Yaesu G-450ADC Medium-Duty Rotator Systems

Yaesu G-450ADC Medium-Duty Rotator Systems are the entry-level rotator and controller that are perfect for small HF beams, a tri-bander or VHF and UHF antennas up to about 10 sq. ft. of tower-mounted wind load. A lesser wind load of about 5 sq. ft. can be handled when mounting the G-450ADC on top of a mast with the optional lower mast bracket, GC-038. Rotate Amateur and professional antennas with the Yaesu's handsome 120 Vac desktop remote control console, featuring a compass-style indicator at the station operating position. The G-450ADC rotator system provides 450 degrees of azimuth rotation in just over one minute. The rotator handles masts of 1.25 to 2.48 in. outside diameter and, when tower mounted, a total vertical mast load up to 200 lbs. In the Yaesu G-450ADC, the clamshell rotator design utilizes 98 heavy 7/16-inch dual-stacked circumferential ball bearings to distribute load over the full diameter of the housing. This design minimizes stress and wear, and practically eliminates the possibility of destructive water entry: there is no shaft hole in the top of the housing. Yaesu's factory-lubricated rotator units are housed in Melamine resin-coated die-cast aluminum intended to provide maintenance-free operation under all climatic conditions. IMPORTANT NOTE: Beginning in 2019 the new Yaesu G-450ADC Rotator motors and controllers operate with a 20 V DC control voltage, four-wire system, using the provided connectors to be installed at each end of the user supplied control cable, same as the previous models. For clarity, the new DC rotator motors are marked "G-450DC" at the connector. The rear panel of the controller is titled "G-450ADC" on the serial number label. WARNING: The legacy Yaesu G-450A Rotator motors and controllers used a 26 VAC control voltage, five-wire system. Therefore, old AC controllers are NOT compatible with new DC rotator motors, and new DC controllers are not compatible with old AC rotator motors. All control cable assemblies for all modern Yaesu rotator systems use the same connectors with "1 to 1 pin-out" connector wiring. Therefore, older cable assemblies are compatible with the new Yaesu G-450ADC components, which only use pins 2, 3, 4 and 5 in each connector. For control cable runs less than 125 ft. use four-conductor, 20 gauge control cable (4 x 20 AWG). If the rotator cable needs to be longer than 125 ft., then use four-conductor 18 gauge cable (4 x 18 AWG). The input voltage for the G-450ADC controller is labeled "117 VAC" to indicate house current of 110 to 120 Vac. When you need a medium-duty rotator system, which is durable and attractive, order a new Yaesu G-450ADC Medium-Duty Rotator System from DX Engineering.

M2 Antennas Solid Center Cross Booms

M2 Antennas Solid Center Cross Booms, model CB60, also known as FGCB60 or FCB60, are used for critical VHF/UHF/SHF satellite uplink-downlink systems, EME (moon bounce) and long range terrestrial operations. These Cross Booms feature a super strong 1.625 in. solid aluminum rod center section with two 2 in. outside diameter, 60 in. long, 1/4 in. thick-wall fiberglass tubing sections, to secure large systems or arrays. Built for years of slip free service, Solid Center Cross Booms eliminate the worry of crushing, cracking or splintering the center portion of an all fiberglass cross boom. One of the uses for these extra heavy duty solid center 11 ft. long cross booms are in an azimuth-elevation rotator (AZ-EL). Two medium or long boom Yagi antennas of two different VHF/UHF bands are mounted at each end of the cross boom, as required for satellite uplink and downlink operations. These cross booms are also used for horizontally stacking a phased pair of 2 meter cross polarized Yagi antennas for all-mode terrestrial operations including on FM and SSB/CW, as well as for a pair of circularly polarized Yagi beams for EME. These two applications require a non-metallic cross boom mounted horizontally on a rotating mast or in the AZ-EL rotator, respectively. The ultimate satellite, EME or terrestrial VHF/UHF antenna system uses two of these cross booms mounted vertically at the ends of an 11 ft. metallic cross boom. This type of four cross or circularly polarized Yagi array, horizontally and vertically stacked, provides incredible gain and front-to-back performance, effectively quadrupling your effective radiated power (ERP) and dramatically increasing your reception capabilities. DX Engineering also carries the coaxial cables and M2 Antennas Beams and Power Dividers to build your best-ever satellite, EME or long haul terrestrial phased array installation. Mount them all with M2 Antennas Solid Center Cross Booms from DX Engineering.

M2 Antennas 2M9X 2 Meter Yagi Antennas

M2 Antennas 2M9X 2 Meter Yagi Antennas provide two sets of elements to build either a horizontally polarized SSB-CW-Digital beam or a vertically polarized FM beam, replacing the separate 2M9SSB and 2M9FM. Performance is optimized for a specific mode and frequency range, with no compromises to achieve unneeded bandwidth. The 2M9X SSB covers 144-146 MHz and the 2M9X FM covers 145-148 MHz. Where do you want to make yourself heard? Both models are ideal building blocks for a small turning radius, high-gain stacked array. Two horizontally polarized, vertically stacked 2M9Xs yield the same gain (14.8 dBd) as M2's 33 ft. 2M5WL, but with about 1/2 the turning radius. Great for QTHs that won't permit a long boom Yagi. The 2M9X can be stacked on a cross boom for the same gain increases, and the turning radius is still a very manageable 10 ft. Always designing and building new antennas to fit the needs of amateur radio operators, the "X" Series of antennas were redesigned to keep the packaging under 48 in. long, to minimize oversize surcharges applied by shippers. The "X" Series antennas offer the same performance as its predecessor, but with shorter boom sections. The boom sections also have a thicker wall for added strength. A side benefit of the "X" Series antennas are that they are more portable with the smaller sections. At the heart of M2 Antennas VHF beams is a driven element module originally designed for maritime ATS satellite service. All connectors are O-ring sealed to the CNC-machined block. Internal connections are sealed with a space-age silicone gel with nearly four times the dielectric strength of air. The balun connectors are triple sealed on the coax and nut-sealed at the block connectors. The type N feed connector uses a gold-plated, beryllium copper center pin. Elements are 6061-T6 3/16 in. solid rod with UV stabilized polyethylene Button insulators and stainless steel keepers. WiMo X-Quad Antennas

WiMo X-Quad Antennas, with separate monoband models for 144-146 MHz or 430-440 MHz, represent a refinement of VHF and UHF cross-polarized Yagis. They are well-known in Europe as "multi-element quads"—an antenna with aluminum elements, not a wire and fiberglass antenna—which offer excellent gain with a relatively short boom length. X-Quads are a great solution due to their short length and lightweight construction, especially for VHF/UHF satellite systems which require rotation in all compass directions and elevations. Two X-Quad Antennas, one for 144-146 MHz and one for 430-440 MHz, may be mounted at opposite ends of an azimuth-elevation rotator cross-boom for high-performance full duplex Satellite operations. For either or both bands, X-Quad Antennas may instead be used in a stationary mount, as pictured, for all-mode terrestrial operations. In either application, multiple X-Quad Antennas may be stacked vertically and horizontally for additional gain and tighter patterns. The WiMo X-Quad special features, developed specifically for Satellite Amateur Radio include: * Switchable Polarization Plane; horizontal/vertical/right hand circular/left hand circular (remote switching requires optional equipment) * High gain compared to other antenna forms due to the "stacking effect" * Short boom length and compact design * Back-end boom or mid-boom centered mounting to the mast is possible The radiator element is a "stacked quad" multi-element beam, for which linear polarization can be compared to a crossed slotted radiator. However, the advantage of the X-Quad is that it can be optimally used for the desired polarization by simply changing the feed. Compared to a typical cross-polarized Yagi, all directors and reflectors are active in the X-Quad, which enables the compact design. As with cross-polarized Yagis, switching is accomplished on the mono-band X-Quad either by a coaxial relay or with a band specific WiMo Remote Polarization Switch (sold separately). If the remote switch is mounted at the antenna, then only one coax cable and a 4-conductor control cable are required, sold separately. If the Switch is used at the station, then two coaxial cables from the antenna to the station are needed. The WiMo X-Quad Antenna can also be permanently set for circular operation by using an optional, band-specific Phase Line. The secondary elements are arranged diagonally in relation to the square-shaped driven element, which corresponds to the voltage distribution on the radiating element, for the most favorable results. In comparison to Yagi antennas, the X-Quad pattern and tuning are affected less by the influence of external fields, making them ideal for installation under a roof, in an attic space. All elements are electrically conductively connected with boom and cable outer sheath, thus eliminating interference from atmospheric noise. Two Type-N female coaxial connectors, one for each polarization, are mounted in a housing that is waterproof. Boom and elements are made of aluminum, all hardware is stainless steel. Construction and design of the antennas are protected by law (DBGM). The antennas are designed for boom-end mounting; however, alternatively the mast clamp can be mounted in the middle of a non-metallic boom. These antennas have a split boom, so their transport length is only 29.53 in. (75cm) for the 2m antenna and 25.59 in. (65cm) for the 70cm X-Quad. For portable operations they can be stowed away comfortably in the trunk of car and their shipping costs are comparatively low.

InnovAntennas OP-DES 50 MHz Yagi Antennas

InnovAntennas OP-DES 50 MHz Yagi Antennas are a relatively new development from InnovAntennas. OP-DES stands for Opposing Phase Driven Element System, in which the ends of the dipole radiator of these antennas is angled backwards towards the reflector, parallel to the boom. This results in opposing phase relationships in the ends of the driven element, providing a very clean directional pattern with few side lobes. The OP-DES Yagi has optimized gain over a wide frequency range, while retaining a good front-to-back ratio. The driven element dipole of an OP-DES antenna has a low impedance of 50 ohms. This eliminates the need for matching elements or a transformer balun. For this reason, the antenna is offered without a balun, but an RF choke balun made of ferrites on coax should be used at the feedpoint terminal studs. With the coaxial cable directly connected to the driven element dipole, well over full legal limit power levels are possible. Like all InnovAntennas Yagis, the OP-DES 50MHz antennas are extremely robustly constructed; the larger model uses truss cables for the boom. All elements of the antenna use high quality aluminum, the clamps and screws are made of stainless steel. The supplied mast clamp is designed for masts up to 2 in. (50mm) diameter. Application Description Monoband Yagis are often used at contest stations, or when you want to use only one band for a certain time, for example to focus on a specific target during sunspot minimum. Another advantage of monoband antennas are the stacking possibilities, i.e. the arrangement of two or more identical antennas properly spaced from each other. InnovAntennas Yagis provide all the necessary technical specifications, so there is no guesswork about the stack spacing. The InnovAntennas OP-DES 50 MHz Yagis are designed through careful numerical optimizations to provide excellent gain with good bandwidth. As a result, a low SWR of 1.1:1 is achieved in the frequency range of 50.0 - 50.6 MHz (6-element) or 50.0 - 51.35 MHz (5-element). The experience of the developer Justin, G0KSC ensure superior operations with these antennas in practice, often supported by a lively exchange between users. DX Engineering Telescoping Aluminum Antenna Tubing Kits

DX Engineering ATK65A Telescoping Aluminum Antenna Tubing Kits employ twelve aluminum tubes that may be used as rope-guyed vertical radiators. Intended for portable or temporary operations, these kits may also be used in a well-guyed permanent vertical antenna installation. They're a good DIY vertical antenna element for Field Day, DXpeditions, RVs, SOTA, camping, and more. Guying is required (three or four levels of rope guys are needed when these kits are extended beyond a 30 ft. height), so guy rings are included. ATK65A kits consist of 11- 6-ft. sections and one 3-ft. section of DX Engineering's rugged 6063-T832 drawn aluminum tubing. The kit also includes all required stainless steel element clamps. The bottom section is the 2.0-in. outside-diameter heavy-wall (0.120 in. thick) that mates up to 2-1/8 in. diameter tubing with an 8 in. overlap, and then back to 2-in. diameter tubing with a 5 in. overlap. Each sections continues the element taper down to 7/8-in. diameter at the top. The overall length of the assembled sections can reach up to 780 inches, or 65 feet. These kits are well suited as vertical radiators for your custom-designed single vertical antenna or in multiples in a two or four element array. They may be set to resonate on any HF band at any length up to 65 feet by simply removing or telescoping the sections and clamping them at the desired length. NOTE: This vertical antenna tubing kit is NOT intended to be used as a support for other antennas. Also keep in mind that vertical elements typically require counterpoise or radial wires emanating from the feedpoint for proper function. Erection of this thin-wall aluminum tubing element is a multi-helper, simultaneous push-up and pull-on guy lines process. See the instructions for details. For additional product information, please look at the files under the "Documentation" tab. Whether you use them as a stack of aluminum for your experimentation or as quarter-wave resonant vertical element, DX Engineering ATK65A Telescoping Aluminum Antenna Tubing Kits provide the most economical path to building your own designs!

InnovAntennas 50-LFA-4-LN 4-Element 50 MHz Yagi

InnovAntennas 50-LFA-4-LN 4-Element 50 MHz Yagi was specifically designed for city use in noisy environments. This Loop-Fed model is optimized for front-to-back performance on relatively short boom of 11.15 ft. (3.40 meters), to reject as much local noise as possible. This antenna offers very good forward gain of 9.4 dBi (14.9 dBi at 10m above ground), and an exceptional 32 dB front-to-back rating, and SWR less than 1.4:1 across the 50-50.5 MHz range. The low profile LFA dipole achieves a significant reduction of noise, allowing clear reception of much weaker signals, a key component of operational improvements and success. The 50-LFA-4-N includes a center mount boom to mast clamp for up to 2 inch masts (50mm) and is a sleek 1.77 sq. ft. wind load, making this beam ideal for typical 6 meter stations. It is also excellent for stacking to maximize gain, especially when available space restricts the use of a longer boom Yagi. It features a 1.25 in. (32mm) 16-guage square aluminum tubing boom for rugged reliability and low weight. This antenna is made with 1/2 inch (12.7mm) element center sections and 3/8 inch (9.525mm) for the outer elements. The antenna has fully insulated elements which will ensure continuous, high performance for many years to come, regardless of the weather conditions. The introduction of the loop-shaped and phase-fed dipole achieves considerably fewer side lobes in the Yagi directional pattern. With less energy absorbed from the sides and from behind, these antennas are quieter than typical 4 element beams to achieve a higher 6 meter performance level. The 50 MHz Monoband LFA Yagis from G0KSC represent a significant advancement in the development of Yagi antennas. They provide a low-noise front-end for your radio, so you hear more signals. This compact 4-element 50 MHz LFA provides stunning performance across the important section of the 6m band, 50.0 - 50.5 MHz. With a direct 50 Ohm feedpoint, no matching losses and suppression of unwanted noise, InnovAntenna 50-LFA-4-N is hard to beat!

InnovAntennas 144 MHz OWL Ultra Yagi Antennas

InnovAntennas 144 MHz OWL Ultra Yagi Antennas offer the 2 meter weak-signal enthusiast undeniable low-noise performance with amazing SWR bandwidth, particularly good gain and an excellent front-to-back ratio. Five Optimized Wideband Low-impedance (OWL) Ultra Yagi antennas are available, starting with six element up through ten element models. InnovAntennas' OWL Ultra Yagi beams have been extensively numerically simulated and optimized using special software that includes a 3D simulation of the boom, the insulators, the connector and the cable; an elaborate numerical simulation of these antennas that was inconceivable a decade before. InnovAntenna has achieved the best of what is technically possible for a wideband 2 meter Yagi. The boom of the 144 MHz OWL Ultra Yagi is 1 in. (25mm) square aluminum featuring through-the-boom insulated elements. The adjustable center fed folded dipole has the side opposite the 50 ohm feedpoint connected to the boom, which removes static charge to protect the transceiver. This antenna acts like a band-pass and noise filter outside the 2 meter band, due to rapidly rising impedance. However, the most important feature of OWL Ultra Yagi antenna is optimization for reduced side lobe in the elevation plane, achieving dramatically reduced received noise, even in high ambient noise city locations. The InnovAntennas OWL Ultra Yagis are suitable for all "weak signal modes" on the low end of the 2 meter band due to the optimization for high gain with incredibly low noise for EME, Meteor Scatter, Tropo-DX, Sporadic-E, etc. Despite the robust construction (the antennas can withstand wind speeds of up to 100 mph (160 km/h), the Yagis are still relatively light and thus suitable for smaller masts or for stacking several antennas. The OWL Ultra Yagis do not include a balun, as the coaxial cable connects directly to the loop driven element dipole. The antenna can handle 5 kW, but the recommended choke balun handles a maximum power of approx. 1.0 to 1.5 kW is possible. Exceptionally good SWR is achieved over a wide frequency range. With excellent gain to noise ratios (G/T ratio), the economical InnovAntennas OWL Ultra Yagis are well suited for use in stacked arrays, for EME, satellite or terrestrial operations. Each model listing describes the key benefits of the OWL Ultra Yagi Antennas. Your antenna is a part of your receiver and arguably the most important part of your station. You have spent thousands on radio equipment; make sure you don't short-change your set-up by choosing anything other than an InnovAntennas OWL Ultra Yagi.

I0JXX Power Dividers

I0JXX Power Dividers serve as RF combiners and splitters for 50 ohm VHF/UHF and EHF antennas and feedlines. They are hand-tuned with advanced test equipment to achieve the specified frequency range. I0JXX Power Dividers are made with Type N and 7-16DIN female common connectors and precision Type N antenna port connectors for extremely low loss and constant impedance. They are constructed with aluminum tubing and solid metal center conductors to make air dielectric coaxial lines with nearly immeasurable insertion loss. Power Dividers are used in VHF and UHF multi-Yagi stacked arrays to impedance match two, three, four, six or eight horizontal Loop or Yagi antennas. Standard low-loss 50 ohm coaxial cable Type N male assemblies, each the exact same length are required from each antenna feedpoint to its respective power divider port. But phased wavelength cables are not required. All Yagis or horizonal loops are fed together in phase, separated by the proper stacking spacing, and pointed in the same direction. As compared to a single antenna, stacked Yagis can yield 3 dB gain for two antennas and practically 6 dB gain for four antennas, with only minor losses deducted for the feedlines, connectors and the power divider. Each pair of stacked antennas nearly doubles the effective radiated power of the station. Available now at DX Engineering, I0JXX Power Dividers offer a superior way of combining and splitting RF in stacked Loop or Yagi arrays.
