifiers, as well as timed keying for RF amplifiers and transverters. Designed for convenient remote powering of SP and MHP series preamplifiers via the coaxial cable, the integrated sequential control reliably prevents sensitive preamplifiers from being damaged by RF peaks during switching operations. For the control of external devices, the DCW 2004 B provides three switching outputs with increasing delay times, so other components can be activated in a defined sequence. Features of the DCW 2004 B Sequence Controller: • Remote power (bias tee) via the coaxial cable for SP and MHP series Preamplifiers. • Delayed switching of RF linear amplifiers. • Three sequentially controlled switching outputs. • PTT input for switching to ground or +5 to +12 VDC. • Independent switching of preamplifier and power amplifier. • Low insertion loss of only 0.1 dB and high shielding effectiveness. • Automatic short-circuit test of the preamplifier feedline. • Last-State Function stores the previously selected operating mode. Please note: Extended Connections diagram must be used for proper keying delayed sequencing (see the diagram in the Documentation link). Advance keying is required for SSB mode with a footswitch, or for CW mode an external keyer with a PTT output, which must be connected to the sequencer (via pin 3 in and pin 1 Ground). With these initial Ground on Transmit PTT signals, each output is delayed by 200ms, 250ms and 300ms respectively: First, the sequencer removes bias tee coax DC power to the mast-mounted preamplifier; Second, it keys the amplifier (via pin 5 out); Third, it keys the transceiver (pin 6 out) or transverter. Fourth, the extra relay output on pin 7 for the transceiver if a transverter is used. Upon release of PTT input, all outputs release immediately, except for an additional 200ms delay before power is restored to the receive preamplifier. Due to timing delay of transmitter keying, CW mode keying of the transceiver cannot use VOX. Technical Specification of the DCW 2004 B: - Operating Power: 12 – 14 VDC, 2.1mm center positive - Band Coverage: 6 m, 4 m, 2 m, 1.25 m, 70 cm, 33 cm, 23 cm - Power Handling (Digital, CW & Phone): - 6 m / 1500 W - 2 m / 1500 W - 70 cm / 800 W - 23 cm / 400 W - Insertion Loss: 0.1 dB - Preamplifier Power (bias tee): 13.8 V max 500mA load - PTT switching output: 30 V at 500 mA max. - Relay switching outputs: 30 V at 500 mA max. - Ground On Transmit Voltage PTT Input Threshold: < +2 V - Positive Voltage PTT Input Threshold: > +5 V - Dimensions (WDH): 5.512 x 4.724 x 2.087 in. DX Engineering Time Variable Sequencer Units
DX Engineering Time Variable Sequencer Units are microprocessor-based transmit/receive control signal-delay units. They can provide 0-30 milliseconds of delay, programmable in 2 milliseconds increments, to as many as five different outputs tied to your CW keying or push-to-talk (PTT) lines. By controlling the receive-to-transmit (and back) timing of linear amplifiers, and other sensitive equipment, damage caused by improper switch timing may be avoided. These DX Engineering TVSUs improve CW performance by eliminating the annoying leading-edge chopping or truncating of Morse characters, especially important in contests or pileups, where sending accuracy is critical. Now RoHS-compliant, they may also control external devices, such as preamps, active antennas, or external relays that need to have power removed during transmit. Separate power-in and power-out jacks on the front panel are used to control external power. Two 2.1mm power plugs and two 3.5mm stereo plugs are provided. Additional TVSU features include: * Control timing of PTT turn-on, hang delay of PTT, amplifier hang delay, external antenna relay hang delay, and turn-on delay of auxiliary output * Dip switch settable delays of 0-30ms in 2ms increments * Side tone generator that follows input of keyer or hand key, not transmitter * Side tone pitch can be programmed from 300 to 1,000 Hz in 50 Hz steps * Front panel headphone jack with adjustable volume * Supports CW full break-in * Can control external power to DX Engineering active receive antennas and thereby permit operation in closer proximity to transmit antennas Note: Whenever the DX Engineering "Documentation" tab is available, please look at the associated files for additional product information. To make sure that all of your equipment keeps safely in step, use one of these DX Engineering Time Variable Sequencer Units!

Toptek Communications PA-80V-U Dual Band FM VHF/UHF Power Amplifiers
Toptek Communications PA-80V-U Dual Band FM VHF/UHF Power Amplifiers are attractive and flexible units intended for analog use with dual band handheld FM transceivers (HT), for Amateur 2M/70cm and VHF-UHF Safety, Business, Marine and Commercial applications. The PA80V-U operates over the 138-174 MHz and 430-470 MHz ranges with a nominal maximum power output of 80 watts on both bands. Typically, full output is achieved with 5 watts input from the transceiver. At a minimum input of 1 watt (maximum 10 watts), the amplifier automatically recognizes the transmitting frequency, switches to the appropriate band and signal path and keys the PA. The output power level can be set independently for VHF and UHF, preset to one of four steps: 25W, 45W, 65W, 85W. A multi-function eight LED bar graph meter measures Power Out, indicates power level settings, SWR (when Show SWR button is depressed), and indicates High SWR, Overdrive, Over-Under Voltage, High Temperature and PA Fail. Only FM Mode is supported, not DMR. NOT compatible with DMR and P25 modes. The Receive Low Noise Amplifier (RX LNA) can be turned on or off independently from the transmit Power Amplifier (TX PA). The LNA provides about 21db on VHF and 12dB on UHF. Input and Output connectors are Type N female for the best SWR and lower losses. The PA-80V-U requires 13.8 VDC at a maximum of 13A.
